I have been watching ur videos non-stop these days... trying to catch up since ive only recently discovered ur channel. 😅 great work! Ur videos have been very educational and since i havent been overseas for 5 years, these videos r great! And i wanna visit Vietnam because of your videos. 😁
As long as Vietnam is still ruled by the oppressive and exploitive Communist regime, her potential remains greatly diminished. For any 1% that wants to stay, 99% of the population wants to get out, and many have risked their lives doing just that (for example, 39 doomed lives found in UK container truck recently on the news, and that's only what's been reported), unfortunately. Yet another shocking and also recent example is that during the Covid pandemic when almost all countries assisted their citizens with financial aids in one form or another, the corrupt and murderous Vietnamese Commie regime saw it just as another opportunity not to help but to exploit its ruled citizens even more, essentially making money over the corpses of its citizens by presumably killing at least 30-50K of them, due to grossly misdiagnoses and being thrown into barbwired unhygenic living quarters for isolation, so that they had to sleep on concrete floor, even next to filled trashcans, with inadequate toilet, food, water, or medicine, like animals (searching hard enough, one is able to see shocking video clips on Facebook though the regime tried hard to crack down the leaks by Vietnamese citizen journalists), with the fake nostril Covid test kits, mislabeled as approved by World Health Organization (WHO) in Việt Á scandal, colluded by at least 4 different government agencies (Y Tế , Khoa Học, Công Nghệ, Quân y) and the top Politburo members, including Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Phạm Minh Chính, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Murderous Vietnamese Commie regime even had a thug murdered Christian pastor Giuse Trần Ngọc Thanh, like it has done with many other pastors across the nation. There is a reason why the current Commie Vietnam ranks at the bottom of the world in freedom of speech, (true) freedom of religion, and freedom of the press, barely above Commie China and Commie North Korea. There is no true freedom of religion in Commie Vietnam, as this corrupt Vietnamese Commie regime only authorized the fake organizations headed by Commie monks, many of whom were Commie Party officials, and those religious organizations not approved to be infiltrated by them or headed by their Commie agents are accused of malicious and nonexistent crimes and banned, with innocent religious leaders arrested and jailed, as in the recent case with Thiền Am Bên Bờ Vũ Trụ, a harmless Buddhist meditation monastery, for simply having many followers (hence, more influences that the regime fears it can't control) than the Commie Party's officially approved ones. Similarly, its passport ranks at the bottom, 89th out of 111 countries for a reason, barely above North Korea 104th rank. even below many African nations. For comparison, South Korea is at 2nd rank. That's what Republic of South Vietnam would have likely been ranked among at least the top 10 had it not been invaded and occupied by the North Vietnamese Commie terrorists, aided by Commie Soviet and Commie China. Search "cuop dat dan" (meaning "land-robbing of citizens") to see millions of footages across the country from North to South, spanning for decades, dated back to Ho Chi Minh's bloody land reform 1953-1956 that killed nearly 1 million North Vietnamese in only 4 years, or 250K people brutally slaughtered in torturous painful deaths (like being shot, stabbed, mutilated while being alive, or heads being plowed over by water buffaloes while bodies being buried underground) each year on average to rob their lands and homes. Even today, if the rightful owners refuse to have their homes or lands robbed, the ruthless Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime simply jail or massacre them, have tractors run over their bodies or openly assassinate them in their own homes. When it comes to robbing, these barbarian Vietnamese Commie bandits even prey on each other, just as the recent case with then 84-year-old Mr. Lê Đình Kình, a 55-year-Commie Party veteran from Dong Tam, near Hanoi, that got shot dead at 3am in his own home by the Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime. When his wife Mrs. Dư Thị Thành refused to lie about the incident as ordered, the Vietnamese Commie terrorist police brutally tortured her (see more details from "dandongtam" on Facebook). The corrupt Vietnamese Commie government officials routinely dine on lavish gold-plated Salt Bae steak $100K per meal with blood money not just from taxpayers but also from robbed-lands and robbed homes recently drew international condemnations, while many Vietnamese citizens, including elderlies in their 60's and 70's as well as kids as young as 6's to 16's selling lottery tickets on the streets to survive on $2-3 per day. Even Phạm Nhật Vượng the richest man in Vietnam (via his VinGroup) made the bulk of his wealth mainly by colluding with the barbarian Vietnamese Commie regime in selling their robbed-lands from Vietnamese citizens. Travelers to Vietnam in her current form (not at all like this before the Communists took over) should keep this in mind. Behind the beauty of the land and smiling faces at popular tourist destinations, there are a lot of darkness and tears, bloods, sweats, sorrow, horror, and sufferings all over the country.
