About to pick up one of these, Has a few issues but I hope I dont have to dive this far into repair! But If I do I got this great video to look upon, Love the content!
Similar to mb5 engine. I bought an $85 wiseco piston once. Seized it a couple days after install. Since then I buy the cheapest $8 pistons I can find. Still smarts!
Hi Benny, I haven't done a 2-stroke motorcycle bottom end in about 40 years but I do 2-stroke outboards offten. On outboards we use loctite with a spray activator to seal the crank case haves. I seem to remember Yamaha 2-stroke dirtbikes requiring a similar treatment. That does not mean silicone is wrong. I have had outboards come in that the cases were sealed with silicone and they run fine. If I am spliting those cases I carefully inspect the sealing surfaces for gouges or poor finish. Then seal them the Factory way. I wouldn't hesitate to use hard permatex on rough surfaces though. I may have to try silicone some time. Always enjoy your videos. You do an admiral job explaining as you go. See you on the next one! Dave
Thanks Dave, I was tempted to use anaerobic sealer on the case halves I'm thinking that would be the most modern way, but this seemed to have silicone on it weather I'm right or wrong I don't know 😂 I did make sure the nicks and imperfections on the case had a good layer or sealer. Glad you're still with me!
Hey Kentucky.. I love your intro.. I consider myself a backyard Mickie mouse dirt bike mechanic lol.. But anyways I have a few KE 100s.. I got a I believe is a 2000 or 2001 ke 100.. I got it off a dude he said he was doing wheelies and dumped it and bent the shifter.. I’ve done rebuild on my other bikes but never lower end.. would I have to split the case in order to see what’s going on with the bend shifter ? The bike is in awesome condition but just has been abused by getting dumped doing wheelies.. thank you.
why i assemble my ke engine and no theres a shift to 5 gear and no neutral and i been testing in road and something happen engine break and i go home dismantle the engine and broken 3 gear?
I had this bike but the crankshaft alignment value showed 0.1mm service limit...what is it mean?what is service limit?but standard value showed 0.03mm...what is the correct alignment value...?which side the 0.1mm value is required?wheather rotary disc side or magnet side?
Both the side of crankshaft how much maximum value was there?i want to know the value, wheather it was a stock crankshaft or reworked crankshaft? Ur work is good to see...👍
i have a older ke100 and it boggs down when i rev it at all, i have tried everything, spark plugs, carb clean, oiler work, cleaning the exhaust, new exhaust packing and im just wore out..... anyone know what to do? pls help.....
@@boots1807 There are some ke100 Facebook groups, if you could make a video with your phone showing what it's doing and post on one of those groups bet someone will know what's going on. Good luck!

Can you please tell me where I can find parts for my KE100 I need a stator and a few other parts.
Other than Ebay I don't know. I recommend joining a Facebook group, you can find parts there too.
Good video, 99% of us are sloppy!
I try my best but seems I can't get away from making mistakes lol!
Does anyone know the torque specs for the flywheel and drive gear?

I'm sorry it's been awhile since I worked on this bike. I do have a video disassembling the engine should show the shifter shaft in there.

This 0.1mm value showed in service catalogue...

Could be an air leak at the crank seals
@@kentuckyyankee i just had the motor rebuilt and new seals so i dont think its that but maybe they where bad seals
