Dude presti sounds like such a stand up guy man. Having that convo with giddey viewing him as an allstar but at the same time knowing he cant be that starting for this team and being a man and telling giddey that and allowing giddey to make a call himself.

People dont realize how good Caruso is because who really talks about Chicago? But watching the game you just see his aura and impact. When the game needs a big shift, Caruso is definitely that guy. It's like he's hunting for impact plays to secure the win. OKC better have nationally televised games. We need to secure this MVP for Shai and lock in all stars

Not sure how Thunder won the trade. Giddy scores more, gets more assists and more rebounds, and is 9 years younger. Why even draft a point guard if you are not going to use him for what he does best? Perhaps a good trade for Giddy.

Not gonna lie I’m going to miss Giddey a lot. I hoped that Sam wouldn’t trade him but deep inside I always knew it was the right move. He wasn’t a good fit with the team and it showed against Dallas. Still wish him the best!
Yup, I see a lot of my own playstyle in Giddey and I wanted him gone because he’ll fit another team better but now I feel like I lost a dog or something

Didn't Sam also say pretty recently that had OKC kept Green, we would have been better prepared for the modern NBA? That perhaps we would have cracked the code?
I do wonder if perhaps Josh Giddey would have helped us crack the code. Trading a number 6 pick for a guy that was already on our roster really stings from a value and opportune perspective.
Giddey would’ve had to either developed a shot, become way better at defense, or learned how to make himself valuable off ball in some other way for that to happen and that wasn’t gonna happen here. And looking at it as trading the #6 pick for Caruso is an extremely simplistic way of viewing it
@@Flamerunner451 Perhaps in 8 or 9 years when Giddey is as old as Caruso he will be as good a shooter as Caruso is now. In the meantime, Caruso has already peaked, and will never be the passer or rebounder that Giddey is.
@@mitchelpinion1852 how did that passing and rebounding help against Dallas? How does he help the team when the ball’s not in his hands? Is the team better when he’s got the ball and running the show instead of Shai or JDub?
@@Flamerunner451 Passing and rebounding always helps. Perhaps OKC would have fared better if he had played more. Replacing him as a starter didn't help. OKC had a great year with him as a starter. The losses to Dallas were team losses. Aside from SGA nobody played great. The problem is Giddey doesn't fit well with OKC's schemes. They apparently want shoot first point guards. He is almost certainly better off with another team. In terms of talent, age, etc. Chicago certainly got the better end of the trade, but maybe OKC will benefit for a year or two with an improved (although already very good) defense and slightly better 3 point shooting.
@@mitchelpinion1852 yeah the whole point of what I was saying is Giddey doesn’t fit the rest of the roster so it was smart to move him and get someone who fits better and will contribute more to winning. The games Giddey shot well he was contributing but more often than not we were winning in spite of him. So many games where the whole 1st quarter we were down only for it to flip when we got him off the floor

Seems the Thunder have a logjam at guard and AC doesn't help that.
Perhaps good for the OKC, but player for player Chicago got the best end of this trade.

Filipowski is not a lottery pick. If any of the other 15 odd lottery guys are there. We are taking them before him.
It’s crazy the vast difference in Mocks. Filipowski is mocked from 12 to the 2nd round in some mocks. This draft is gonna be an odd one

I agree. coby worked hard for that position, earned it and had really come into his own. The only thing I can figure is they move Coby to the 2 to replace Zach. Coby also made clear he wanted to be a starter for the Bulls or he'd walk. When he said that LaVine was the 2 so you know what Coby meant. Imo? Coby is better than Giddey atm at the PG position and most all else so idk wth the Bulls are up to? For Giddey to fit? Drastic roster changes are needed. I believe they're coming but what they'll look like is anyone's guess.

I get that we’re all being cordial, but are we really pretending Josh Giddey is a good NBA player?
There’s no place in the NBA for unathletic players who can’t shoot, can’t finish in traffic, and can’t defend.
I get it, he has an elite skill- stationary passing. I’m not looking forward to the annoying “The Thunder gave up on Giddey too early!” narratives once he’s averaging the emptiest 18/8/8 in the league on a losing team.
It really surprises me how semi-high a lot of media guys are on Giddey. His advanced numbers are not generous and paint a much different story than his raw stats do. Do you know how hard it is to get heavy minutes on a 57 win team and still be an on/off negative? That’s almost impressive.
I’ve been saying this so much. I really feel like the eye test is enough to prove your points. I’m almost flabbergasted how much Giddey talk has been positive. I’m almost certain people who are acting like Giddey had a great future in OKC are Australian or don’t really watch basketball with much interest or understanding of the NBA game.
Perhaps you should take another look at these advanced numbers then.... The team was +0.6 per 100 possessions better with him on the court vs off the court in the regular season, which is nearly identical to the other starters on the team not named Shai. Whereas, the bench player who replaced most of his minutes, Cason Wallace, made the team -4 points per 100 possessions worse with him on the court. As for the playoffs, the team was +7.2 points per 100 posessions better with Giddey on the court vs off. But hey, lets not let facts get in the way of our biases.
There is a place in the NBA for 6ft 8in point guards who are already outstanding passers and rebounders with decent offensive statistics over the last 3 years and are only 21 years old. Five years from now Giddey will be at his prime and Caruso will either be out of the NBA or on his last legs.

No it wasn’t lol everyone talked about how one of the top 5 guys were the main prizes in the draft. Cade, Green, Mobley, Scottie, and Suggs were all considered the top tier and everyone else was at least a step below
@@Flamerunner451 umm, no, they didn’t, and no, no one ever said that. ‘21 was universally heralded as one of the deepest draft classes ever. People began anticipating it as early as 2018
@@marcbasil I know all that but when they say it was a 5 person draft that doesn’t literally mean every player outside of those 5 was looked at as trash. The only ones people thought had any star potential besides those 5 were Kuminga and to a lesser extent Sengun
