This band is rapidly moving up on my list of favorite bands. I had seen one of their videos, and while it was good, for some reason I didn't follow up on them. However, I've really enjoyed the 2 videos that you've reacted to. I need to quit sleeping and follow up more. Thanks for the reaction! Peace!
I'm late to the reaction, but the party is still going since it's Trident. 'Repaint' is their newest single if you're looking for a new song to react to. Cheers!
This was produced by Gaku Taura who produces a lot of Hanabie’s stuff. I wish they’d do more together, although Cry Out from the same EP - D-X - is a better song. This does showcase Asaka’s voice though which is seriously overlooked. She’s similar to a few other vocalists but just “better”.
This is one of my favorite songs from Trident - right up there with No Regret and Cry Out. They are a fantastic trio. Speaking of fantastic trios, I was fortunate to see Asterism tonight while on vacation in NYC. I discovered they were playing here and I had to see them. A free show and only about a 15 minute subway ride away. The show reinforced my conclusion that Hal-ca is the best female guitarist in Japan, if not the world. It is like taking the best of Midori and Miyako and putting that immense talent into one guitarist. By the way, I am guessing that y'all were talking about Midori and Miyako and that Lovebites is next.
This is their heaviest song to date and I hope they do more like it. However, I really like songs like Cry Out and Signal as well. They are just as good in a different way.
I think the lyrics regarding “left” and “right” are not about partisan politics (which have no role in the lives of typical Japanese), but rather imply the choice between two paths in life. This is a theme echoed in the song OROKANA MONOTACHI (Stupid People/Fools) by GLIM SPANKY. REMY asks, “the left, or the right … when it’s time to choose, which will you take?” - ua-cam.com/video/C9aDr97q7mc/v-deo.html
🤘😁🤘
Spoopy is such a great track. It’s one of my favourite songs, not just of Trident, but of all time.
