The creature that Strange is fighting is classic venom coloured and from the mane around it's neck I was thinking it might be venom attached to a version of Kraven
We’ll have to wait and see… My honest guess is screwball won’t show up, and that it was just an clever Easter egg… But then this series has had so many surprises already!
Just wanted to add another comment because it's something i just realized When Dr Strange notices he's at Midtown High, he says "Oh no, we're not supposed to be here" And the villain he's fighting is Shathra a multiverse Spider-Man villain from a location filled with a bunch of spiders wasp type creatures (she looks like venom but i don't remember if she's an actual symbiote).... but it explains why there was a random spider that came from the portal too (and why this spider would give Peter powers unlike a normal spider) So I believe this more experienced Dr Strange once used his time stone to see possible futures (he uses the time stone in the fight so he has it already) or is already up to multiverse shenanigans and therefore already knows who Spider-Man is before he should. So this Dr Strange knows he probably shouldn't bring a multiverse Spider creature to Peter Parker's high school because it could screw up the timeline, but obviously didn't realize that he left a spider behind and that spider is carried away in someone else's backpack, we don't see who this probably isn't the last we'll see of this Dr Strange....this is probably something that will tie into the multiverse saga either later in this show or at some point in the future.... (Also we know MCU 616 Dr Strange and America Chavez fell through an animated universe that looks kinda like this one for a few seconds as well)
I really liked how the show gives breathing room for the characters and their developing stories. Lonnie has that moment with the cops, and we see his home life, and hints that he's unhappy somehow. Nico goes to the party and it's not a whole B-plot of Peter having to get to the party while still fulfilling his responsibilities, we just get to see how he can be kind of a disappointing friend. It shows they care about tellings these characters story and they understand Peter's character pretty well. I loved when he let that thief go and explained why. It does a LOT to separate him from other heroes like, for example, Batman, who in popular depictions would have left her crippled and convicted. They're making an effort to define what it means to be a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and I love it.
Great commentary! I agree, it's really nice how the supporting characters are getting fully backed storylines. This series is really starting off the right way and I think it will continue to pay off as the season progresses!
I only read first comic and watched both episodes. I can say this show is gonna be better than most other shows. Seeing different characters in this story makes me excited. Nico is one of my favorite characters in marvel. Runaways is one of my first comic I read.
I think a good way to think of this show is it's inspired by the MCU but is different just like the animated shows Marvel put out a decade ago were inspired by the MCU.
I really enjoyed the first two episodes. What leaves me most interested is seeing more of this Peter’s villains. He doesn’t really have that many villains in the mcu, and I think that’s such a cool part of his character.
Yeah, one of the nice things about this series is it allows Marvel to bring in all of his most popular villains. It’s definitely one of the things I am most excited about.
i recently just finished my daredevil rewatch and i like to think that Peter read Karen's article on what it means to be a hero at the end of season 2 and thats what inspires him to be Spider-Man
Really enjoyed those 3 seasons of Daredevil. Peak content. As for what inspired Peter, make sure to check out my recent upload on the tie-in comics, as I think they give us a good indication of what inspired him. But I love your idea of Karen's article!
Not the biggest fan of the animation style but I’m loving the story and characters! Feels very much like it’s pulling from Spider-Man’s history of comics
I agree...the series has started off with two great episodes. And with it being renewed for a 3rd season, it seems Marvel has alot of confidence in the series!
Something i think people should be more specific about is if they want to see someone in the livd action films, or just the mcu wherever they fit. Cuz ive said for what? A decade now? Itd be easier to have Nico Minoru, the most popular of the Runaways team, to pop up in some random animation than to figure out where that team would fit into the larger live action narrative lol. Well, here she is. After being so right about Rio being Lady Death this doesn't feel as crazy... but I'm still happy Marvel can be so predictable sometimes.
Yeah, it's a bummer we haven't gotten more of Nico in live action. But I am really enjoying her in this show. Can't wait to see what her story arc will be!
I'm loving the series so far! The only gripes I have are the spider being from another dimension instead of being radioactive/genetically altered from a lab and Peter carrying a tank, it shouldn't bother me, but I always keep asking to myself, "Since when did Peter ever need tanks and tubes to store web fluid? Isn't that what the web cartridges from his belt and web shooters are for?" I totally respect them wanted to be different, but wouldn't that just make him more vulnerable during battles? As it was shown in the comic version when he was fighting the Enforcers. But all and all, I enjoy this version, the animation feels like an improvement from the 2017 series, especially the swinging scenes with the great music to go with it. And the characters are surprisingly good, especially Norman Osborn. This show definitely felt like 60s, Spectacular, MTV and MCU all into one. So can't wait for more!
Awesome feedback! Yeah, those are the two aspects I also don’t like as well. I’m not sure what’s going on with the other worldly spider, but I’m sure they’re going to explain it before long and maybe I’ll like it when they do explain it. And then the way that he stores his webbing is so bizarre. Like the dude is supposed to be a genius and that’s the best he can come up with? But I do appreciate the originality of it.
