This was the moment they transitioned from Bleach to Nevermind era shows. You can hear even Dan Peter's drumming hastening the pace of everything, literally and metaphorically slightly and Kurt's energy, ironically while Dave Grohl was in the audience watching.
Dan is going fast man! It's awesome for this spectacular show but I don't know if he could have been the guy going forward. The fact they didn't want to break-up Mudhoney by hiring him full-time was a convenient excuse I think haha. It's a very hyped-up drumming style. It rocks. He makes the Bleach songs sound incredible. But hearing this full show now shows how Dave was the perfect middle ground or combination of Dan and Chad. But he does the mid tempo and heavy banging better and tighter than Chad and the faster punkier stuff just as good or better than Dan. Like...I can't picture Dan playing Heart-Shaped Box.
CHAD CHANNING and DAN PETERS are Great Drummer's but Dave Grohl took Nirvana took the next level, His backing Vocals and thunderous playing took the Band to the Top. I'm glad CHAD/DAN do see some Royalties (Dan on SLIVER which had made it on Compilation's) & Chad (1 song off Nevermind "Polly" + Bleach/Incesticide & Compilations) to make life a lil easier.

Damn... Kurt’s screams on Pay To Play... wow!! and Peters with his really fast aggressive playing... love this show! Wish a soundboard would leak or get released...
Sound system setup wasn't too high tech for that show. I'm not sure any real quality audio was recorded, plus that was right when Nirvana was about to transition off of SubPop to Geffen, so things were really chaotic. We had to bring everything in and get it set up day of show, because Mon-Fri that garage was literally a parking garage. I sub-let it from the parking company who was leasing it from the building owner. We -almost- had to shut the whole thing down after we'd opened doors and the building was full due to some miscommunication between the owner and the parking company I was sub-leasing from. Somehow we managed to do 4 shows in that "venue" that summer and fall, with the Nirvana / Melvins show ending up being pretty epic.

It's called true feel. He has the chaotic punk fast energy "feel" down pat and it sounds awesome for most of these songs, but he lacks the true feel of some of them. Like In Bloom, Spank Thru , About A Girl. It's a thing with drummers...feel. Not every song requires that blistering tempo. But as a one-off show, it does rock.
Do you even realize that the problem lies in whatever equipment the taper used to record this video? Has nothing to do with the "mixing" of the concert. Go and listen to the AUD recording and you will see ...

Kurt was wild !

dale was the best nirvana drummer
Nope
its no exaggeration to say this is "historic footage". Thanks very much for sharing. Been waiting a long time to see this.
It's been out for a while now, but the original taper always tries to take down every upload of the full show.
@@davidchez513 A couple of guys with good minds... This is truly "historic".
Incredibly rare! One of the first here baby.. never seen the full show
2:51 BEYBLADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BEYBLADEEEEEEEEE
finally, after 6+ yrs of this video being gone after I first saw it, IT'S HERE! THIS IS THE FOOTAGE I KEPT TALKING ABOUT!
It won't stay though. The taper is known to copyright strike any youtube uploads of this tape.
I’d never thought I’d ever see footage of now this iconic legendary show.
Thank you!!!
that mosrite sounds fucking monsterous, sucks that it got stolen then pawned
Ojala el estúpido de UA-cam no te tire el vídeo por copyright

@@TamTraveller Thanks for sharing, sounds like a very good memory

Dan Peters is NOT fucking about
That drum pattern or strokes was so different with Dan Peters maybe it was influenced with real punk rock....

HORRIBLE HOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRIBLE SOUND MIX....is his guitar even on? lol ...only drums and barely his voice is heard

@@davidchez513 not to mention, both the tapers are standing directly next to the amp (AUD) or the drum kit (AMT), distorting both audio tracks.
