Back to the day when I was in my early 20s I was into ww2 military vehicles and I hooked up with a bunch of guys who had them too and we were always looking for parts for them. We found a Jeep warehouse where they demoed and sold parts. This was in the late 70s early 80s. They had a huge dunpster behind the building and when parts got to the point of no longer being popular to sell they dumped the brand new leftover parts in the dumpster. Most of it was for mid 60s to mid 70s Jeeps and jeep pickups etc. We got a pile of master cylinders and other good stuff and my buddy had just got a jeep wagoneer so he took a chance and put one of the master cylinders on it and it truly was brand new and worked perfectly. I looked up what all parts were for and we sold all of them for great prices and made some money. It would have been a waste for all that stuff to be scrapped being brand new. They got wise shortly after to our dumpster diving and locked everything up but it was a fun time and made some extra money and gave people some good deals on new parts. I hope you stay hooked up with those guys and sharing with all of us.

Those 7970's aren't very well supported anymore. I gave a friend an old 7950 3GB and it was not much faster than their onboard graphics. They also only support the directx 11.1 featureset so that is also an issue with many games.

But people still game on GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 760, and an HD 7950 is better, I had it, then R9 290 and RX 580. The only downside is the power consumption, but on a decent 500-600w PSU you can play what, 60-70% of the games? at least on medium settings on fullhd with it.
@Jeffrey Grindle AMD released a new Adrenalin 21.5.2 driver like 4.5 months ago but the actual drivers in the package included for the HD7900 series cards are legacy. In other words, the driver package is new but the actual driver support in the package for such an old card has not changed much since March of 2016 when AMD made their last major performance tweaks to the HD7900 series driver. The point here is that the HD 7950 and HD7970 are 10-11 years old and it doesn't make a lot of sense to try and make them work anymore when you are lucky to get 0.1% low 30 FPS at 1440P with settings at medium or low on any modern game that supports it unless you have no other choice.
@@cosminmilitaru9920 She did install the latest driver available for the HD7950 and it is performing worse than the Ryzen 5700G integrated graphics at 1440P for 1% and 0.1% lows with low-medium settings. On Wednesday I pulled a mint condition 2011 Core i5 Mac Mini from a dumpster behind an office building. It was still running OS X 10.8.0. Nuked everything on the drive and installed High Sierra and it's working flawlessly.
I've come across a few of these parts recyclers in Melbourne but they are much more savvy than this. They pick through the stuff and sell the working stuff for full retail. Doesn't mean there aren't deals to be had (decent brand PSUs for $20-25, basic 1155 mobos for $50 or $60) but nothing like what these guys were offering you. Keep them close and hope they don't realise they can make a lot more money by doing with the parts what you are ultimately doing with them!
Lga pins are extremely delicate. The PGA pins are simple to replace/repair. None are the cheapest to fix but they are very fixable. The gold part is the actual cpu and what they can do under their shells

Nice job on bending the pins back I have only done it once on a motherboard and and was not successful in getting the MB to work. Plus my eyes are so bad I have to use a magnifying glass and strong lighting to see the pins properly.
Previous treasure can still be treasure if you are good at cleaning! I still slap myself for throwing away my old motherboard that had paper towel fragments in the pins (Intel motherboard) because the computer was not powering on but it turned out I did not plug the "CPU" Power into the Modular power supply. I lost $150 replacing it with the same board just not the loved red. Stuck with the multicolor lightshow all night now, haha. It's fine, I just sleep on my right side now and all is fine. I was pretty darn sick (literally brain sick. MS so it's fine, I had no brain) and I should have just cleaned out the socket. I hope someone else like you had the desire to repair parts from the trash and had a great motherboard for the core i7 6800k (I will upgrade to the current age soon but my 970 GPU keeps everything running very smoothly)

I've been looking for a U.S. spray equivalent to your Aussie Multi Purpose spray for a long while. CRC isn't bad, but it's so expensive. I'd love to hear some other recommendations.
I use PB Blaster silicone. Silicone won't conduct electricity or react chemically with the components. Overusing it can prevent parts from working by insulating the contacts so as long as you don't use too much it works well.
I like that Bundaberg soda. It has Sarsaparilla in it. There was a period of about a month or two when a local shop had it, never seen it before or since, I live in Denmark.

