    What comes across here is Larry’s absolute love and respect for the Beatles. He reminds me of a kid on Christmas morning … a little subdued and even overwhelmed by all the gifts laid out in front of him. Personally I love the Beatles, I like the new song also.

    Hello Larry. I have listened to this new release only once today. The reason for that is I cried because I found the song so beautiful, melancholy., and beautifully produced. The melody made me well up, and the sound of John's voice is so mournful and sad. However, I adored it and I think that all who contributed to it did a perfect job. Ten out of ten.

    As I said in the live chat Larry I think Now And Then is great,very stirring,so much so it made me cry,beautiful song and Love Me Do sounds like Love Me Do to me and yes John and Paul's vocals together are the Beatles,it was their vocals and song writing that made the Beatles. Bob

    I have only listened to the new “now & then” song. I like it but I’ve only listened to it once so I’m hoping to love it even more with multiple listens. I’m looking forward to watching the documentary & hearing “love me do” in stereo.😊🎧

    I am really excited for the Red & Blue reissues now. Now & Then is outstanding.

    This is an amazing remix! Even more so, because they don't even have the master for this version of "Love Me Do". This has to be made from a de-clicked UK 45 single. Great clarity. This bodes well for the remixes on the "Red" album. Imagine what they could do with the master tapes?

    When I heard John’s voice this morning hearing this tune for the first time, I began to cry. I have maybe 1 time in my life ever cried hearing a piece of music.
    There is something beautiful about hearing 82 year old Paul McCartney sing with 30 something year old Lennon. It’s the definition of Now and Then. I feel truly honored to Be here, when this song came out.
    Billions maybe trillions of human beings have lived on this planet. And it is us who get to hear the Beatles! How lucky
    Love the video Larry!

    Now and Then is very beautiful
    John‘s voice sounded really really clear and I also love the new lyrics that Paul added
    I’m sure that this song will also become a Beatles classic
    Love Me Do sounded more clear as well and I can’t wait for when they do new mixes on all the early Beatles music
    Not that they needed it, but if you could make some things sound more clear than why not do it
    Anyways, have a Fab day Sir and I will catch you on the next video

    This mix gives you the feeling of being in the studio, because the drums has significant reverb that makes it sound like it’s on the other side of the room and the harmonica is next to you.

    I assume this is the new so-called "stereo" mix that will appear on their forthcoming revamp of their Red Album, but has already been released on a download. This was apparently done by Giles Martin himself. But there is hardly any stereo effect in it. It is almost mono. Furthermore, it has a horrible new echo on it. I already got a much wider and clearer stereo effect on it myself, taking the original mono recording of this track from their Past Masters collection. I did two stereo mixes of it for my own pleasure, one with the drums in the left channel, the bass and acoustic guitar in the center with the vocals, and the harmonica in the right channel. Then I swapped the harmonica with the acoustic guitar to give it a different stereo separation for the second mix. I did it by using sites like splitter-ai, and lalalai. I have done hundreds of mono to stereo conversions using these sites, and getting perfect results. But if anyone wants more information as to how to use these sites, I would have to give that separately. But this stereo mix here is very narrow and barely existent.
    Somebody else has uploaded John's original demo of Now And Then onto UA-cam with no overdubs, just a piano accompaniment, but in poor sound quality.

      It sounds great for what it is. I never liked the 1962 single version of this song because it’s a slowed down version. There always was an echo.

    The only thing that pegs now and then down is that paul’s older voice backing john’s makes it less like a beatles song

    Right away I noticed how nervous paul was to sing…. And I think the original released in 1962 version with white on drums is better….

    Love Me Do Sounds Fantastic. So clear..
    Now & Then i agree with George, it was sh..t. I have heard it once, that will do for me
    I am waiting for the Remixes. New Songs to me are a gimmick

    • @girlswanted7
      @girlswanted7 Рік тому

      Trust me, give it a few spins. It isn’t a gimmick. Artists today don’t record their parts in the same studio anymore.

    Cuando salió no decía remix y abajo en la descripción decís remaster 2022 , y el sonido no se notaba remezclado ni mejorado . Despues de unas horas cambiaron el título a remix 2023 y no note ninguna mejora en el audio. Si este es el remix es un desastre.

    The Giles Martin mixes are generally better to listen to than the Sixties stereo mixes, but they will eventually go out of date as future tech will be used to do this all over again.
    The original mono mixes will always be the genuine historical artefacts. They have a solid, roundedness and a punch that stereo separation will always dilute to some extent. But it is an acquired taste.

    • @paulgoldstein2569
      @paulgoldstein2569 Рік тому +1

      Up to an extent, I agree. But it all depends how well done they are. If you turn up the volume of certain instruments that you like to hear the most, that adds a bit of extra punch. It makes the tracks sound clearer, reducing the distortion a bit. But at the same time, it can take a bit of the punch out of the original mono track. But it is amazing to hear mono recordings in stereo for the first time. I have done hundreds of mono-to-stereo conversions for my own pleasure, using the sites I mentioned above, Splitter Al, and La La Lai, converting the individual instruments into individual files known as stems, and dragging them onto my Audacity computer mixing desk, and adjusting the slide controls for each stem.

    The 2023 mix sounds great. That being said this is the 1962 single version which is slower and I never liked this version. That being said it sounds as good as it can. Giles isn’t going to speed it up…

    • @paulf6973
      @paulf6973 Рік тому

      The vocal is better on the album version too - this is the version where Paul says he can hear the nerves in his voice, at his solo "...love me do".
      From the blurb on the Beatles' site, the Ringo version will be on the new Red album too.

    The drums are wrong. Too soft, too right from the centre, and not seperated.
