I genuinely believe the MCU will get the soft reboot treatment. They’ll recast many characters, but keep a few actors. But if they do a soft reboot, they’ll probably try to keep it in a way where it's not necessary to watch any of the previous projects before Avengers Secret Wars if that makes sense. It also makes sense to do a hard reboot but in the MCU’s case, it would be best to do a soft reboot. It would also benefit the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
I agree 100%. I love the idea of a soft reboot and I suspect Feige will find some way to make it seem like a good launch point for new fans so that they don't feel they have to watch everything in phases 1-6 just to jump in at phase 7.
Playing marvel rivals and the voice acting in that game + reading some of the comics from civil war 1 reminded me how shit the MCU is , compared to the actual comics and how realistic they went and woke and gender swapping every character i have no interest whatsoever watching marvel films
A justification for the MCU to be 616 is that it’s a totally separate multiverse from the comic’s multiverse. America Chavez even said she’s the only America in the multiverse so the MCU 616 can’t be connected to the comic’s 616. I like to think 616 is just the prime universe of each separate multiverse.
@@The_Surfthe problem is when mcu fans say that the comics are not the 616 universe and the only thing that matters is the mcu, not saying all mcu fans are like this but i saw some hsaying this things
The easy solution to the magneto problem is just make it so this version of magneto and Charles has slowed ageing as either a 2nd mutation or as a side effect of their primary mutation
That’s a really good idea! Another suggestion I’ve heard people give is perhaps magneto could come from a universe that has an earlier present day… Sort of like the X-Men 97 universe. Lots of cool possibilities Marvel could use!
Magneto not being a holocaust survivor would fundamentally change his character and would cause a lot of need for rework, it's comics! just have some bullshit saying he slowed his aging somehow
Great feedback! I agree, I hope Marvel can find a way to keep the Holocaust as part of Magneto's backstory. Maybe Magneto can come from a universe with an earlier "present day", such as the X-Men 97 universe?
yeah i think we as a society have just all agreed on the fact that when it comes to Magneto that he should just age slowly to keep up his holocaust backstory, though that would mean Charles would have the same situation going with his age but it’s all fantasy at the end of the day so it’s fine
I just feel it would lead to a sour taste in everyone’s mouths to just reboot the entire MCU,all these years of rich lore, movies, shows, comics,to just be like “ok everything before doesn’t matter anymore, this new stuff is what actually matters”
Since Endgame, MCU is in a constant downfall, the only MCU movie post infinity war that was genuinely great was GOTG 3 because it actually had a good story and finished well the character arcs from the characters(Endgame kind of sucks actually except for the ending, No Way Home story sucks and it relies on fanservice and Deadpool & Wolverine is more of a comedy story that works because it is self aware of how multiverse sucks and does things well for a Deadpool movie), the best course for the MCU is a full reboot and start all over again, personally i'd like if they just came back to making standalone movies that seek to tell an actual interesting story beyond just being a generic action bad CGI movie with corny jokes and one liners and that only relies on cheap fanservice.
A hard reboot would be absolutely amazing, and I have several reasons 1. New actors. Give new and upcoming actors a chance to play some of these characters. Like, yes, all these guys are super great in their roles, but change IS A GOOD THING. I know it would be hard to get used to but it's got to happen at some point. Maybe take like a 3 year break then recast and restart. 2. New stories/retellings. Imagine getting to redo some stories we've already seen in new ways like civil war and age of ultron to be more comic accurate, while also doing stories the old movies never got around too. 3. Merchandise. These movies sell toys like hot cakes, and it'd be a huge marketing opportunity to have entirely new versions of the same characters to make toys around. 4. Continuity. For the sake of continuity, establishing an entirely new one would really help general audiences. If they just keep going after secret wars but in the same universe, it might turn into a james gunn DCEU to DCU situation, where general audiences have to ask, what's canon from all the other universes, why are some characters different now then they were? It's so easy to avoid that mistake and confusion by just telling audiences, this continuity has ended, and this is an entirely new set of stories. 5. New audiences and fans. It would help so mcuh for every kind of fan, from casual to hard core. Hard core fans who weren't fans of what the original mcu did for some stories would get be ecstatic for a chance to have those redone in a new light. Casual fans would be interested to see what new actors pop up and compare the versions, and it could attract even more new fans because its all brand new to them, rather then trying to play catch up from all the old movies and shows that still matter to the new timeline if they did a soft reboot. So, yeah, thats why I think a hard reboot is the best way to go
100% agree we need a new cast and new continuity to keep it fresh for new audiences and a chance to get back characters like Black Panther and Iron Man back to me it can save some time
I expect them to go the Hickman route and retain 616 history with whatever additions and subtractions that with. I’d love to see the major players recast and only appear as major cameos in the Mutant Saga similar to X-Men 97 - intervening when the story calls for it. Reactionary cameos that make the world feel bigger and that it doesn’t always revolve around Avengers. I’m thinking when Rogue encounters Cap in the field, a stray Hulk encounter with Wolverine, etc
Great point! If Marvel does go with a soft reboot, it will be very important to find a way to do that so that new fans don't feel they have to watch Phases 1-6 just to jump on board. And that might be too tough of a task to accomplish.

