Hi Ephraim, I attempted to take apart and clean my automatic reel. I wouldn't advise it. They have a long clock spring that can easily be "sprung" and nearly impossible to reinstall.
Seriously, thanks for the help, but please never tell people to “just take the line off” before washing the reel. I ended up with such a rats nest that I just had to throw out my $120 Flyline. Yes, it was brain dead stupid of me to do that but I’m a beginner and I wish your instructions for warned me. Thanks a bunch.
What would be your recommendation for repairing dings and missing paint on a reel? I slipped and fell on a big boulder it’s not dented but some of the metal peeled up and removed some of the paint got a little smashed
Very funny, someone who does not maintain their reels after each fishing trip. Then not cleaning them until they get rust corrosion and deep grime giving a reel cleaning/maintenance video???
Hi, nice video on basic maintenance. If you could do a more detailed video on the same kind of reel for drag maintenance it would be nice..
Hi Vikram, Thanks for the suggestion. I could pick a popular reel and clean the drag.
Thanks. I was looking for the a drag maintenance of the kind of reel as shown above. With a bar drag. Unsealed.
Great job . Thank you so much
Vikram raghavan ok thanks!

Please can you make a video how to install that spool lever please help...
Thanks 🐟👍
So do we not have to pack the bearing with grease every time we clean?
Light sewing oil should do the trick.

Good recommendation
What about the drag pins on the other side?
I don't suggest folks open up that side of the reel. Lots of small springs can quickly become lost.

Eric Meyer Hi and thanks. Let me know how I can help.
Hi Eric, thanks for the comment. let me know a little more about what your asking. I'd love to help.
What reel is that?
Vision koma
Thanks 🐟👍
Ahhh! It's Heisenberg!
This was the exact moment that an ordinary fly fisherman became Heisenberg.
Thanks 🐟👍
don't you want to wash the soapy water off?
Hi Juan, great comment. I haven't worried about it. I use a very small amount of soap. Thanks