I am French and you crack me up with your “bunch of dude from France did that for us”! Lol. By the way everyone know the best Pho is in Hanoi where I go! Great job with you channel. Love it!
as a local there, i would say they have premium price but also premium food i won't say there're better places for cheaper prices because they each got their own style that most cheaper place don't have
Sonny, I was laughing at your comment about silly Frenchmen coming to Vietnam to rate local street food. I know you know on France's long colonial history (good, bad, everything) in Vietnam and how could you not ignore the excellent French bread rolls at your last restaurant!! Silly Frenchmen indeed!!! Loved this video!
I am a food lover so I love to watch your channel videos, you are always there with us with some amazing food, I love it even more, thank you very much
I really love Pho noodles in Vietnam. The noodles are totally soft and fresh, and the broth is absolutely flavorful. It's just authentic. You have to go Vietnam to experience the real taste of delicious Pho!
Broth is great but the water quality needs to be boiled longer because its so dirty and they take short cuts raising the cows you eat there. You need to ignore these facts to be a blissful as you are commenting
Dear Sonny and BEFRS. I appreciate how Therapy is a major sponsor of your channel since a while now - this is great - it offers help to those who are unable to, for one reason or another to go to a therapist yet needs and deserve support. Cheers to you and your great content!
I love oxtail, it's absolutely one of my favorite foods, my mom used to cook it for me in soups as a kid. Those oxtail look very fresh, there's a down side to that, for me, fresh oxtail gives me diarrhea because it's too rich in fat. My local meat market sells them fresh off the cow and every time I cook them it gives me diarrhea...so good eating them, but not so good coming out. Cutting the joints in 2-3 slices by the butcher makes them good and controls how much you eat and kinda takes care of the richness.
If you are using MSG, that can be what makes you go to the restroom. In time you can become allergic to MSG. I found that out a couple years back. I stopped using MSG. Problem solve.
@@taotzu1339 I use msg in some things, but not oxtail, it really has it's own umami touch. If I buy them at like a walmart or wholefoods, I don't get like that from them, I guess it's because they're aged and some of the fat is trimmed. The butcher's meat isn't really aged and definitely not as aged as a grocery store, I can get aged steak at the butcher but I have to call them ahead of time.
We were just there at Com Tam Ba Ghien this year. It was undoubtedly the best meal I had during my stay in Saigon. It was within walking distance from my cousin’s house that we visited. I was actually hoping to run into you (Sonny) at some point.
Wow! Sonny, so glad you’re back. Missed you and your crew! A friend took your advice and notified me that your show is airing again. Subscribed and put notifications on. Hip Hip!
I've had com tam a million times (I live in Nam) and that looks spectacular. It's mostly mass cooked for quick cheap consumption and you'll pass dozens and dozens of small walk-ins or stalls on every street. I prefer com ga (chicken) with lime, salt, and pepper. These however are very stereotypical ubiquitous foods and do not reflect the amazing variety of cuisine here. There's a reason Anthony Bourdain said Vietnam had his favourite foods and also why Gordon Ramsay raves about it.
Thank you for all your videos man! I really enjoy your jokes and the places you visit. Blessings and you should come to La Paz Mexico (my hometown) and try our gastronomy. Positive vibes sent your way! 🙏🏻
Sonny, if there is a current UA-cam food channel that deserves a Michelin Star it's yours. You're no Anthony Bourdain but you come in a distant second place! Love it and keep up the great content!
Pho Phuong is 5 doors down from my grandma's house. Got a chance to eat it again when I visited Vietnam in Jan. Our house has been there since the early stage development of Saigon, so much have been changing!