The MCU definitely needs a reboot after Secret Wars. Not like remaking previous stories, and not like a retcon, just new stories that dont need 10 years of content to understand. If they need to recast some of these characters, then they'll need to recast, and i think Secret Wars is the best time to do that with all the multiversal variants. I think thats what is happening with T'Challa, even though it may upset people because of recasting Boseman, it may be the only right time (unless they wait for his son to grow into an adult). Also, any previous story arcs they feel should have their own conclusion, should be done either in Secret Wars or in a film immediately after it, like Thor 5. This is because what really felt weird is having a film like Gotg 3 (which i loved) come out in phase 5 of the multiverse saga when it clearly felt like an infinity saga film. It felt so out of place and i think a lot of that is happening in the MCU right now. So many films have been made, that there is no clear place as to where it fits in, and is carrying on a story from a film that was made 4 or 5 years ago. Theres just too much content now, that a reboot is the only way to have a clear, precise storyline that makes sense and has people caring.
Really good feedback! Yeah, I suspect a lot of fans feel exactly as you do. Personally, I hope it’s a soft reboot that keeps as much of the history as possible, but there are a lot of benefits to more of a hard reboot. Can’t wait to see what Marvel decides when secret wars finally arrives!
I'm all for a soft reboot. I feel like it's time to clear the slate and simplify the entire thing. Not a complete hard reboot because of nostalgic reasons, but a soft reboot like 2015's Secret Wars in the comics would be fine with me. The more important question, though, is what we do with the Multiverse. Are we gonna move away from it completely or are we going to keep it around? It's been fun so far and I really look forward to the big finale in Secret Wars, but I'm not sure the next Sagas would benefit from it still being so open and unchecked as it is now. What I hope happens is that they find a way to either isolate the different universes completely, so that multiversal travel is forbidden, or at least find a way to control it. Maybe there could be someone like Loki or maybe a team like the Guardians of the Multiverse from What If...? whose job is to make sure that the Multiverse never goes out of control again. We could still have storylines set in different universes running parallel to each other, apart from the occasional crossover here and there, but I personally would like it if they eventually found a way to move away from this mess that we currently have. A good mess, don't get me wrong, but it's not sustainable long term.
Well its hare for new guys to get in, cause of the huge homework Even the fans from beginning have to watch recaps to keep up I completely forgot how leader got his powers and had to recap videos of incredible hulk to prepare for cap4
I think a soft reboot makes the most sense... Reintroduce beloved characters in ways that make sense in the current mcu, but also preserve the stories and relationships from the past 17 years within the continuity
Honestly, a reboot is alot less necessary than in the comics, because comics with hundreds of issues are just a lot less accessible than movies and tv shows.
I agree… That’s why I think at most they should do a soft reboot where they combine all the key characters from across the Multiverse into one universe. But I think they should leave the history intact.
Yeah, I do hear that from several fans. I think a lot is riding on 2025 and I’m hoping it’s a great year for Marvel. If not, then Marvel may need to take that break after secret wars just as you suggest.
I totally agree with the soft reboot idea, even if the last few years haven’t been as popular they’ve put so much time and effort into it they shouldn’t give up on them
I'm really hoping for a hard reboot. If they just throw variants into the "sacred timeline" would be dumb. They've ruined so many character arcs by killing them off or lame plot twists, we need a new universe that is pre existing, no more origin story movies, just good stories to entertain. Like the way the DCU is going
Good feedback! I’m still hoping there’s some way Marvel can salvage the existing characters and then bring in the X-Men and fantastic four to make it so that we have one giant universe with all the character characters we’ve wanted. But your idea is make a lot of sense as well. Can’t wait to see what Marvel decides to do when secret wars finally arrives!
@@AbitofEverything4U I really wanna see the FF and X-Men in the main timeline too, but I just can't get behind the idea of the universe just bringing in everyone. without getting the relationships built up between characters. Like your point talking about how Johnny storm and Spider-Man not having a past relationship if they just merge into the timeline.
I think the post secret wars rebooted marvel universe will be a soft reboot in the veins of the DCU reboot: things that are mentioned in the new movies are canon, while characters and their histories can be recast and retold (this way you don’t have to limit your stories by losing on previous character interactions)
Thanks an interesting suggestion. I like that Gunn is keeping some of the original movies and shows in the new DCU, but I do admit that it can be abit confusing at the same time. But yeah, that could be the route that Marvel goes as well!
@ yeah, marvel doesn’t have the same “universe discontinuity” or “movies to hide under the rug” or “most of the cast needing recasting” problems, so I think this approach could work wonders for the MCU. They really can do whatever they want after secret wars and just use the excuse “Franklin Richards liked the relationship between Spider-Man and Johnny so when he created the new sacred timeline he made them best friends” or something like that. That way we could still use some of the old actors and keep some of the movies as “soft canon” or “prequel to the real sacred timeline” while enjoying all the storytelling benefits of having the recasted big 3, bringing back savage hulk, having oscorp and the Baxter building plopped right in manhattan, and having the choice to skip character origin and introductions for characters like the x-men, alpha flight, champions, ghost rider, etc… I truly think the best route the MCU could go is a “infinity saga inspired more or less hard reboot” with a lived in world full of characters and established interactions justified by what sounded cool in Franklin’s mind after defeating doom and acquiring the power of the beyonders (depending on how much the next two avengers movies will be inspired by the comic books). Lastly I wanted to say that I truly appreciated the MCU up to this point but I truly hope that it will diverge a little bit from the more realistic tone Feige established with phase 1 films and embraced the comic book silliness and the characters they left behind and maybe also non “winter soldier inspired political thriller” serious stories (I want to see a pissed of Peter Parker violently slamming the kingpin or a venomised Daredevil VS Ghost Rider movie in which a corrupted and revengeful Matt crosses the line and kills a criminal and has to confront the spirit of vengeance to be forgiven of his sin) EDIT: also I wanted to say I’m thankful for your response and for all you’ve accomplished with your videos (especially your work as a timeline detective, which I found truly unique and fascinating)
Love your ideas. I hope Marvel is really thinking long and hard about how they’re gonna handle this reboot. So many awesome possibilities. And thank you for the kind words about the channel. Really appreciate your support!