I took Osbornes lines in NWH a bit differently. I took them to mean he couldn't find his Oscorp. An Oscorp still might exist in the MCU, but it isn't as famous, and clearly not in the same place.
Interesting...ig I took his comment to mean Oscorp didn't exist, but either way, I suspect it means the branch had to be much earlier, because Oscorp is very prominent in this universe but was hard to locate in the MCU. Anyway, great feedback. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the episodes. Really appreciate it!
The end credits theme (and theme throughout the show) is based on spidermans theme in civil war! Henry jackman wrote a spiderman leitmotif/theme for civil war but michael gianchinno made his own theme when homecoming came around. It also does sound like the 80s cartoon theme rhythmically but more closesly matches civil wars spidey theme melodically and rhymically
Oh, now that’s a good point. It does share a lot of beats with the theme in Civil War. And that makes a lot of sense for them to use that. Thanks so much for sharing that information… Really appreciate it!
Great video, this was an amazing start to the series, love the references the the comics and the mcu along with introducing lots of people from comics like Peter's classmate and people working at Oscorps. That cliffhanger was crazy and it's only episode 2 i can't wait to see what happens next and find out what was the deal with Doctor Strange, the Symbiote and the spider that bite peter and who that person the spider went to next(i would love if it was Cindy Moon since she went to Midtown too). Me personally i still think this could be a branch off of Loki's tree but we'll just have to wait and see, but i think we will get more details about this world that could clue us in on that.
The Sony Spider-verse movies also call the NYPD, PDNY as well so it's probably an intentional multiversal homage to that as well! Also looking at the episode schedule-- Ep 7, Scorpion Rising... the showrunner did an AMA on the marvelstudios subreddit and for one question, he said that episode 7 is his favorite because they take the show somewhere the audience won't expect and then in another question he said that he's most excited for people to see his version of Scorpion because he's as deranged as he should be. So it looks like that 7th Scorpion episode is going to be special!
4:54 This one and the next one reference an alternate secret identity that Peter had when he couldn’t be spider-man during identity crisis (Prodigy/Hornet, and the web wing one is Dusk)
Hmmm... so I haven't actually decided to check out this series yet, but your video has gotten me kind of intrigued. Especially seeing that it's not actually in the MCU but has a lot of parallels to it.
Yeah, it was a surprisingly good first two episodes and supposedly it gets even better from here. Was probably a smart move not to put it in the MCU ‘cause it really opened a ton of possibilities!
I don't like Spiderman in particular, he's just there. But what a great show. Really bombastic and fun. I'll be waiting for it to wrap, I'm not anxious about seeing what's next like I was with Agatha, but it's great. It must be other worldly for the Spidey fans lol. Their stuff is rarely this artistic outside of the Miles films. I was pleasantly surprised to see my faves Nico Minoru and Amadeus here. They really made it feel alive without needing to do a ton of research if you don't wanna.
I’ve been loving the show so far, glad to see you covering it! 😁 Didn’t know multiple episodes were going to drop every week, that will make the wait between weeks less painful lol And I seriously can’t believe that robber was live-streaming their crime with all their faces uncovered and even giving out his full name omg how dumb can you be?!?! 🤦♀️
Yeah, it definitely shows how far live streamers will go. But then again, irl a bunch of kids did the devious lick pranks and filmed and posted those, so ig there is just no explanation for stupid. lol!
Ngl they should still have a MCU Peter origin story BUT a live action special presentation. I know they can’t technically because of rights but you gotta admit a story about tom’s Spider-Man with uncle Ben and fighting some classic Spider-Man villain in the end would be pretty sweet. Maybe rhino lol
I liked the first two episodes. Can’t wait to see where the show goes from here, especially since it got greenlit for 2 more seasons right before the show even premiered. I have a feeling that it will definitely give us everything that Sony failed to on the live-action front, since this seems like the closet we’re ever going to get to seeing Spider-Man and Daredevil teaming up against the Kingpin for a while, but we’ll see.
Yeah, this definitely feels like the most authentic Spider-Man we've gotten in awhile. That said, I do love Tom Holland's version. It's just a bummer that Sony has restricted which villains are allowed to appear in his movies.
@@AbitofEverything4U Me too. But at least, in this way, we can still have a street-level Spider-Man while Tom Holland's version potentially teams up with Venom to take on Knull in the Multiversal film that Sony supposedly wants Spider-Man 4 to be.
They will be open to new stuff. Yes indeed no breaks or laws of Kevin as they would coined if the Lonnie theory comes true and he becomes part of this world where in Spiderman MCU lore they are gonna craft something else
If I understand this correctly, branch timelines are universes that originate as variants of the main MCU while sister universes are independent but still follow similar paths in terms of characters and major events. The universes in "What If?" would be branch timelines, which are currently being held together by the Loki variant from the show "Loki", while the universe in this show and the universes seen in Multiverse of Madness would be sister universes. That sound about right?