I dont know if hong phat recieved a star, but they are on the guide and they opened a location in vancouver and its pretty good, and carry alot of dishes that most vietnamese resteraunt don't have here.
Hi Sonny! We are currently in Ho Chi Minh and went to Com Tam Ba Ghien because of your video! Was hoping we bumped into you lol going to try the Pho that was recommended in your video tomorrow just before lunch! We hope to bump into you and your wife before we leave on the 25th to Thailand! Cheers! ❤
2:26 quite nostalgic, used to studied at Ngô Tất Tố middle school, which is a nearby school on the same road. Ba Giềng served pretty good food but it was already quite expensive back then. I expect them to be even more so now that they got the Michelin star.
The secret recipe for pork chops is fish sauce, oyster sauce, lemon grass, ginger (and or galangal), lime, salt, sugar, MSG, pepper, and garlic. The secret is the ratio of each used.
I got to Ho Chi Minh during Tet this year, and while it was beautiful with all the blossoming flowers and beautiful decorations... It was a metropolitan ghost town, eerie and amazing! Don't get me wrong, plenty of people still living daily lives but, a lot of restaurants / street vendors were closed. Nevertheless, I loved my experience and need to return! I'm thankful my visit to Hanoi really shined in food and exploration. Much love to Vietnamese friends.
during tet holiday actually is a bad time for traveler to visit vietnam, people here basically turn off almost every service and go home with their family so if you want to visit vietnam during this time, you should get a vietnam friend and they will introduce you everything, there always some vietnamese people that don't mind to help other foreigner so don't be shy and just ask some vietnamese to help
@@d-rabbit8191 One of the Hotel I stayed at had a family that took good care of me. I saw some amazing fireworks and ate well. I was unaware and now I know. :D
Most people who live im Ho Chi Minh city are originally from other small cities. It is Tet tradition that we visit our hometown during Tet, so restaurants will shut down.
It's not a michelin star, just a michelin recommendation, their recommendation as way lower standard than their starred restaurant. It basicly mean if you're nearby it 's not a bad place to eat when a star mean you want to go to that place to eat
WOOOAHH!! WAIT A MINUTE THERE SUNNY!!.. I've absolutely been a SUPER-FAN of Best Ever Food Review Show for EVER!! For thee longest frickin time now okay!! And I'm constantly checking to see if you have a new uploaded video!! But NEVER have I ever even heard Sonny say anything at all about THIS channel for "MORE of BEFRS" Videos 😅😅 I'm dead-ass serious!! Why haven't I heard of it, you don't mention it in your other videos like AT. ALL!!.. Or I would have watched these too!! Uuugh thank God I just found this new channel of yours because I am soooo totally about to watch ALL of them right now!!... Aaaaandd probably get hungry in the process!! 😅😅HAHA but that's okay because whatever I see in these videos I swear I gotta go try it!! Lol... Anyways thanks again for this secondary channel!! 😎👍🏽😎👍🏽
I like Sonny's facial expression when he said: "... but a bunch of dudes from French did that job for us!" Yep, rating our local street food ="))! NAILED it!!
I would choose the Pho #1 choice and then the broken rice #2! Freaking delicious Vietnamese food. Nothing in the states can compare to real Vietnam food 😢😢😢
Not gonna lie= most of that looked bomb. Pho is Pho- I like soup but it's not something I would want to eat all the time and I've had really awesome Pho's before. The porkchop looked incredible. I want to add- I've always hated how pretentious 'cuisine' can be- I don't care if there's a fan blowing on the coals or a group of 10 slaves, if the end result works= It Works, lol. Ohhh, and the best for last. Americans have almost Never tried snails. The French have shops too where that is all that is sold- and Boy= super yummo. I swear anything that once lived in a shell= can't be beat. Even arachnids are supposed to taste like crab, hahaha. Anywho, another great show- as always. Curious when you are going to stop doing your review show and maybe focus on doing a documentary. I'd imagine you have aspirations beyond filming yourself eating stuff and being witty. Maybe you should be indulging that... no?