To be fair, the DCU's "soft" reboot barely qualifies as one for two reasons: The Suicide Squad, which was mostly disconnected from the DCEU except for Harley Quinn and Rick Flag, and that one Justice League scene from Peacemaker. As for Blue Beetle, it wasn't connected to the DCEU at all, so it can seamlessly fit into the DCU. Other than those 2, it's pretty much a hard reboot
I genuinely can’t envision Magneto without his backstory from World War II and the Holocaust. The profound connection they share with his past and how it shaped his life and aspirations make him arguably one of the most intricate characters Marvel has created. I understand that as the MCU progresses into the future, it becomes increasingly challenging to imagine an 80-90-year-old Magneto. However, I believe that this aspect of his character is fundamentally integral to him, and I doubt Marvel will eliminate it. I envision a possibility that Magneto and Professor X might also have an “aging factor” similar to Wolverine or Captain America. This could allow them to cast younger actors and use the excuse of “mutant genes” to portray them as younger than their actual ages.
That's a good suggestion. Yeah, I'd be down for Marvel coming up with a creative solution. ig another idea might be that he comes from a universe that is still set in the 90's (such as X-Men 97) as then he would just be 70 or so.
Manifesting that after the rollout of phase 6 and the avengers movies that your channel skyrockets. I watch a lot of comic UA-camrs and you are for sure the most slept on
Ahhh not only do you have an obvious passion for the material, but you replying to SO many comments is amazing!!! Love the community you’re building here and seeing you find any way you can to make it even more special! Big respect !!!
@@AbitofEverything4U Of course!! I’m subscribed to a lot of marvel UA-camrs and while they’re all fantastic there is a certain disconnect ( not that it’s a bad thing at all) because you can tell they love what they do but it’s also their job. Your channel just feels like a passion project which is a nice change of pace. Don’t feel like you get enough praise for it 😂
They could just play off Magnetos age as another mutation which I’d be fine with because without that background with the Holocaust it just takes away so much from his character
I don’t think they should or would recast anyone, but they'll probably use it to make it so mutants always existed and put the fantastic four in the universe.
Yeah, recasting is gonna be very tough. The only reason I suspect they might do it is that Iron Man, for example, is such a popular character and not having him in the MCU would be such a bummer. But I agree that it could go very badly if they don't recast him properly.
I have 5 questions here. 1. Do we even know if there's any truth behind the soft reboot? It’s been rumbling around Hollywood that they are planning to soft rebooot, but it’s still way too early to make decisions. They are probably waiting to see how the next few Marvel projects are received to see what to leave and what to bring with them into the reboot. However, if they land some slam dunks and get the MCU back on track, they won’t need to reboot. It seems to be basically a backup plan if things keep getting worse. 2. I think I’ve heard some rumors saying so. It makes sense to me given how disjointed the MCU has currently become. Secret Wars is the perfect opportunity to do it because it’s literally about an arc where they soft rebooted the comics. It makes sense they would want to basically shove all of the properties they want to make movies and shows about into one or two specific universes so they can end all this multiverse hopping to occasionally see cool cameo heroes we wish could be in their own movie. Put all the teams or characters in the new MCU that canonically don’t exist in the current one like the x men and fantastic four. 3. I'm pretty sure it’s always been their plan? By the time the soft reboot happens it’ll be like almost 2030 probably, meaning the MCU continuity would be around 22ish years old once phase 5 is over/6 is starting. It makes sense why they would want to restart even regardless of their existing popularity. When they began the MCU, they only had the rights to like half of Marvel characters and not much of a plan for where it would all go. They now have the rights to most characters outside of Spiderman and seemingly plan about 1-2 phases in advance before releasing them now. It makes sense that they would want a new MCU they could explore entire different storylines or character arcs while allowing them to reboot everything so it isn’t universal level threats every movie now. Allowing a universe where the X-men, fantastic four, avengers, young avengers, west coast avengers (they really have a lot of avengers teams), midnight sons, the A force, etc all exist basically in the same timeline. End all this random multiversal traveling to see a bunch of new heroes and teams. 4. If it had anything to do with the underperformance of certain things, they wouldn’t be announcing it years ahead of time and spending all their money to build up to it. They’d just do it. Soft Reboot is just a rumor, and “soft reboot” also means that it’s not a reboot, it’s just starting a separate entity from what is established using pieces of what’s already there, meaning Endgame was already a soft reboot (hence why phase 4 was setting up this new era of content). Even though people like to complain about it, phase 4 wasn’t a failure. It made silly amounts of money. And everyone who says they hate phase four also tend to say “I hated it, but I liked such and such”… you know, like every other phase, people liked different aspects and didn’t like others. The idea that P4 was some failure is basically a meme at this point, coming from people who demanded P4 be bigger than what came before… but again, soft reboot, it was never meant to be bigger, it was meant to start the next era/story (like how P1 was smaller, but meant to set up). So ultimately, if there is a soft reboot after the Multiverse Saga finale like the rumors say there will be, that would just be following the exact formula that has already been established; start by introducing all the new key