I didnt know much about Sarawak till i started working in Sarawak and immersed in the culture, most ppl from Semenanjung are damn ignorant and talk about diversity but to be honest i think Sarawakians are kind people and most accepting towards diversity.

That is so true that sarawakian know and can speak a lot of different languages and dialects. Me myself can speak at least 10 different dialects and languages. As a sarawakian who migrated to australia for over a decades I still remember my toungue language and great part is I am able to speak to a lot of my Asian patients here in Australia in their language (I'm a nurse and at the hospital i have pretty diverse patients)
Even tho I'm here for many years, sarawak is always close to my heart. I cannot wait to be home again someday ❤ Happy sarawak day to all fellow sarawakian, stay safe xx

In my opinion, If Sarawak was a INDEPENDENT country, it would be like New Zealand, ( for example, Like the NZ has two culture Anglo-maori, so Sarawak will had a anglo-sarawakian culture too) And most people in Sarawak should adopted English as official language, and Iban will be the language of rural areas, the official religion of Sarawak will be Christian, the Sarawak would be called "Federal democratic Republic of the Sarawak"
If our state became a Independent nation, we'll have a great maintain relationship with other southeast Asian countries, Why? Because Sarawak is a Brunei/British ex colony, They gave us independent, after that British want to merge our state into Malaya, Our currency gonna be Dollars or pound thats gonna be the best thing for among Sarawakian,Tbh, I'm so sorry for Offended every Malaysian who live in Peninsular, but that's my opinion, stay safe everyone :) 🙏

Nah gitulah sejarahnya.

In my view, me as a Sarawakian I feel that We need to teach and spread awareness to the whole Sarawak about July 22 as our Independence Day and how we fought for our freedom from the British Colonial Empire.
Because I feel that some Of my fellow Sarwakians including the young generation are still kind of confused by these 3 dates. They still think August 31st is the independence of Malaysia(including Sarawak) in which we had nothing to do with at all. In my opinion I think it would be better if August 31st was not public holiday in Sarawak lah. We had too many holidays and I felt like that should be scrapped and only be celebrated in Semenanjung aka Malaya cuz it is reasonable that Sarawak was not independent on 31st August 1957. Again, it’s my opinion. XD
Hiyah, can’t blame them lah, it is all because of our Malayan curriculum textbooks trying to brainwash the young generation of Sarawakians until they forget their own history and why Our state and Sabah has special rights in the MA63 that no other state in the peninsular could have.
In fact, we Sarawak and Sabah are not supposed to be states at all. We should be equal Partners within the Federation of Malaysia. That’s we are trying to restore our status by trying to change to Wilayah to reflect the true nature of these two states.

      No need to be rude.
In all honesty, July 22, 1963 was the day the last Governor of Sarawak left Kuching.
But still Sarawak Was British colony.
And in all honesty, Sarawak and Sabah are equal to other states.
No such thing as position of Sabah and Sarawak are higher than other states.
While it is good to be proud of Sarawak heritage, you too must embrace Aug 31, 1957.
      Just like USA.
It declared independence on Jul 4, 1776. Many states joined USA much later.
But they still accord reepsrct to 4 Jul 1776