I love Vietnamese food so much!! Unfortunately I have only had Pho in Saigon even though I stayed there for a whole week, that explains how much I love Pho, and also was stupid enough I didn't try other food there.
OMG, Im Vietnamese (live in Saigon - the south) and I really love Hanoi cuisine. How can you just try Pho? Whenever travel to HN, I'm always try Bún Chả, Ngan Cháy Tỏi, Chả cá Lã Vọng, Cháo sườn, Cơm rang dưa bò, BBQ... many tasty food there :3
I've been to Com Tam Ba Chien many times! Best pork chop ever. I haven't been able to find anything close in the states. The cooking method, the freshness of the pork (likely slaughtered within a day), the secret sauce won't be replicated here.
Meat in Vietnam is slaughtered on the same day. Vietnamese people believe that frozen meat is not good for health, so no housewife wants to buy frozen meat. You can ask any chef for the dipping sauce recipe and they will share it.
I’ve boughten two sets of Michelin defenders for two different cars now and they are great tires. Always remember to rotate them every 10,000 miles or so though.
Lovely Video. I was in HCMC in April and the place was my least favorite in SEA. Just very hot, polluted and loud. I am sure the food can be good there though.
Vietnam is a small country that cannot harm America, it took 20 years of a crazy war to realize that we are friends, hell with that war, currently the relationship between the two countries is very good, see you meet you all around the world in the beautiful country of Vietnam, I love you all
for anyone want to try the taste of grilled meat like this in Vietnam, you only need fish sauce, dices garlics and onions, salt and sugar (that’s the main ingredients). Marinate the meat for about a few hour to overnight then grill over charcoal until slightly charred or when it’s turned slightly brown

Your freaking out over the camera zooming in whenever u took a bite had me 💀. That was so funny. Tnx for the laugh once again 😂
It's Sonny's wife with the camera!
I always noticed it too
5:25 best Mark Wein impression I’ve ever seen
The beginning 😂😂😂
"Wow, look at that dude, what are strong guy."
Ive never made it but i loooove pho. I sometimes use the ready made base version and add in noodles and pork belly slices with some veggies. Love it
I love broken rice and the one you had looked fantastic 🍚
Cheers! ❤
Fascinating video Sunny!
2:26 quite nostalgic, used to studied at Ngô Tất Tố middle school, which is a nearby school on the same road. Ba Giềng served pretty good food but it was already quite expensive back then. I expect them to be even more so now that they got the Michelin star.
Just landed in Ho Chi Minh yesterday, would have totally eaten everything with you! Gonna have to make my own Michelin guide video now.
ai ăn haram sẽ xuống địa ngục
Had to comment...
12:23 Sonny you absolutely nailed the pronunciation! Well done sir! 🤗
I'm a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine and snails, would love to try that last place 🐌😋
Đồng bọn của tôi đây rồi :))
The secret recipe for pork chops is fish sauce, oyster sauce, lemon grass, ginger (and or galangal), lime, salt, sugar, MSG, pepper, and garlic. The secret is the ratio of each used.
😂 sẽ không ai cân hay đong nó bằng thìa để ra công thức chuẩn. Thường thì ta sẽ pha bằng kinh nghiệm nên người nước ngoài họ tưởng là dấy bí kíp 😂😂😂
Haha, because it's Tet =)))) everybody come back to their hometown and the city will be a ghost town (like you said) =)))
Sao không về quê? Tết ai cũng về nhà và ở nhà sẽ là 10 ngày tiệc cho đến hết 15/1 âm lịch
Known you since the very 1st time you came to Vn, videos always good, quality, humor and true! Appreciate everything you've done
$4 for a michelin star pho is insane, especially with that much meat! It'd be $25 in the states lol.
Right?! The price for all that was crazy cheap.
After you are used to local prices 4$ for a bowl will shock you 😅
people in viet nam make like 1,5 us $ per hour, it not cheap at all
It's not a michelin star, just a michelin recommendation, their recommendation as way lower standard than their starred restaurant. It basicly mean if you're nearby it 's not a bad place to eat when a star mean you want to go to that place to eat
@@sebastiangeorge77144 dollars isn't bad. Above average but not unaffordable.
