I like the large southern banh xeo. The ones I've had in Da Nang are a little squishy in the middle cuz it's thicker. I think I'll give the second place a try.
Talk about a "mouth watering" episode! Ban xeo is definitely one of my favorite Vietnamese foods. From what I saw, I would choose the second location. But I'd have to do the entire Ban xeo tour to verify. 🤣 😋
The dish was one of the first dishes we tried in HCM but we had no idea how to eat it. ... and didn't love it. Once we learned later how to eat it we loved it! lol.... Great video again!
theres multiple ways to eat it haha, depends where u are. I grew up eating it in a big bowl with TONS OF SAUCE no rice paper, just 2 banh xeo with lots of herbs and sauce, i still prefer that way, flavour bomb with everything in 1 bowl. I see central vietnam rolls it in rice paper then dip. Then i seen ppl eat with no rice paper and just dip the banh xeo in the sauce, keeping it crips.
@ChrissieSM Here and there, I guess we're just not used to all of the ingredients etc. We've only had food poisoning once in Vung Tau the first year we arrived, in late 2022! 😂
@Limewire1984 that's how we grew up eating it as well, without the rice paper! we enjoy both, but with the banh trang it definitely is more filling, so you can't eat as many banh xeo's as you'd like 😂
Mouthwatering!
It was so good!!
I have never had a Vietnamese pancake, I have to definitely try it out it looks so good.
Yes! When you get the chance, definitely try it. Crispy goodness 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed the banh xeo at the first location u guys went. Will definitely go there again during my next visit to Danang.
So unique and tasty! We really enjoyed it as well 😄

Although both are different, it kind of depends on the mood but we generally prefer the large southern banh xeos too!

Haha! Its such a good dish and you can definitely eat more of it with all the herbs 🫶🏼

That's how we grew up eating it too! Our parents would use the lettuce and herbs to wrap the banh xeo too 😊
Did you ever had tummy upsets while travelling? This is the one thing I dread when going abroad.

So tasty!!
A long time ago, in Saigon, I ate banh xeo with some sort of leafy greens instead of the banh trang [the rice papers].
@Limewire1984 that's how we grew up eating it as well, without the rice paper! we enjoy both, but with the banh trang it definitely is more filling, so you can't eat as many banh xeo's as you'd like 😂
When you eat banh xeo, just wrap it with lettuce, don't wrap with rice paper,
Believe me,eating banh xeo with out rice paper is better.
This is how we learnt to eat banh xeo when were younger! You can eat more too hehe 😜
A BIG no to the last place. Seems too fusion and not authentic
We felt the same!
Strange have pre cooked crepes, the first Restaurant you visited, never seen that before...
We thought the same thing too.. and with eggs? Super unique, we didn't mind it at all!!