Fantastic summary! That is my understanding of things. I’m hoping that it will become even more clear with the fantastic 4 movie coming out this summer, but yes, that is definitely my understanding.
I have to disagree with this being a completely separate universe. Up until the symbiote alien fight everything lines up way too perfectly with the sacred timeline for it to not be a branch imo. Also, I don't think a Dr. Strange being involved with the branch point is a coincidence. Yet another hint that Marvel has been giving us about Strange being a danger to the Multiverse.
Yeah, I'm all for it being a branch if that's what we learn. My concern, though, is that in NWH, Norman says that Oscorp doesn't exist. But in YFNS we see that not only does it exist, but Norman is very well known in NYC. So the branch would have to be several decades ago, since it would have to be prior Norman is born in the YFNS universe, it seems.
I don’t agree with you about branch point. In the Sacred Timeline there is no Oscorp so it must be branch earlier than you said like decades ago. And we don’t know what kind of differences gonna be in further future.
The black dots on Dr Stranges gloves are what’s called the Kirby Crackle, it’s a thing in comics used to show otherworldly or magical powers and it was on Stranges gloves in the comics
The similarities have to be common if we suspect Amadeus Cho to be very much different in the MCU where his life leads to scientific research in gamma than work for Stark industries which here it's a cousin to work for Oscorp
That is indeed the debate of the century. I am hoping we get an answer in Fantastic Four, but my theory is that Loki's tree is just 616 and the What If branches. If you are interested, I did a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/kS-v8GA4Wzc/v-deo.html. It's long, but it's broken into small chapters for easy viewing.
With Bently Whitman, I have no doubt the Fantastic Four will be in this show in Season 2 or 3. They could even do Peter's Bombastic Bag Man costume. I would also love to see on this show: Cloak and Dagger & Iceman and Firestar.
I loved these first two episodes! I was a little bummed out that they had that time jump in episode 1 right after Peter was bit, but I'm glad they're having the comics to cover up that gap. I usually find that the part in which Peter learns how his powers work and fully develops into Spider-Man is often my favourite, in almost every iteration of the character. As for where the story is going, I have no idea, but judging from the titles of the episodes, I'm guessing that the series is going to have a "villain of the week" kind of structure, which I don't dislike. And if the title is anything to go off of, I'm REALLY looking forward to episode 6! Maybe a Spider-Man vs. Daredavil fight? Daredavil is hinted to exist in the tie-in comics, and we know that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are both in this show, so that's going to be great!
Yeah, I’m really liking this series so far. And similar to you, I’m looking forward to that daredevil fight. It’s gonna be a really fun season, I suspect!
When first announced this cartoon, they said was a origin toward Mcu and have uncle Ben. So we won't have uncle Ben in Mcu, although I disappointed, I still enjoyed watching episode 1 and 2. But why they don't show Uncle Ben photo frame
Yeah, I wish they would’ve done a bit more with uncle Ben. Maybe he’ll come up more as the series goes on. I’d really like to know what happened to him.
Can you please do a special video today for my birthday? I want to know your thoughts on what you think about the Knightmare scenes from Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League copying Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame.
Thank you for the Birthday wishes. By the way did you hear that The Fantastic Four First Steps Teaser Trailer is releasing on UA-cam Tuesday February 4. Keep up the good work!
Didn’t have high expectations for this cause it sorta seemed like they were trying to bury it but this premiere was fantastic! Can’t wait for next week
I didn’t know there were tie-in comics? I would totally watch if you did breakdown videos for each issue! Also that other person comment was a villain called Screwball, she was most recently in the insomniac games.
There definitely was. Been trying to find the timeline placement of the show in its mcu. Thanks for covering that by the way. Super helpful. Also it’s ok. I can wait for great videos like this
Yeah, I think the timeline will continue to be more clear as the series goes along but one thing I forgot to mention is that since football season was going on we can’t be any later than November. So maybe they really did mean that only a few months have passed since the beginning of the first episode. I do like that better. So the spring 2016 poster was just establishing that we have to be earlier than that date, but I am guessing that most of episode one and all of episode two is in November 2015.
Just got done watching it and I already love this show. And I didn't think I would. I didn't realize this had tie-in comics, that's very cool (is that something you've broken down/will break down?). It is interesting that this isn't in the multiverse saga section but 97 is (which continues to fuel my idea that Storm in What If is from 97 but alas). I dunno sister timeline would imply it's part of Loki's tree but they are always so vague about this stuff. How I forgot Lonnie was Tombstone is wild. One thing I'm curious about is was Dr Strange and the Symbiote from this universe or another and I ask that based on Strange's statement about how they shouldn't be there. That or time travel? And yeah the spider reminded me of ITSV. And yeah like someone mentioned, Screwball is one of his rogues who appears in the PS4 game. I do love the fun little nods to the MCU like the guy from Homecoming who I didn't see during my watch. The similarities still make me think it's a 'different universe' within the 616 tree because again, Marvel and their usage of words. Also all those comic characters! Also that release schedule is crazy!