Thank you for your kind words and showing positive reviews of our cultures to the world ❤
great food video
5:57 with that much fish sauce…you know that’s salty…don’t lie🎉😂❤
Anh nên ăn chả cá Lã Vọng một lần trong đời khi đến Việt Nam,Chả Cá Lã Vọng cực ngon❤
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. MAD LOVE SONNY AND WIFEY!!
Love Viet Nam food❤
I like Sonny's facial expression when he said: "... but a bunch of dudes from French did that job for us!" Yep, rating our local street food ="))! NAILED it!!
Another awesome video mate.
hey besties great video as usual
I would choose the Pho #1 choice and then the broken rice #2! Freaking delicious Vietnamese food. Nothing in the states can compare to real Vietnam food 😢😢😢
Glad to hear that you like Vietnam food 😁
My dad was in Vietnam recently - the photos he sent of the food were enough to make me envy him😂
no such thing as havx or bettx or etc or envx etc
It’s worth a try! Look so delicious 😮
Brilliant video as always, Sonny. That pho really looked like a bowl of bun bo gio heo Hue to me.
I'll visit Vietnam soon i gotta try this BIG THANK Sony
Maybe you should be indulging that... no?
I loved the end that he just let it go. 😂😂🎉 great work
Vietnam Michelin star food makes me hungry in this video already
I love Vietnamese food so much!! Unfortunately I have only had Pho in Saigon even though I stayed there for a whole week, that explains how much I love Pho, and also was stupid enough I didn't try other food there.
Oops, it was Hanoi I stayed, too excited to type here..
OMG, Im Vietnamese (live in Saigon - the south) and I really love Hanoi cuisine. How can you just try Pho? Whenever travel to HN, I'm always try Bún Chả, Ngan Cháy Tỏi, Chả cá Lã Vọng, Cháo sườn, Cơm rang dưa bò, BBQ... many tasty food there :3
@@Phucloj I know!! I am gonna try ALL the dishes you mentioned above next time when I am in Vietnam. Thanks for your recommendations☺
bun bo huế is better than pho
You're the best food reviewer on the internet my man!
I can't stand watching your videos you always make me drool with the food 🤓
Com Tam from the right place is my favorite Vietnamese dish ever. Over Pho and Bun bo hue.
You can ask any chef for the dipping sauce recipe and they will share it.
why is a tire company rating food?(you answered this seriously thank you honestly you're the first to explain it)
I've watched all of your videos, but Vietnam has the best food in the world!
I like the snails. Vietnamese sauces really go well with seafood
I’ve boughten two sets of Michelin defenders for two different cars now and they are great tires. Always remember to rotate them every 10,000 miles or so though.
The little tomato, on the last one, so cute.
Hola from NY, Can ypu do a video on vending machines in Japan, Im a newbie trying to catch up.Getting a lot of info ✌
Lovely Video. I was in HCMC in April and the place was my least favorite in SEA. Just very hot, polluted and loud. I am sure the food can be good there though.
5:27 Is this dish called; Mark Said Hi To You?
love the Vietnam videos, more please!!!
Wow.. I've never eaten a snail. It looks amazing. I'll have to get a good recipe and make some for myself. I've never seen any around here anywhere
one of the best episodes in years
Hello from Trinidad
THANKS SONNY‼️👍❤️⭐️keep up the great eats🇨🇦❤️ 17:44
Thanks for sharing this brother 👍
Sonny always funny thank you
Vietnam is a small country that cannot harm America, it took 20 years of a crazy war to realize that we are friends, hell with that war, currently the relationship between the two countries is very good, see you meet you all around the world in the beautiful country of Vietnam, I love you all
Hummmmm. Humm humm. This is my review. Best channel ever❤
for anyone want to try the taste of grilled meat like this in Vietnam, you only need fish sauce, dices garlics and onions, salt and sugar (that’s the main ingredients). Marinate the meat for about a few hour to overnight then grill over charcoal until slightly charred or when it’s turned slightly brown
some people go to therapy. I come on to youtube and watch the best ever food review show, who then tells me to go to therapy 😅😅