players, build up, build up, build up, big finale, restart. Not to mention that format allows huge actors to resolve their involvement on a high note and move on, like Downey and Evans. So if you see someone saying “they want to soft reboot after the last multiverse avengers movie”, the performance of past things has as much effect on it as it did with Endgame, as in none, it’s just simply the end of that story and time to start a new one. 5. When phase 4 was announced, Kevin Feige confirmed he had the next 5 years planned out in writing and a rough idea of the 5 years after that saying saga will have more chapters but it wouldn't be spread over 10 years, Pre COVID. Last springtime, Kevin confirmed that they had a 10-year plan penned down. So when phase 4 started, I had this saga planned. By last year, he had finished the plan for the Saga after that. One thing so many people forget is that Kevin Feige is a fan first. Even before mcu, Kevin Feige worked only on Marvel movies at a much lower level. With the Spider-man deal just to get them on board, Sony was the one who had the better end of deal. On the ramp up to infinity war in a lot of interviews talking about his excitement about having all this iconic comic book coming together in this comic book style event. Now that they have the fox marvel property this a soft reboot like all new all different will allow them to bring back and recast Tony, and even tchalla. Given them the option to interact with the F4 and the X-Men. Now I correctly predicted secret war at the end of the saga at the time it was only a couple years. As it was the only event that would be bigger in scope than Infinity war. The next saga only makes sense to be X-Men Vs Avengers.
That’s a cool idea! Another idea I’ve heard is that he could come from a universe that has an earlier present day… In other words something like X-Men 97’s universe. There are indeed a lot of ways they could solve it if they want to.
I think hard/soft is a spectrum rather than a binary. The hardest side of the scale is something like the Amazing Spider-Man movies where there's no connection to the previous Spider-Man films whatsoever (at least before No Way Home). The fact Secret Wars is even part of the discussion means this is not an option here. The softest side would be something like The Suicide Squad where everything that led up to it still happened, but the story is specifically made to function as if it were the first in the series.
I think marvel will ask each actor individually if they want to stick around or stop and they recast if needed. Or else. Any character introduced during the infinity saga will get hard reboot and any character introduced in the multiverse saga will soft reboot
Crisis on Infinite Earths isn't really a hard reboot. Most titles weren't even interrupted, and only Superman and Wonder Woman really had their whole lore tossed up. Year One was a direct flashback while the main issues continued on as usual. Superman and Batman still met in the post crisis continuity, between Year One/Man of Steel and "present day" they just weren't on the Justice League founding membership. New 52 was a much harder reboot
Great feedback! Definitely agree that New 52 was a hard reboot, but I think the downstream impact of Superman and Wonder Woman being reset was massive after Crisis. It meant that all the Justice League issues were reset, since Superman and Wonder Woman were reset. While Batman and Superman did meet, I got the impression that most, if not all, of the World's Finish stories were at erased, and anything with Superboy was erased. So not as hard of a reboot as New 52, but it was still a pretty massive change up. But I don't mean any of the negatively. It led to some amazing stories for sure!
10:46 If we are to assume that those two are the same universe, and we remeber that Beast's cameo in DP2 was done by Nicholas Hoult instead of Kelsey Grammer, then man did Beast age in between 2018 and 2024. Poor Guy Of course, we can also assume that they're in two different timelines of the Fox Universe.
Yeah, that cameo in DP 2 was hilarious. But even that cameo aside, the idea that McAvoy and Fassbender were in Dark Phoenix in the early 90's and then they look like Stewart and McKellen in the first X-Men movie in the early 2000's (i.e. about 10 years later), then that's pretty funny, too. There is something wrong with the aging in the X-Verse!
Almost seven minutes in, and you’re not exactly correct with the 2015 Secret Wars stuff. The Ultimate line was never in competition with the mainline, even if Bill Jemas intended for it to replace the 616. They counted on the newer readers to just stick with Ultimate books, and they build the new audience off of that. They didn’t count on casuals who started with the Ultimate line to want more of these characters, and start reading 616 books. By 2009, interest in the Ultimate Universe was waning, and that’s why they did the Ultimatum crossover. This is also why they went completely unrestrained, and murdered characters left and right, during and after Ultimatum.
@ There’s a bit of weirdness that went on during the 2001-04 era of Marvel, that isn’t known by people who didn’t live through it, or talked about it by those who did. On top of forsaking continuity, interconnectivity, and Marvel being ashamed of making superhero books, it was a weird time to be a fan.
In theory, if it comes down to MCU 616 and 10005 merging, they could introduce 10005's Iron Man, Captain America, etc., and those could be the new versions going forward, having a history with the X-Men. The finale of X-Men 97 made a point to show that most of the MCU heroes exist alongside the X-Men in that universe.
I want there to be an equivalent to the new ultimate universe from the comics after Secret Wars. This would allow the opportunity to do new takes on Iron Man or Captain America without jeopardizing the main MCU. So what Gunn is doing with the DCU and Elseworlds. Other than a bit of history alteration, mostly involving mutants and the FF, I don’t see the main MCU changing much post-Secret Wars.
So excited to be early for this one! Being in the discord now, I always get notifications for new videos even when UA-cam fails to notify me :) keep up the great work!