Awesome feedback! Looks like they finally added it to the Multiverse section, so that’s cool. I’m still thinking it’s gonna be in a different tree because of the one universe over quote, but we’ll have to wait and see. Either way, loving this series so far!
@@AbitofEverything4U Well I took the "one universe over" to be like how they treated the branches of the tree as their own universes and one branch would be over from another. But fair point.
I'm pretty sure a big reason the movie's supporting cast isn't in this is I remember before his appearance in What If hearing apart of the contract with Sony makes Marvel not be able to use any character that originated in their movies or atleast not versions of them that feel similar.
I'm love this show, even if the animation is questionable at times (mostly when we have wideshots and people in the background don't move). I think it's clearly a completly separate Universe that's free of any MCU-timeline limitations, plus, it wouldn't surprise me if this world wasn't just animated not only as a medium of choice, but also in-universe like the Spiderverse movies or the Comic Book World in MoM.
I genuinely hope Marvel Studios and Sony are cooking up something greater than we could theorize because if they dont use all this stuff to connect divergent universes they are dropping the ball.
So glad I watched this video - I had no idea we were getting multiple episodee each week. I too had the same thought that this must have branched much earlier in the piece due to all the differences between our 616 and this universe. I agree that this mustn't be on Loki's tree. Still slogging my way through the rest of the Defenders series - hoping to have caught up just in time for Daredevil Born Again! Currently on Daredevil season 3 and have Punisher season 2, Jessica Jones season 3 and Echo left to go.
In the 2nd issue of the tie in comics, one of the enforcers destroys Spider-Man's web shooter tubes, so why would Spider-Man continue using it after that incident instead of upgrading his gear?
Yeah, the Enforcers really did a number on him. I wonder if Peter simply didn't have any other options for the webbing at that point? But I am really happy he'll be getting another suit soon in the series!
Since Ditko was the main artist responsible for both Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, I hope what’s going on here is tying Doctor Strange to ALL aspects of the multiverse, so incursions + the web of life and destiny + all of the doom/Kang battle world stuff. I want this all to lead up to the iconic panel of Strange and Spidey both acknowledging that their hand signs are the same and share a bond over it
First two episodes were really good. Reminds me a bit of Batman Caped Crusader how fresh it feels. Already loving the new takes on characters, like Lonnie Lincoln and Carla Connors, and even Domingo Coleman evokes Willem Dafoe in his vocal performance of Norman Osborne. Everything is hitting all the right notes and paced splendidly so far. My biggest questions, since we know Pete ends up in Germany airport battle still, is how does Civil War proceed with Norman’s involvement now? Also curious to see how much they pull from the MCU, as this show will fill in the blanks between Homecoming and Infinity War. Would love to see them end in an all out Infinity War adaptation, but the possibilities are endless.
I agree...the first two episodes were great. Similar to you, I'm very curious to see how things like Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame, etc are handled in this timeline. And I love all the villains that are waiting in the wings. Gonna be a fun season!
14:42 "I do not think this universe is in Loki's tree" Yeah...except that ALL universes are in Loki's tree. You and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this. I think we've always had very different interpretations of the result of the Loki series and what it means for the shape of the MCU Multiverse.
Yeah, I really hope that one day they give us a definitive answer. Maybe in Fantastic 4? Would be a great place for them to just give us a clear model of the multiverse. Please, Marvel...pretty please?
I think all of this stuff harkens back to the Morbius post credit scene with that concept explored even further in Across the Spider Verse ...also in ASV Miguel CLEARLY mentions the 616 Dr Strange and Spider Man while ranting about the chaos transpiring in the multiverse .
When that symbiote came out of the portal I said out loud "venomised sabertooth?" Lol And big swing, but I'm gonna theorize that the Doctor Strange fight is the branch point and the spider that bit Peter is not like the spider we're used to and Peter is going to have an extra ability (blind guess: electricity cause of the blue pattern on the spider) and that's what will be revealed in the last issue of the comic
This show is perfect and it does fit inside the SSU OR SPIDERVERSE!, last movie of SSU was kraven and because of venom x kraven vs doc strange, peter got powers! I have huge suspicions on every character, especially on Nico! Because her mom is gone , but when before her freshman year or after?, One fine day - Spider-Man and AGENTS OF ATLAS - Adventures for sure , hopefully in season 2! Hope, Spider-Man Noir series uses Uncle Ben in a right way, rather than a motivational quote!
@ Normie is tony stark of this universe,so ! he is manufacturing villains and heroes, puppetting heroes, maybe to gain popularity, that spider could be from this universe, from oscorp! That's my brainstorming, i really feel sorry, because Invincible will overshadow this series along with F4 Trailer and Cap 4 movie! let's hope for the best!
