Wemby has done most of his work creating for himself and taking what the defense gives him. But Wemby does get all of the defensive attention any time he touches the ball he either doubled or tripled team yet he finds away to score when his team needs it the most. Chet has been really good. There are just levels to it and Wemby is on another level

I don’t like how he tried to paint this picture that Wemby cares more about personal achievements vs winning. If you actually watch his interviews after games or during games. Thats so far from the truth. Awards and stats do matter to him but he will be the 1st to say winning is always first to him but he won’t diminish as he knows to be considered great you need wins, stats and awards and he wants all of it. I am 100% sure you don’t watch post games and games themselves for spurs. Maybe when you watched the last game vs Chet Wemby and Chet share similar competitive nature and don’t back down. I watch both teams regularly and Chet is definitely not the focal point of his team the way Victor is and Victor gets double (sometimes even triple teamed) right from the jump. Even the most ardent Thunder fan can't deny this since they had Jalen Williams and even Dort all rush over to help out Holmgren on defense whenever Victor had the ball.

Wemby is one of the top players in the league. Chet is having a very good rookie season. The assumption that chet is more contributing to winning than wemby is just absurd - because they are in a completely different situations. Chet is playing with mvp level player, allstar level player and a very good roster all around. If he wouldve play for the spurs they would be bad. If prime MJ wouldve played for the spurs, they would've been bad. You need to look at the stats and games of wemby, to understand that Chet is not even close. Wemby is a top 20 player already. Chet is not there yet - very good efficient season, playing a perfect role defensively and offensively. He might win a chip as a key contributer to his team - but he is not wemby
Spurs didn't even improve their season standings, in fact it's worse. Wemby has free leverage playing on a bad team and that's why his STATS, which you emphasized are better. He takes way more shots than Chet and is almost the same stats. At this point, all Wemby has are empty stats. I do agree is way better defensively and talent wise, is better than Chet but I don't agree with you that "it's not even close". LOL Like the video stated, evaluation for ROTY should not be only categorized because of individual stats. Efficiency should also be considered and Chet is doing that for the Thunder.

Victor is in an easier situation to get rookie of the year. On that current Spurs team, he is going to get the lion’s share of the shot attempts and time with the ball compared to Chet. If they were to switch teams the same thing would happen; Wemby would be more efficient but he would get less touches and Chet’s offensive numbers would go up. If Wemby gets it, congrats to him. He’s earned it. But overall Chet is in a better team situation to have greater team success.
How about rebounds? Assist? Blocks? And steals? Why cant chet dominate on other stuff since he is not the first option in offense? The other day, he has all the time to shine because sga is not playing and he scored two points lol
