It helps a ton when they are very team oriented players too. Both hart and Caruso are looking to give the ball up not going to hold the ball and take bad shots. Makes it easier to gel with new teammates and get good looks especially with okc and how their offense is ran

@@cadenburks5380hartenstein is perfect for them it’s not easy to add playmaking at the five and he also adds another defensive body to allow chet to roam and block shots This team will be scary if healthy this year and they are my choice to come out of the west over the mavs

Here’s one: During last season, the Thunder had an average win differential of 50.5 points against the Trail Blazers through two matchups, which to my knowledge is the most over 2 games in a regular season series ever

Here's one from recent history that I still think sounds absurd. In a game against the OKC Thunder, the Miami Heat as a team shot 40/40 from the Free Throw line and only won the game by 1 point. They literally needed to make every Free Throw in that game to win, and somehow did. Jimmy Butler was 23/23 from the line by himself.

Hartenstein was never getting attention for scoring prowess. OKC has plenty of firepower. They lacked on size and some interior defense. Hartenstein fixes that.

The second chance points is a little misleading. They were a top 3 team in shooting percentage and top 2 in 3 point percentage, so they had fewer misses and thus fewer opportunities for second chance points. On the other end, they were a top 3 defensive shooting percentage team, so their opponents had more misses and thus more opportunities for second chance. That's not to say they were good at it by any means. We all know that was a weakness and it bit them hard during that fluke of a Mavs series where somehow simultaneously they shot far before their average and the Mavs shot far above theirs. Live by the 3, die by the 3 after all. I was disappointed by the end to the season, but not disheartened. It took multiple anomalies for multiple games and they still only lost 1 game by double digits. I think they could have changed nothing and still been a serious title threat next year. But, this does go a long ways towards shoring up the holes that are left when they don't execute at their best. I think its more about elevating their floor than their ceiling, because their ceiling was already almost limitless. With this addition, they could become a Celtics level of dominant next season.

Crazy crazy overpay. There was dozens of other backup centers they could've signed for the minimum , let alone almost 30 mill 🤦‍♂️ Its possible they were mostly generating a huge trade chip for the deadline deals. I do like him as a spot starter / first big off the bench. Hes versatile defensively.

I got goosebumps watching that clip. As a German Basketball fan, I always wished that he could find a team that appreciates his skillset and gives him a role that this guy deserves. Thinking about him and Caruso joining such a talented team and be a great addition, I m really forward to watch some of their games.