Its probably Strange Supreme in the verge of incursions and the plans for Doctor Strange scrapped for Kang as Secret Wars would tie him bringing two worlds of one
I don’t know wether or not we should trust him but what if Norman/Goblin was the one who commissioned Butane 🔥 as some sort of weird test for Spider-Man?
Nico is such an interesting choice here. In both the comics and the TV show, she and the Runaways would be in Lost Angeles, so I do wonder if they'll at least hint at why she ended up in NYC. In the show's timeline, 2016 would be about a year after Nico's sister died and about a year before the show's events take place, so this is a big shakeup to that timeline. I do think they might be pulling a couple of elements from that show - this show's Nico is comfortably and openly queer, which wasn't the case in the comics until much later; and in the show Nico's parents run a big tech company (which might motivate her being sent off to a "school for geniuses) and the show's Staff of One is presented as a bit of magic-infused technology, vs the comics Nico whose parents are actual wizards and the staff is just magic. I'm definitely overthinking it, but I remain very curious what they have planned for this character going forward.
I love all your ideas. Yeah, I'm very curious to see if they lean into any of the Runaways storylines. It's great to see Nico back in the MCU, even if it is in a separate timeline.
At the moment the show is ok, we'll see how it unfolds in the end. 3:02 I don't know if that quote means that it isn't a branch to the 616 universe. If it was the case then I don't see how it must be so similar to the MCU while at the same time so different. They could make it completly unrelated to MCU Spidey if that was the case (even if the other heroes still exist in the show). It feels like a what if universe/timeline that branches at least with Norman Osborn being born. If it was a different universe then I don't see why not take advantage of the "comic style" designs to do something resembling those comics instead of somewhat resemble the MCU 5:25 cool references 9:40 yeah the first thing that comes to mind is Into the Spiderverse. I wonder if Dr Strange open the portal from another dimension or an unknown point in space or an Earth lab. Since they made Nico Minoru, Peter best friend I asume she will become a heroine or tackle the Runaways plotline somehow in this show.
I was thinking that logo on butanes tech was for Otto Octavius. Really enjoying the series so far and cant wait to see where we go from here. I alao think that Strange is from the future.
Excellent theory on Otto Octavius owning that tech. And yeah, sure does feel like a future Dr. Strange. Can't wait to learn more about what he was up to!
Did you catch the 3rd photo going into Osborn's office as Peter is pushing open the office door? Looks like King T'Chaka father of T'Challa. @ABitofEverything
I thought this show was completely disconnected from the MCU after they didn’t want it to be connect to the MCU not another universe in the MCU Multiverse.
Good question! I think that they realized there wasn’t really a good way to do a branch off the MCU and so that’s why I think they’re making it a separate universe. But maybe it’ll become more clear as the series goes on.
having a hard time believing its a coincidence both Dr Strange and Spider Man really kicked off the multiverse stuff in the films and there has been this recurring thing between Marvel Studios and Sony since then with references to each other , references to events across the multiverse . We were hearing stories about Knull appearing in the next Spider Man and of course in MOM its established many variants of Strange are investigating the multiverse .Something to do with Spider Man, Doctor Strange, and Knull I think .
Connors is working on basically Oscorps version of an Arc reactor do ya think at some point in the future Norman might use that to become Iron Patriot in the future

The creature that Strange is fighting is classic venom coloured and from the mane around it's neck I was thinking it might be venom attached to a version of Kraven
I love that theory!
That makes more sense than someone having said it was Shathra or whatever her name is.
I mean
Kraven does not have mandibles
@krishsankhe True, but a symbiote is able to change your physical attributes
@RiseofOwnage very true!
The person commenting that you highlighted around 12:45 is Screwball, a super villain that blogs herself, she shows up in the PlayStation game too
Oh, that's right! Great catch!
Oh god please no
@@notryan9233 Imagine she shows up only to get mauled by Kravom.
I was about to comment this, but someone already beat me to it :(
We’ll have to wait and see… My honest guess is screwball won’t show up, and that it was just an clever Easter egg… But then this series has had so many surprises already!
Just wanted to add another comment because it's something i just realized
When Dr Strange notices he's at Midtown High, he says "Oh no, we're not supposed to be here"
And the villain he's fighting is Shathra a multiverse Spider-Man villain from a location filled with a bunch of spiders wasp type creatures (she looks like venom but i don't remember if she's an actual symbiote).... but it explains why there was a random spider that came from the portal too (and why this spider would give Peter powers unlike a normal spider)
So I believe this more experienced Dr Strange once used his time stone to see possible futures (he uses the time stone in the fight so he has it already) or is already up to multiverse shenanigans and therefore already knows who Spider-Man is before he should.
So this Dr Strange knows he probably shouldn't bring a multiverse Spider creature to Peter Parker's high school because it could screw up the timeline, but obviously didn't realize that he left a spider behind and that spider is carried away in someone else's backpack, we don't see who
this probably isn't the last we'll see of this Dr Strange....this is probably something that will tie into the multiverse saga either later in this show or at some point in the future....