The average framerate is slighty higher on the HD7950 in many games but the tearing and framerate dips are significant.
Government Buildings' Libraries Courthouses law firms, firestations the DMV tend to throw out Computers pc parts and such and are good places to look if you are into the dumpster diving situation
In my country it's illegal to take from shop bins. They even show people on the news who get caught for doing it. Personally I think it's just a form of recycling.
Now THIS is a dumpster i would swim on
Love the music, love that you give second life to someone's junk.
I like the way you look for value in hardware that still performs great today it's much more interesting too watch than reviews of the latest an greatest hardware most of the time(the new reviews are cool when stuff drops but these videos are more entertaining) the PC hustle and parts hunt is your roots. Keep it going.
I've built myself a working computer out of three computers i found in a dumpster. I use it just for watching movies on my tv. Specs are: Q9550, gt 730, 4gb ddr2 800mhz, 550 watt psu, 500gig Hdd, 120 gig ssd (i bought for os) Still works to this day after 4 years.
Bry, you are the man and clearly a legend in keeping e-waste containing lead, mercury, cadmium, a number of carcinogens and other nasties out of landfills and the water table.
Thank you, Bry for all you do in not only keeping pc gaming alive but also inspiring others
to take better care of our irreplaceable natural environments.
I have access to a bunch of those little dell PCs, I'd love to see what you can do with one!
I love your videos. I feel grateful of the prices in my country (Bulgaria) when I look at the prices you get from a dealer/supplier.
I deal mostly with the same type of hardware you do. I buy Laptops, Office computers (5pcs or more), I build gaming computers with 1155, 1150, 1151 motherboards with brand new gaming cases and sell them to people who can't afford new PC's. I know people are interested in prices, so I will put some prices: 120GB SSD new with 3y warranty - 10 usd, 240GB - 15 usd. Second hand 120gb SSD (Tested) - 3 usd. GTX 970 - 50 USD, GTX 1050 2GB - 30 USD (tested), CPU's i3 4th gen (tested) - 3 usd etc. If you need something i can send you.
great find brian!!!.....ill be glad to see it when prices get better so i can flip again....plus i love to hook ppl up with nice pcs at a nice price..love the vids!!
happy for ya dude.. cause in my book, dumpster pc's are the best !
I still pull any and all tech hardware I find dumpster diving. You'd be surprised at what people write off.
On Wednesday I pulled a mint condition 2011 Core i5 Mac Mini from a dumpster behind an office building. It was still running OS X 10.8.0. Nuked everything on the drive and installed High Sierra and it's working flawlessly.
Used Macs fetch so much coin im finding... last one I picked up for $100 i flipped for $1300...
One of the best parts of the PC building community. Started on a 486SX with some no name parts thrown together ^.^
yes please make more behind the scenes content!, id love to watch your videos several times a week. You're just so awesome to watch.
Love it when Bryan finds a good deal, the positivity is awesome
Lga pins are extremely delicate. The PGA pins are simple to replace/repair. None are the cheapest to fix but they are very fixable. The gold part is the actual cpu and what they can do under their shells
That's the fix we all NEEDED! 😳😎🤙
I've quite literally found a 1080 in a dumpster before. Fully worked too
Seeing all those PC parts in a dumpster it hurts my heart, sometimes they just need a little bit of love.
My favorite deal part hunt from you was the dumpster free put back to work motherboards jiji. Great video & deal hunt Brian. Keep coming those great videos stay safe thou.
that rampage x79 black edition is one of a kind glad that you made it work
Love it, Bry!!! Those are some of the best deals I've seen you get! Can't wait to see you build a budget gaming rig from some of these parts. The price/performance is going to be off the charts!
What a amazing car! The channel still shows the best content. Thank you Brian, hope you are doing well.
Not sure if you d/c'd the GPU fans before spinning the blades with the vacuum, but if you didn't - the fans can work as a generator and push voltage into the fan header
“Oscar the Grouch” minus the Grouch 😆😝☺️😛🥰🥳 Way to score some great deals 😜.
I have 2 of them ASUS P8H77-V LE - They are decent with an i5 3570K built my daughter and GF and GPC with them... Nice to see so much energy remains here on this channel watched Timmy Joes last video yesterday - RIP those channels that didnt make it through these times - Be Lucky Bry - all the best to you and the Famalam! 🤗
