Awesome! I had an '85 KE100, put that thing through hell and high water (literally on the water), even raced it in enduros and would jump it up to 80 feet on a local MX track (to a smooth backside, no problem), and the engine and transmission survived everything a 12 to 15 year-old crazy kid in the country could throw at it. Most serious repair was simply replacing worn clutch plates! Proved to be far more reliable than my KX250, KX125, YZ250F, and so on.
Makes me wanna look for another one of these bikes. My dad got me one from a guy he worked with out from under a guys back deck. Didnt run was all nasty me and my dad took it completely apart like u did and it ran like a champ. I used to let all my friends take turns on it and we would ride it all day all the time. I miss that thing alot it ran like a scalded dog every time.
Nice Job. Got the same out of the year 1977, original paint and setup - this tiny little thing is always a great fun. Just consider to keep it....or deliver a bunch of fun to a new owner.
Love it, thank for the memories. In 1973 I turned 15 living on Miami Beach and got a new KE100 my first bike it was an assume bike. I weighed very little so that thing hauled ass and did wheelies no problem. Rode it every day put a ton of miles on it never had an issue or brake down it started on every kick. I remember running 55 on I-95 got there in a flash, dont remember the top speed but it was up there I only weighed maybe 40 to 60 lbs. 1973 on my 16th birthday got my first RD350 and the beginning of a lot of bikes and fun. 🙂 😈
@8;30 how did you determine the transmission was the bottom end and too much oil would hurt the rings?? Asking for a friend (my mechanic)?? Thanks, great video.
hi, im struggling looking for a spare parts for my ke100 back in the Philippines.. im looking for this item. head light speedo front shock set swing arm frond & rear fender signal light tail light exhaust pipe if you can send me the link boss thank you. much appreciated
I have a 2001 KE100 that ran before I replaced the crank bearings and seals. Now it will only fire with starting fluid. I have a new, clean carb, but it still refuses to suck fuel from it. I made sure the rotary disc was in correct, but it still won’t run off the carb. I have searched all over the internet and can’t find an answer, other than clean the carb jets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless.
I just bought a KE100, first motorcycle I've owned as an adult. Great video, I learned a lot about how it works (I'm not that familiar with 2 strokes). Mine came without lights, or the speedometer. Any suggestions on how to find parts? I've checked ebay, but im not sure what fits.
Thanks, I'm not sure about parts I always try to get oem stuff but like you said hard to find, joining fb groups helps sometimes folks have parts and advise.
Man that oil going in the trans doesn’t lubricator the crank. It just is there for the wet clutch and transmission gears the crank is lubricated with 2 stroke oil
I would absolutely love to have one of these bikes😢I was this close🤏🏼to having one but the guy selling the bike was highly unreliable, couldn't even get the bike in person for me to see so I ditched it....hopefully in the future I'll have the opportunity to get one❤
as to final comment, on Kawys, I had a an earlier model of this as a teen, carb was in the right place. Three Kawys in the garage rn. (for dirt, its the KLX 300) yes, enduro, not dual-sport damit. 2021 an it only does 80!.
Really excellent series of videos man, gave me the confidence to set about my crank bearings... Not quite as 'easy going' as yours...but on home straight thanks to you! Hey, What'd you use to flush out that tank? (Muriatic acid 'n' bicarb..?) Loved your troll comment! ;)
Sorry to say mate but you put the air filter in the wrong way, the rubber seals sit against the intake hole and too of the air cleaner. Your current setup will not do any filtration whatsoever. Please check your facts before you share them with the world.

I actually like the way the older models look better, and you're right they are tons of fun!
" I just don't feel like it"....good enough for me......Your final speed run and into the woods you wore gloves....hopefully a helmet, etc. TY
Had fun with this bike, thanks for watching!
Awesome video. I've always loved this bike , had two in the past , now I need another. Thanks again for the awesomeness.

Did you do any ignition timing after assembly, or did you just stick the flywheel on and it ran?
