As I saw this one, I believe my smile was almost as big as Misha's. The "normal" and "slower" cars are frequently more entertaining and fascinating, as this channel keeps proving. That is rather excellent, in my opinion.
the tuned 500hp twingo is a rival but i guess it was just because of how sketchy it was lol, i hope the guy comes back soon with revised suspensions, i bet he can make it a little track monster
@@mgcharoudin For some reason I imagined your wife rolling her eyes when you say stuff like this. Or maybe I'm just projecting my own life. Anyway, much love and may the track stay dry and jokes drier.
Being from Denmark I admire them doing it - and it being legal! So many crazy cars. We can't do shit the cars in Denmark, no ECU tuning, no getting more horse power without it being so expensive to have tested etc. that is will be easier to just buy a "better" car in the first place.
When I was 18 I didn't like the 850s because they were fwd, same with these v70's (transverse engine awd) but now I love them and would own one and fix it. These are the last of the real volvos to me, I just didn't see it at the time because they weren't as boxy as a 2/7/9 series, or RWD.
I think I was smiling almost as much as Misha watching this one. This channel continues to demonstrate that the "normal" and "slower" cars are often more fun and interesting. I think that's super cool.
Perfect no-nonsense lap! Great driver, straight to the point car with great setup. I just love how after 11:20 starts looking at the temp gauges - reminded of my old modded forester SG9 vibes. My right eye is still trying to find the oil, water and EGT gauges even 5 years after selling my car.
Man, there's something lovely over a person talking English in that way. Love Volvo. My brother had a 850 t5r with around 300hp. Nice car and I loved the cream yellow color :)
That thing's a beast! Have an S40, 940 and C70 T5 parked outside - still have the original brochures for the S70/V70R back in the day too. And I'm a Saab guy..!
Volvo turbo 5 cyl engine is one of the best sounding engines in my mind. The most fun Volvo i've had, must have been 242 with 6 cyl twin turbo engine from 960/s90 with low comp pistons and xc90t6 turbos, 960 transmission, truetrack lsd, bilstein cs, ipd suspension etc. Turbo 780 was also fun, as well as the 960 95 was a nice DD. But I also had some nice 240s like a wagon 240 "classic" in very nice condition (was just N/A, but it was super clean and nice/tight).
Yes more Volvos please 😊❤ I always felt this generation v70 were better for some reason than the later ones. It's basically a facelift 850. The interior is more plastic than the 850s but I guess the R's got alot of alcantara to hide it 😅
Had a 2.4 n/a S60 with the 5 speed as a commuter. Man that inline 5 sounded so good. Bounced it off the limiter everyday and it ate it up, even with 170k miles on it.
Impressive! It handles all the power, definitely makes about what he says. This can handle 200hp more and put it down and be quick. Would love to see Misha drive it as the owner was really conservative and still be able to keep up with the Porsche!
These cars sound so good. My buddy had one in high school with some kind of straight pipe cherry bomb home made exhaust thing. But it sounded like some kind of group B rally car leaving the parking lot on the way home lol
That btcc DNA is showing. And in my opinion volvo did the fwd really well in there early fwd cars i owned a S40 1.9 T4 from 1998 and it didnt act like a fwd car miss that car still had around 320hp
Amazing car. Misha absolutely beaming, the driver acting like it’s another Tuesday with his driving style lol, n very happy 5 cylinder sounds. Just wish it didn’t rub so much. Absolute rub city lol
I love the low hum this enine has when car is slowing down, sounds very satisfying for some reason. P.S. If someone says: "Idiot, those were tires, not the engine!" I don't care, it just sounds right.
Imagine buying a GT4RS and it still takes you almost half a lap to shake the massive old brick of a Volvo wagon that filled your rearview at mach speed within the first few corners.
Lovely to see an Ovlov out on the ring. Car looks nicely set up. Seems very benign. Driven very well. Clearly more conservative than Misha, but smooth. That was definitely smooth ❤ Editing to add, did you go to volvo rolling road days, back in the mid 2000's ?
I offered to take him for a lap. I didn’t offer for him to drive my car. It’s priceless so should anything happen it couldn’t be repaired or replaced easily as parts are difficult to find.
As a child of a Volvo familiy (today 42 years old) we had 17 Volvos in 45 years... always loved to have an V70R... had only the "normal" 144HP V70 - but the 5-Zylinder sound is still awesome... after that came an V70 II D5... yes, diesel for economy reasons... but still a great car... now trying a new V90... don't know what to think about the reliability until now. I'll find out in the future. So... long story short - thumbs up for more Volvo content!
@kaidoholm3896 I drove the D5 for 8,5 years... it's more like ship or a truck... yes fine in it's own way... but never ever so great as the petrol sound 😍
Was that the servo pump crying for it's life? You can hear it too when he turns on the car to show the width of the front tyre. Love these sleeper family cars, 850 V70 T5 engines are loverly. Color is also nice. The chap was also a great driver. High five for both of you.
Auto manufacturers always made different cars for EU and North America. Due to regulations or clients wishes . For example , automatic gearbox is not so good for EU , because we have short distance to drive without so big and long autobahns.
As I saw this one, I believe my smile was almost as big as Misha's. The "normal" and "slower" cars are frequently more entertaining and fascinating, as this channel keeps proving. That is rather excellent, in my opinion.
I don't think I've ever seen Misha smile so much during a ride! Says volumes!