Personally, I just want an extremely soft reboot to retcon how everyone has been there the whole time and know each other even if they don't know it, like how Crisis On Infinite Earths did a very soft reboot and retconed that Supergirl and Black Lightning had been there the whole time.
Yeah, I do like that idea. My only concern is we'll then want to know the details how how Civil War (for instance) went down if the X-Men were there the whole time. But that's probably a small concern. Your idea does work really well.
My big brain theory is Scarlet Witch is going to say something akin to “No more Multiverse” and smashes every universe into one, soft rebooting the MCU. They’ve been teasing this since Wandavision. She fulfills her destiny as a universal destroyer but ultimately does it for a good cause. It would also set up Galactus as the next big bad
I think a hard reboot completely switching up what we associate superhero movies to be. Make them more comic book movies and less action movies, superhero movies as we know them are so burnt out, they’re just never going to get the mass appeal again with the same formula
I think elements from 616, 10005, 838 etc will all be pulled into a whole new universe created in secret wars and thats what we will see going forward. I also think that if we don't get Thor 5 before Secret Wars it may not happen due to the real life stuff with Chris Hemsworth and his health the past few years
Agreed...pulling the best elements from all the different universes is a perfect way to go forward. And I really hope Hemsworth gets to do a Thor 5. Fingers crossed!
I think Secret Wars will result in a similar way to the 2015 comics, or to compare it to another live action superhero adaptation: How The Arrowverse did Crisis on Infinite Earths. The main universe's timeline remains mostly intact, the only major difference being characters that previously were in different universes are now in the main universe. Also I don't think they'll recast Iron man or other older characters, I think post-secret wars will be too X-Men focused for them to do that
That’s a great analogy with the arrowverse and how they handled crisis on infinite earths. I really hope that’s how secret wars goes down. And that’s a good point about Iron Man… Maybe they’ll give his character a rest for a bit. Thank you for all the awesome feedback. Really appreciate it!
Yep, I agree…I think a reboot is inevitable. I personally hope that it’s a soft reboot and doesn’t rewrite a bunch of the history, but we’ll have to wait and see how it all goes down when secret wars arrives!
I feel like it kinda has to be a soft reboot. A hard reboot would alienate too many people and keeping everything the same would be a missed opportunity when you have the perfect chance to do some canon retcons that still make sense in the story
I believe there was a similar Question for Magnetos Age somewhere in the Comics, which he solved with "the Fountain of Youth" of all things. And maybe that could also be done here. Like Ian Mckallens Magneto tries to regain his Powers, and rejuvinate himself in the Process, and the X-Men have to fight him, destroy the Fountain in the Process, and destribute the Water as Mist throughout the World
That’s a very creative solution. Yeah, it seems like there might be a lot of options for Marvel to go with. Another one I’ve heard is magneto could come from a universe with a present day that’s earlier, such as we see in X-Men 97’s universe. Will be interesting to see what Marvel decides to do!
2 things: 1. I think you are definitely overthinking the tree thing. That tree is the multiverse. They already have audiences confused on things they explain so it wouldn't make much sense to confuse them further. Having Loki just be the Atlas of the multiverse is cleaner. 2. The problem they run into with not having histories woth certain characters, most notably mutants, can be solved with the soft reboot. You're not only able to keep your stories going as if nothing happened, you can retroactively change the history of everything as well as if it already happened. Think of the DCU where you're just joining it in progress. In this new universe mutants and the FF were there along with the normal cast of characters and now Wolverine was in WW2 and Magneto has been around since the Holocaust as well. It feels like the easiest and cleanest solution to this.

Great feedback! I am definitely open to the idea that there is only Loki's tree....but there seem to be three things that make that unlikely: 1. America Chavez was the only one that could reach 838. Neither Dr. Strange nor Wanda (who had the power of the Darkhold in her hands) could reach it. On the other hand, variants of both Wanda and Dr. Strange were able to jump between branches during What If season 2. I believe that is due to 838 not being a branch off of the 616 sacred timeline. 2. Incursions seem to occur between disconnected universes. Jumping between branches during What if never caused incursions and Black Widow was even allowed to live in a different Branch after season 1. However, simply showing up in 838 nearly caused an incursion according to Reed. So I don't believe the branches in loki's tree can cause incursions with each other. 3. It doesn't seem likely than a nexus event could create a branch composed of paint. In that universe, the reality stone creates a paint reality. But a nexus event shouldn't be able to change the infinity stones from creating live action to creating paint. So it seems Marvel has setup the multiverse to be composed of branches off of 616 (i.e. Loki's tree) and also separate universes created as part of eternal inflation (i.e. multiple big bangs). If you're interested, I did a longer vid on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/kS-v8GA4Wzc/v-deo.html.
@ 1. Maybe strange left a spell in place to prevent them from finding it? A dead man’s spell is hard to break. 2. I agree. I also noticed this but left the what if series as a numbered part of my time line because it includes characters that have shown up in older shows/movies. That’s about it and I had a hard time finding a reason to incorporate what if onto my timeline. 3.great explanation and it gives more of a visual representation of the multiverse/sacred timeline. I’d love to see kang return at the end of the marvel era and win the multiversal war-then restart the sacred timeline just as he always said he would.
Hopefully, we’ll get some solid answers on how the Multiverse is set up when fantastic four comes out. It seems like Reed Richards is going to tell us a lot of good information.