(Also we know MCU 616 Dr Strange and America Chavez fell through an animated universe that looks kinda like this one for a few seconds as well)
I really love the idea that this could be the animated universe from MoM. That would be so incredible!
Or he just didn’t want to take the fight to a public space
Also, screwball (the commenter on the livestream saying to check out their content) is a spidey villain. She's in the PS4 game
Great point! Yeah, so many cool easter eggs in these two episodes!

Screwball is actually a spider man villain and she was promoting her channel lol
Great catch!
I only read first comic and watched both episodes. I can say this show is gonna be better than most other shows. Seeing different characters in this story makes me excited. Nico is one of my favorite characters in marvel. Runaways is one of my first comic I read.
I agree...I've really enjoyed it so far. So much potential for where the show can go from here!
@ Yeah I totally agree 👍🏻. I am glad they did a parallel universe.
💯
I think a good way to think of this show is it's inspired by the MCU but is different just like the animated shows Marvel put out a decade ago were inspired by the MCU.
I agree...that makes alot of sense.
I agree...animation style isn't my favorite but the story has been top notch so far. Gonna be a fun season!
@@AbitofEverything4U I love the animation style it looks straight out of those motion comics they made. Stuff like Superman red sun

Just read the comics entangled with the series and they’re great! Haven’t read comics for a few months and I think these two reignited my enthusiasm.
Yeah, I think it was a very smart move to do those comic tie-ins!
I've REALLY enjoyed these first two episodes, they're proving to be very promising. Roll on next week!
I wasn’t expecting much but the show has a really charming energy, excited for the rest of the season!
Same here...should be a fun season!
Yeah, has been an amazing story so far. Loving it and can't wait for more!
Oh wow...I love Scorpion, so I can't wait to see that!
12:40 that’s screwball who is a social media influencer/streamer villain in the comics and she also appears in the ps4 game
That’s awesome! What a cool Easter egg. Thanks for pointing that out!
Dr. Strange and that little nerd from Earth-199999999 14:52
4:54 This one and the next one reference an alternate secret identity that Peter had when he couldn’t be spider-man during identity crisis (Prodigy/Hornet, and the web wing one is Dusk)
Niiiiiice! Thanks for sharing that!
0:53 they've now added YFNSM to the multiverse saga section
Awesome! Yeah, that was so weird that it wasn’t included there.
Hmmm... so I haven't actually decided to check out this series yet, but your video has gotten me kind of intrigued.
12:00 - Oh, that flaw was definitely exploited by the enforcers in comic 2.
I was pleasantly surprised by the screwball Easter egg
ikr? The Enforcers definitely took advantage of it. And yeah, the Screwball easter egg was great!
I think we see Peter's fight against Crusher in the intro with the same clothes. Can't wait for the next episodes
Yeah, this series has me really invested in it already!
Before episode 3-5 comes out , can u breakdown tie in comics! it would be easy to maintain with the episodes, please!
Absolutely! That will be the next vid I do.
Yeah, it really would be cool if they gave us the MCU Spider-Man's origin at some point.
I was waiting for your breakdown of this!
Thanks! Had a lot of fun breaking this down. It’s gonna be a very fun season!
I think the musical cues are my favorite part of of the show so far
I agree...the musical cues are fantastic!
Right! It’s a nice bonus that we get both Spider-Man to enjoy!
@@AbitofEverything4U Exactly. We get to have our Spider-Man cake and eat it too.
💯
They will be open to new stuff. Yes indeed no breaks or laws of Kevin as they would coined if the Lonnie theory comes true and he becomes part of this world where in Spiderman MCU lore they are gonna craft something else
I'm very curious to see what they do with Lonnie. I think his character is going to have quite a journey!
Peter missing his train is hilarious! I live in Queens and trains run like every 5 min in the morning haha
Oh wow...didn't realize they came that often. Yeah, that is pretty funny in that case!
I’m hoping that it will become even more clear with the fantastic 4 movie coming out this summer, but yes, that is definitely my understanding.
enjoyed the series. didn't expect the theme for the intro to go hard. 🤘 😎
Yeah, that intro theme was great!
@yasinkrmz7051 Yeah, it seems like the branch point must be several decades in the past if it is branched off the main MCU
The black dots on Dr Stranges gloves are what’s called the Kirby Crackle, it’s a thing in comics used to show otherworldly or magical powers and it was on Stranges gloves in the comics
Good point! Yeah, that's a nice touch!
The similarities have to be common if we suspect Amadeus Cho to be very much different in the MCU where his life leads to scientific research in gamma than work for Stark industries which here it's a cousin to work for Oscorp
Yeah, I am so curious to see what they do with Amadeus in the show!
Loved the first 2 episodes!!! And love your channel!!!!
I agree...fantastic episodes. And thanks so much for the positive feedback on the channel. Really appreciate it!