These older Volvos are so fun. The aesthetics are great and the brick-like shape is perfect for a sleeper.
And that was made in Swedish quality and not Chinese plastic crap Like the new Volvos .
“The wheels are from a RWD jag. I didn’t stagger them, I just got 4 rears”
A man of culture indeed!
That 5 cylinder growl just can't be beaten. Lovely sound.
Lovely sound of engine, but noize of wheels to arch shaboinkment in the corners
The only thing I miss from my V70. :)
I love that so many of you Brits just love to modify and really build driver cars, it's a bloody beautiful tradition 😍
There's also a lot of Chavs who just remap with no supporting mods and then overheat or go into limp mode.🤣🤣🤣

@@cze33eat least they know how to modify the cars, the equivalent of chavs in the states just go out and take 28% apr loans on boats made by dodge
This makes me want to revive my stored 850 T5 wagon.
Just do it! Don't get it perfect, just get it running!

What are you waiting for? Get it out of storage. These legends need to be out and driven how they were meant to. 💪🏽👊🏽
I loved my 860/3.0/220hp/24v and Amazon B-121/1.8/115hp 1965 year
This guy is holding the steering wheel like he's driving to the store to grab some groceries.
Volvo driven volvo style.

I had been waiting for this episode, always love Volvo! The 5-cyl sounds awesome!
Maybe Misha should build a Volvo 'Ring tool. 😂
The owner sits comfortably like a bus driver and runs around the course with the brick 😁👍🏻
Watching Misha's boy-like grin and imagining the Porsche driver's seeing the orange Volvo grill in the rearview, we're both priceless.
The world needs more inline 5 engines in it.
Misha, you should make a wing package for this brick.
What a car! 🎉Had many Volvos (nothing like this). Still driving a V70 daily now!
My man hunting down porsches driving an orange brick. Absolutely beautiful. Congrats on a great build
Love seeing this currently own a 850R V40CC and XC70
It's the first time I actually see Misha with a genuine smile. And I've been watching for years.
Nice!
Jan Lammers would be proud :-)
I wonder how a C70 T5 would go on the Ring with rear downforce?
Awesome lap and I dont think Misha stopped smiling!
In the process of building a 1996 850 T5 myself! Love seeing these bricks being used as track weapons!

My dad had a volvo v40 2ltr turbo and it was a little beast underrated cars
looked a bit like father and son driving to scool late in the morning. nice run, was fun to watch
I love my Volvo’s, and it’s great to see them on your channel Misha. Did the 240 that blew up end up getting fixed? We need more 240 content :)
I had a couple of 850 T5's many years ago, a saloon and an estate. Great cars and now creeping up in value. This V70 looks fun!
Ive always wanted a station wagon!!! got myself an amazing hybrid 450h for now and love it... ❤
My dad had an 850 T5, truly a fantastic lil engine. He got it 850K something kilometers.

The coolest driver I've ever seen on track 😎 kindest regards, Richard U.K
I have a 2000 C70 HPT coupe...will enjoy this one. I bet his kids are never late to soccer practice!
Smiling thru the entire lap, love it haha

I also had a V70 couple of years ago and I absolutely love this car…👍
Had the V70 R AWD in that colour. ❤
As a 850 T5 owner this is awesome to see, mine is sadly in a winter hibernation right now but summer will come soon 💪
wow that wall unit marches forward 👍great sound also
Sounds great!
Can't believe I didn't really care for these 25 years ago because they were not RWD.
It's nice to see Volvos in the ring, can't wait to finish my 850 to get back on the track
It's really hard not to fall in love with this brick!
❤❤❤
5 cylinder sound is nice
Would love to visit the ring with my own V70R one day and perhaps meet you for a drive... Mine is P2, the generation after the one the in the video.
I love the volvo 5cyl turbo content. Would be great to see you in some redblock turbobricks
_Change gear, change gear, put sunglasses on, change gear, take sunglasses off, change gear😂_ guy is a chad. Awesome lap.
Yes!!!!!!!! Been waiting for another Misha/Volvo video!
I love how much you say without talking Misha.
My parents had one of these (non-turbo) but i fondly remember that 5 cylinder sound from when I was a kid
Seeing something like this just makes my day. Always had love for these since the 850 Supertourers.
These cars sound so good. My buddy had one in high school with some kind of straight pipe cherry bomb home made exhaust thing. But it sounded like some kind of group B rally car leaving the parking lot on the way home lol
What a fantastic lap! A view of the gauges would be a nice complement on the next one!

The S40 didn't drive like a Volvo bc it had a Mitsubishi platform.. I've had many 850's and after that a S40. It was such a smooth ride
never seen Misha smile so much on a passenger lap
A very capable driver in an awesome machine.
insane how that a old Volvo Wagon can almost follow a new Porsche RS on the track model.
Just fun to watch😅
👍nice color 🧡🧡🧡 not boring like black and gray

My V70R was so much fun. Got me in a lot of trouble! It wasn’t built like this tho. Sick!!!

For a brick, he flew pretty good!
Looks like a bucket seat might go a long way haha man is having to use his entire body to drive that. Awesome car, sounds great.

The sound is lovely!
Drove a pv544 '63,for 8 years,loved that car.(my wife didn't)
Imagine being relatively confident in your 4RS while getting onto the ring just to be chased by a house the entire lap
Lovely sound, and confident driving. Why is it that sometimes Misha doesn't do the lap, is that the owners' preference?