9:25 "I actually think that was a little confusing because this happens to be a branch in Loki's tree." Do we know that for sure? Technology does let you jump between dimensions, like with Cable's Time-Travel Device and the TVA's Tempads, and all the Kang's obviously have that kind of tech too.
Great question… The reason we know it’s a branch is because it’s actually a continuation of season two, episode one which was the nebula episode. And in the narration for that episode, the watcher said that it was a branch because he gave his standard narration. That’s why I was a little surprised she used the same naming convention that we’ve seen used for separate universes. But my guess is that Captain Carter just came up with her own naming convention, and that it was independent of what the TVA is doing.
I’m been excitedly waiting for your analysis of this particular topic. I would be okay with a soft or hard reboot, but my preference is a softer reboot that gives us a chance to conclude stories for currently developing characters like the young avengers, and them remembering the multiverse that was would be a massive trauma point for nuanced story telling if they give writers the time to do it right, something I’m hoping they will do now that Kevin and Bob have agreed to slow down releases
20:50 I've had this idea for quite a while. Few years after the war Eric Lenchner was abducted by a shadowy organization and put in suspended animation. Years later a certain clawed canadian was escaping. Durring the chaos Lenchner and some other prisoners were freed. What do you think of my idea?
That's a very smart way to take care of the issue. Yeah, perhaps Marvel will do something like that. Also, it would be cool if they grab Magneto from a universe still set in the 90's, such as X-Men 97. Magneto would be alot younger then.
I think this is the way to do it. No one batted at eye at Chris Evans under ice for an additional 60 years than in his comics origin because Cap has to have been in WW2. Magento also needs to have been there, so I wouldn't mind if Erik was under ice
Soft reboot is impossible if you plan Mutant Saga. Hatred against mutants (core theme) is DEEP SEEDED conflict which have decades of build up. It cant just pop out nowhere. So you need make hard reboot in order to make world where conflict between humans and mutants is a common thing
That's a very valid concern. ig one way they could handle it is that we are already seeing that humans in the MCU have an aversion to things that aren't like them. Ritson's edict in Secret Invasion showed the xenophobia that exists. So if the X-Men are suddenly thrust into the 616 universe, it could result in a massive paranoia regarding mutants. But you do raise a very important concern. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Really appreciate it!
I was never a fan of Kang becoming the Beyonder and rather have those two characters separate and I am also glad to see Dr. Doom to be playing a role in this version of Secret Wars. As it seems that you cannot have Marvel's Secret Wars be adapted into the live action films without Dr. Doom playing a major role in it.
For Magneto, since they made both Wanda and Pietro Eastern European with Russian-ish accents, they could always redo Magneto's history to be related to the massive crimes in the USR under Joseph Stalin. It's different, yes, and gets rid of yet another example of bigotry that Magneto has faced, but... It WORKS. Somewhat. Alternatively, they could make Magneto an older villain, who is already long dead, and focus on different characters for a change.
I think they very much could just say that Magneto’s magnetism can help him age slower, “Blah blah I control the iron in my blood and heart to age slower”
I think both of your comments could work. I think that there are other horrible tragedies in history that could be tied to magneto‘s background, or they could find a way to explain how he was able to be around during the holocaust. Perhaps they get magneto from a universe that has an earlier present day… Such as the X-Men 97 universe. That could work!
I hope it's a soft reboot personally, and assume if brought up that what from before retroactively cannon, I don't want to lose everything from before. Also, I believe that they could rework and recast Kang into him turning into Molecule Man.
I think it will be mainly centered around Strange and Doom. Both know incursions are destroying everything and both want to fix it. Doom feels he's the only one who can fix it and Strange wants to because he was told by Reed in MOM that it's always Stranges that cause incursions. To stop them, both will be after Loki, replacing the beyonders role in the comics. In the end, Doom wins, taking his powers and combining the remaining universe into Battleworld for Secret Wars. That's my theory for the basic plot.
It needs to be a soft reboot where some characters stay the same and some characters are either partially or entirely rebooted. I think the Avengers should (for the most part) entirely reboot the characters.
I agree… I prefer a soft reboot, which maintains as much of the original history as possible. Will be really interesting to see what they decide when secret wars comes out!
Andrew Garfield would get summoned like that. This would help the boost of the Spiderman IP again of many actors on the same story of the old secret wars in Doomsday.
The avengers won’t be the focus, so they don’t need to raise the stakes. They’ll have the x men and go from their lower stakes to higher stakes. Probably: Sentinels, Mr Sinister, Brotherhood, Mojo, Days of future past, Dark Pheonix, Krakoa, Apocalypse, House of M/Avengers Vs X-Men. The stakes will be more emotional and social than world ending.
@ethanryan4188 Great question! I agree with the other comments made. Marvel may not have to worry about it, if they can rely on the excitement and novelty of finally having the X-Men and Fan 4 in the same universe with the Avengers. Hopefully there will be lots of amazing stories to tell. We'll have to wait and see!