3:02 still be Loki's tree as the tree is the entire MCU multiverse
That is indeed the debate of the century. I am hoping we get an answer in Fantastic Four, but my theory is that Loki's tree is just 616 and the What If branches. If you are interested, I did a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/kS-v8GA4Wzc/v-deo.html. It's long, but it's broken into small chapters for easy viewing.
This is one of my favorite Spider-Man shows so far.
Agreed...It's been a great start to the season!
With Bently Whitman, I have no doubt the Fantastic Four will be in this show in Season 2 or 3. They could even do Peter's Bombastic Bag Man costume. I would also love to see on this show: Cloak and Dagger & Iceman and Firestar.
So many awesome possibilities… Really exciting!
My favorite Easter egg regarding the PDNY is that’s actually what it is in the Spider-Verse films as well in Miles world
Right! It was indeed PDNY in the Spider-Verse as well!
Definitely wishing you a happy birthday, even if I don’t have time to make that video at this point. Hope you have a wonderful celebration!
Thank you for the Birthday wishes. By the way did you hear that The Fantastic Four First Steps Teaser Trailer is releasing on UA-cam Tuesday February 4. Keep up the good work!
So excited we’re getting the trailer in just a few days!
These first 2 episodes were great, i really like this MCU version of Spiderman.
I agree… Those first two episodes were great. Really excited to see where things go this season!
4:32 That design reminds of Ted Kord as Blue Beetle, who was also created by Steve Ditko.
5:40 There's no "e" at the end of Osborn, just check 16:50
I agree...that does indeed look like Ted Kord's Blue Beetle. And thanks for catching that extra "e". Oops!
Didn’t have high expectations for this cause it sorta seemed like they were trying to bury it but this premiere was fantastic! Can’t wait for next week
ikr? I felt the same way. I thought they just wanted it to go away and instead it's been great so far. Can't wait for the new episodes to arrive!
I didn’t know there were tie-in comics? I would totally watch if you did breakdown videos for each issue! Also that other person comment was a villain called Screwball, she was most recently in the insomniac games.
I never like screwball in the marvel spider man game she doing this to make a internet video for view putting people life in danger
@a.j.sumano7578 Great catch on Screwball. And yeah, I'll definitely do a breakdown of the comics next!
Dr strange has always had those gloves in the comics
You know, you're probably right about that. I admit I haven't read a Dr. Strange comic in awhile. Thanks for mentioning that!
I’ve been waiting for this since the episodes came out
Thanks for watching. Sorry it took me abit to get it out...man, there was so much going on in these two episodes!
It was better than I thought it’d be tbh.
Same...I was pretty nervous about it, but I really liked those two episodes!
Awesome show! Awesome breakdown! Hyped for the future of the show!
I agree...I was really happy with the show so far. Looking forward to see what they have in store for us next week!
I’m liking this show a lot already. Some people are just too eager to trash on it for superficial reasons
I agree… I’m really enjoying the show. I hear it gets even better as it goes along, so hopefully it’ll win everyone over by the end!
I feel like the lizard here is probable to people here where they get to bond more as the spectacular spiderman internship he had with Curt connors
Great theory!
Yeah, it feels like an 838 situation to me, but knowing Marvel, they won't make it clear. Sigh.
I'm pretty sure a big reason the movie's supporting cast isn't in this is I remember before his appearance in What If hearing apart of the contract with Sony makes Marvel not be able to use any character that originated in their movies or atleast not versions of them that feel similar.
Interesting theory! I bet you're right about that. ofc, it's also odd that Cumberbatch isn't voicing Dr. Strange. Wonder what the reason for that is?
I was very worried going into this show, but so far I love it.
Same! Wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to a great season!
Great feedback...I agree, I suspect this is indeed an animated universe and I'd love it if it crosses over with BTSV!
Been waiting for this video!
Thanks for watching the vid...Been a really fun show so far!
Someone pointed out the football coach's last name is Grayfield which is the last name of the obscure Marvel character NFL SuperPro.
Great point! Yes, that is a crazy easter egg!
To be fair, Peter didn't know of Dr Strange in the MCU proper until Infinity War either
Good point! Yeah, I can't wait to learn more about what was going on with Dr. Strange and that symbiote!
I genuinely hope Marvel Studios and Sony are cooking up something greater than we could theorize because if they dont use all this stuff to connect divergent universes they are dropping the ball.
I hope so too!
I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about this show, but I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes.
I was in the exact same boat… I wasn’t sure what to think, but I was pleasantly surprised. Looks like it’s gonna be a really fun season!
How exciting that you’re watching all of the original Netflix shows in preparation for born again. I bet that is a lot of fun!
Honestly enjoying the show so far. Didn't know about the tie in comics though.
Yeah, been a really fun show so far. And the tie-in comics are pretty cool. I'll do a bigger breakdown of those next.
I think the person who took the backpack is Cindy or Miles or Gwen or Jessica.
I love all of those options. We need another spider-person in the show to hang out with Peter!
@AbitofEverything4U If it's Gwen I hope she's voiced by Dove Cameron, wouldn't be the first time.