Yes, Timmy Joe's video was chastening, but perhaps he's come out the other side to a better place - for him, anyway.
Timmy was an arrogant prick who thought to much of himself and often times told wrong information and broke shit. Nevermind his child like tantrums. Good Riddance to timmy joe
Amazing freaking video. It’s a good day when you bring a motherboard back from the dead.
"Some might call this Junk, Brian call them treasure"
Belethor.
Your channel is one of the best PC related channels on youtube. You really deserve far more subs. Keep up the good work!
Great video! Love the content, the positively and the energy! Lets go! Good energy vibes all week!
NGL, saw those "L" shaped motherboards on top of that pile and about jumped out of my chair: I thought those were Amiga 1200 motherboards! :O
GOD if only
Those ASUS X79 motherboards still go for £200 - £300 in the UK (and are often priced £400+ on ebay).
Nice job on bending the pins back I have only done it once on a motherboard and and was not successful in getting the MB to work. Plus my eyes are so bad I have to use a magnifying glass and strong lighting to see the pins properly.
I have problems with not being able enough to bypass my brain's rule correction. It is difficult to spot the bent pins.
Great work!
A little off topic, but where do you vet your poster frames from?
Once i found a Geforce2 in the trash but I’ve never been able to plug it in and check if the dang thing works. Oldschool part tho I like
Those intel X79 SR motherboards are so rare these days now. Worth a pretty penny 👌🏼
😎 Love your dumpster diving episodes. Always learning something new from your videos. Thanks!
New suscriber here! Wow... the things I have seem in your two dumpster dive video are mindblowing! I´m stuck in Argentina and getting things like that sound like a dream for me!!
Dumpster diving love it. Remind me how I made my 1st pc of old school pc’s they were throwing out in mass
These are the best kinds of TYC videos
I've been searching dumpsters for years and never found one piece of computer equipment. Must be nice.
There was a period of about a month or two when a local shop had it, never seen it before or since, I live in Denmark.
check your local laws because in the USA this is highly illegal to do, fines are TresPass up to 10,000$.
In the fall last year I bought locally used 8th Gen i7-8700 and Asus ROG Strix Z390-E motherboard for $50 US dollars total. During the time finding a GPU was like a needle in a haystack bought locally a used EVGA GTX 1080 SC 8GB for $50 US dollars.
the dell small form factor pcs can be converted to a normal mid tower case, just swap out the power supply, chuck a intel cpu cooler on it. You will have to splice a few wires to convert power button but can be done
Tech Yes City, Man you are an awesome UA-camr and petrol head in the world of PC! :). I can see you do love what you are doing and you give a second life to these awesome hardware. Keep it up man!
I really want to see the builds you create from all the parts you hunt!
My luck, ie, bad, was buying 4 off 3rd Gen MBs in a row that all started, but then died within a few days of heat cycles - lol -. I replaced a few shorted ICs and got at least 2 running again.
DUDE WHAT A HAUL. If you were in the US or I Australia I'd be camped out in front of your HOUSE bro waiting to get in on the sales you're gonna have!
The question of the day I've been asking for years lol. Still haven't found anything perfect. The best one so far is CRC Powerlube here in the U.S.A. works well tough it's a little thick, but no where near as thick (or smelly) as WD-40..
Watching you in action makes me wanna go build pcs for a living
Throwing Rampage 3 and 4 boards in the bin, people collect those boards even if they are now working !
The 3600 & b450 is the best deal to me. I'd snap that up so fast. Great dive Brian.
"anything is kinda junk i like turning it to a treasure" man i love ur content!
How good is this video? So fun mate. You are seeming way happier lately and it’s great to see! Go the Brissie / Gold Coast massive. :) btw awesome tunes in this one
i cant wait to see all the gaming pc you are going to build with those hardware. You will make a good profit for sure
untested for sure there was no way they can test those with pins bent. good stuff!
woah that's amazing
specially that 10pins to 24pins you soldered though that's not advisable
and i was about ask what kind of all purpose spray you're using to clean those pc parts, but my question got answered at the end of the video ;)