Honestly, I think getting a new Iron Man, Captain America etc is just about the worst choice they can make. Marvel has already attempted to do a soft relaunch of these characters through figures like Iron Heart, Sam Wilson etc and these have been some of the worst received characters in the current MCU. In fact I would argue Kate Bishop is the ONLY successful attempt to reboot one of these legacy characters. In my opinion where the MCU has been most successful is where they try to tell new stories, and I am infinitely more excited to see what they do with characters like Moon Knight and Shang Chi than I am for the new version of Iron Man or Ant Man. I strongly suspect this will play out this year with Thunderbolts* outperforming Captain America. I think it is important to remember that Captain America, Iron Man and Thor were not particularly popular among general audiences until the MCU made them popular. A DCU needs to have Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, but perhaps with the exception of Spiderman Marvel doesn't have any characters that MUST be in the universe for it to be successful. Let these iconic characters rest, we don't need another Iron Man, we don't need another Captain America. Marvel still has PLENTY of material to work through, and frankly both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four had a larger cultural footprint than the Avengers did pre-2008 anyway. We don't need a reboot, soft or hard, and if Marvel can focus on what's coming instead of always looking back to its golden days then the best of the MCU could very well still be to come.
I think the best plan and the plan we are headed towards is a soft reboot where we have one consolidated marvel universe that is mostly like the current 616 but with the X-men, F4, inhumans, defenders, avengers and everything we’ve ever wanted. Probably with most actors reprising their roles with others like ghost rider and most of the x-men being reimagined. But I don’t think you should think about it as a new starting point as much as a continuation like when Miles was brought over after Hickman’s Secret Wars. Now whether the spider related characters and villains are also rooted in this new universe is up to Sony. In a perfect world they’d just start playing ball with marvel studios and build one story, even disconnected from anything universe ending. We don’t live in a perfect world.
I feel like they really should do a hard reboot quite soon... because they don't want to get stuck in a similar situation where Big2 comics is right now. Also, I'm pretty sure interest in multiverse stories is declining, and a hard reboot could leave all multiverse shenanigans behind.
Great points! Yeah, whether they do a hard reboot or a soft reboot, they need to collapse the multiverse, as it will have run its course by Secret Wars, for sure!
10,000% age up T'challas son! That way "T'challa" is still black panther and he carries his father's legacy with him the way his father (Chadwick's T'challa) carried his father's legacy with him in the first one, and he doesn't have to just age up to a teen a lot of people think he'll only be a teen as opposed to a proper adult avenger black panther but we can totally have that! we can Oops lose him in a Beyonder Doom time vortex multiverse mcguffin and out pops 30 year old T'challa junior ready to become king and black panther. They've created a perfect way to "recast" T'challa AND keep it an in universe soft reboot of the Character! Essentially a straight up recast except he'll still get to be emotionally connected to our preexisting wakandan Characters! In fact now that I think of it they did exactly that with Scott in Endgame! Where he comes back as an old man, or a baby, just have T'challa jr. accidentally get sucked into a multiverse portal type thing and when they pull him back through he's aged 20 years in 30 seconds. In fact we could even combine the two ideas and say when they pull him back 30 seconds later and he's 20 years older maybe he's actually lived those 20 years in another universe so he's our universe's T'challa Jr. and remembers growing up with Nakia and Aunt Shuri, But now he's lived a variants life for 20 years growing up in a parallel universe. All this to say they've set themselves up to PERFECTLY recast Tchalla while keeping him connected to the one we love, without just having some alternate panther come through a portal and just be a perfect replacement which I feel would cheapen the Character slightly.
I’m against a soft or hard reboot. Variants are a way to bring alternates in and retell stories, but honor the characters and actors we’ve had since day 1
I don't think they'll reboot the MCU, but they will make it somehow that the MCU's versions of the mutants and FF will be easily/safely accessible for crossovers... whether it be merging the world(s) or having pocket dimensions within the sacred timeline I think taking the FF out of the retro futuristic style and sticking them in the MCU would take away what's making them unique and the X-Men has proven to be a sustainable universe of characters on its own... I feel like putting them in the sacred timeline would lose the uniqueness of those franchises so keeping them separate but accessible would be a good compromise.... like maybe the heroes isolated themselves from all other universes to avoid incursions but can still somehow travel to a select few timelines for the fun crossovers. I know Kang manipulated the multiverse via his TVA to keep himself isolated from other dimension Kangs and stop new potential Kangs from branching out within his tree (I'm operating off your solid multiple tree theory).... But I wonder if we'll discover that the main villain Dr Doom/RDJ variant was somehow responsible for the FF and X-Men from not existing in the sacred timeline as well.... maybe he was fearful of the FF's Nathaniel Richard's bloodline and/or Rama Tut vs Apocalypse conflict from eventually creating a Kang that could defeat him so he prevented it by stopping the FF or mutant gene from ever happening. I know he's a sorcerer with an occasional connection to Wanda in some stories, so perhaps he is responsible for the creation of the sacred timeline's Darkhold/Wundagore mountain shrine to the Scarlet Witch as well... to create a plot device (a corrupted Wanda) capable of destabilizing the multiverse for him as well. Plenty of ways for them to demonstrate/retcon that Dr Doom had been manipulating things from the beginning of time for our MCU sacred timeline
Lots of great theories! I'm very curious to see how Marvel integrates the Fantastic Four and the X-Men into the existing universe. Lots to consider, as you mentioned. And I do think the idea of someone having manipulated the sacred timeline to keep the X-Men and Fantastic Four out is very interesting. Can't wait to see how things all go down!
20:35 I heard an interesting route they could take for Magneto by taking X-Men characters from the 80s and bringing them to modern day, that way Magneto still has his origin and not be in his 90s
I really like that idea… Yeah, that would work perfectly!