💯
In the 2nd issue of the tie in comics, one of the enforcers destroys Spider-Man's web shooter tubes, so why would Spider-Man continue using it after that incident instead of upgrading his gear?
P.S. btw the comics do take place in the few months after the spider bite.
I want this all to lead up to the iconic panel of Strange and Spidey both acknowledging that their hand signs are the same and share a bond over it
It sure does seem like Dr. Strange is causing issues all over the multiverse. Dude just can't help himself!
I think the logo at 20:51 might be Otto Octavious' company. The logo is an eight (y'know, like an octopus), but the the two circles could be two O's.
Great theory!
12:30 Dark Knight Trilogy reference.
Great catch!
14:42 "I do not think this universe is in Loki's tree"
Yeah...except that ALL universes are in Loki's tree.
Very true...I hope there is a connection of some sort!
@@AbitofEverything4U if not they are dropping the ball big time .
💯
15:52 Aaron got webbed to a trunk
Indeed!
When that symbiote came out of the portal I said out loud "venomised sabertooth?" Lol
And big swing, but I'm gonna theorize that the Doctor Strange fight is the branch point and the spider that bit Peter is not like the spider we're used to and Peter is going to have an extra ability (blind guess: electricity cause of the blue pattern on the spider) and that's what will be revealed in the last issue of the comic
Awesome theories! And I love the venomised Sabertooth idea. Nicely done!
I really do hope it ties into the Spiderverse...that would be peak!
Yeah, Norman is going to be a really good villain for this series. I think he’s gonna be the mastermind!
@@AbitofEverything4U Iron Patriot for a reason 🌟💙, hence his pic with cap rogers!
🔥
Its probably Strange Supreme in the verge of incursions and the plans for Doctor Strange scrapped for Kang as Secret Wars would tie him bringing two worlds of one
Love that idea. That would be a very cool direction for them to go with the story!
loving this show so far!
I agree...been great so far!
I don’t know wether or not we should trust him but what if Norman/Goblin was the one who commissioned Butane 🔥 as some sort of weird test for Spider-Man?
I do wonder if that's possible. Norman might have done it to see which of them ran off to fight him. Great theory!
the show IS now featured in the multiverse saga section
It wasn’t at the time
@arnixen7567 awesome! Glad they got it added. It seemed really weird not to have it there!
If it was a different universe then I don't see why not take advantage of the "comic style" designs to do something resembling those comics instead of somewhat resemble the MCU
5:25 cool references
9:40 yeah the first thing that comes to mind is Into the Spiderverse. I wonder if Dr Strange open the portal from another dimension or an unknown point in space or an Earth lab.
Since they made Nico Minoru, Peter best friend I asume she will become a heroine or tackle the Runaways plotline somehow in this show.
Great feedback. I like your idea of a tie to the Spiderverse. That would be epic if they go that direction!
I really liked these first two episodes
Totally agree!
I can't to see how Lonnie Lincoln becomes Tombstone. I just know it's gonna be a sad downfall after seeing he wants to be better
It probably going to be a tragic moment that turn him into a villain when that happen it going to be sad
@Blazecap Yeah, I'm pretty worried that Lonnie's story is going to end up being tragic!
12:41 “L + ratio” 😭😭
lol...yeah, people didn't like that live stream at all!
As of today this show has been added to the Multiverse Saga!
Niiiiice! It was really weird that it was left off.
Did you catch the 3rd photo going into Osborn's office as Peter is pushing open the office door? Looks like King T'Chaka father of T'Challa. @ABitofEverything
Oh wow...I wasn't sure who that was, but you are probably right. Great catch!
@AbitofEverything4U yea, just an observation. Not sure what that reveals
Lots to unpack with Norman… I think he’s gonna be an awesome villain!
Poor peter that id photo going to be with you for life
Yep...he just can't catch a break with the camera!
4:33 That was Jack Kirby’s design, not Ditko’s.
omg...can't believe I said Ditko and not Kirby. Ugh!
Spider-Man '67 = ABC
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man = Disney+
So much Spider-Man for us to enjoy!
having a hard time believing its a coincidence both Dr Strange and Spider Man really kicked off the multiverse stuff in the films and there has been this recurring thing between Marvel Studios and Sony since then with references to each other , references to events across the multiverse . We were hearing stories about Knull appearing in the next Spider Man and of course in MOM its established many variants of Strange are investigating the multiverse .Something to do with Spider Man, Doctor Strange, and Knull I think .
Yep...lots of interesting threads are coming together slowly!
I was expecting more generic superhero stuff but no the show went unbelievably hard for no reason
It did indeed...been a great story so far!
Connors is working on basically Oscorps version of an Arc reactor do ya think at some point in the future Norman might use that to become Iron Patriot in the future
Good theory! Honestly, the show can go about anywhere at this point, which is really exciting!
Lil red dead redemption 2 reference on that bus stop poster
Niiiiiiice! Good catch!