I hate soft reboots. 20 years of main MCU and 30 years of non-MCU movies (since the first Blade movie because it's the oldest continuity that is still going) is too much continuity. They need to fully start over and keep everyting in the same universe like the comics 616. The biggest problem with that will be Sony and Spider-Man related characters. Disney should make a deal to license all these characters and keep Sony out of making movies.
I agree...soft reboots can be kinda lame if not handled carefully. That said, I do think 2015's Secret Wars did a good job, so if Marvel can replicate what they did in the comics, but do it with a unique MCU flair, then it could work. And yeah, I don't know what to think about Sony at this point. They are such a mess. Sigh.
Yeah, I definitely hope there’s a way that they can keep that history. It’s just going to be tricky due to the amount of time since those prison camps. Perhaps they could bring in a magneto from a universe with a present day that is earlier. For example, X-Men 97’s universe. That might work great!
I just feel like it's a bit mean or a waste to reboot some characters We get: One Sam Wilson cap movie before being replaced by Steve Rogers again The first Spider-Man film in a trilogy before randomly getting rebooted into a new universe Not to mention the TV shows which may or may not get a second season It feels messy I get why they'd do it But still
Good point about Steve Rogers. Yeah, they have to be careful with him, since we now have Falcon. As for Spider-Man, I'd be fine if they bring in Miles and then Peter mentors him for abit. That could be a fun storyline.
Great video! If they’re willing to do it, I would absolutely love to have McAvoy, Fassbender, and Peters back. And you made a video where you pointed out that the different universes may have different present days. That way, their universe can take place earlier, so Magneto can still be young enough to still have been in the Holocaust.
Oh, now that's a great point. If they pull a Magneto from a universe that has an earlier present day (such as X-Men 97), then we could get a Magento from there that still has ties to the prison camps!
I’d definitely prefer a soft reboot. I understand the sentiment and desire for a hard reboot, but I personally love how rewarding it is to stick with these characters and story arcs since the beginning and just keep going.
If they do a reboot it should be a soft one. MOVIES (no tv shows) showing our brand new heroes. They all connect in an Avengers movie. There could be references and cameos to the old MCU and just say everything happens but you don’t need the info. They should just do a cast where you don’t need to watch 5 different movies and 10 different tv shows
I think a hard reboot is absolutely the WRONG choice. They run the risk of alienating their old audiences and confusing new ones. A soft one is probably what they'll do and is what will be needed after Secret Wars.
I agree 100%! As someone that was reading comics when Crisis came out, I loved the mini-series but after I realized how massively it affected the previous continuity, I was really bummed. So I agree with you that I don't want a hard reboot.
IF Marvel were to reboot the MCU, it will be VERY soft. There’s just too much up in air with what projects are currently moving forward that a reboot feels pointless. And similarly, I don’t think bringing in new actors for variants would work right now. Having a brand new Iron Man paired together with all the history of our current Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, etc. would feel very messy, and would probably be too much for moviegoers to stomach. That’s why if Marvel to reboot, they should commit 100% and restart everything but I still feel that we’re a couple decades away from that(if everything in the future goes well of course). I’m sure many people will disagree with me with this point, but I admire what Marvel has done by continuing the legacy of these heroes through new characters. That’s truly what I believe is the way forward.
Great feedback! I agree with everything you said. I do hope they recast Black Panther, but I'd be okay if the "big three" don't come back for abit. I mean we do have a new Cap (Sam) and a new Black Widow (Yelena) and perhaps Riri will take off as the new Iron Man.
Yep, I suspect many fans will agree with you on that. I personally prefer a soft reboot, but I do agree that a hard reboot would give a very nice launch pad for new fans!
20:23 I’m a little confused here. They already don’t have that classic relationship. With a soft reboot wouldn’t that make it more possible to interject that friendship?
My apologies, I should’ve been more specific. In the comics they have that relationship going back decades. So I was making the point that some fans might want MCU history to be rewritten so that it’s as though Spider-Man and Johnny storm have known each other for years. My gut feeling is Marvel isn’t gonna do that and instead we’re gonna see their first meeting and get to see their friendship form.
12:54 Marvel needs to somehow address the situation with the Council of Kangs after teasing them in Quantumania. 13:23 They're going to be one member short.
For a while I've been a firm believer that there shouldn't be a "main" universe in a multiverse anyways. It's like singling out a single pea in a bowl of peas. With that in mind I think the MCU should ditch the sacred timeline and find a new primary setting with a similar history. A place where the X-Men are already present alongside the Avengers, maybe even the Fantastic Four as well. Most of the major events still happened (in a broad strokes way) but this new world would be a great place to start fresh. The sacred timeline would still exist but would no longer be the focus. Note: this is just my 2 cents, I'm not a movie writer and my idea could destroy the franchise if it's wrong so take it with a grain of salt. I'd cherry pick what to keep. Evan Peters Quicksilver is definitely one as well as Tom Holland as Spider-Man. If I could I'd put Captain Marvel into a coma with a new Rogue getting her powers like X-Men TAS. Edit: The Holocaust to me is too important to Magneto's backstory. My best remedy is to simply avoid giving the new timeline a "present day year". IE it's many vague years after the tragedy but isn't too far after. Lazy, yes but it'd be a great way to keep things timeless.
Great feedback! I agree, I hope Marvel can find a way to keep the Holocaust as part of Magneto's backstory. Maybe Magneto can come from a universe with an earlier "present day", such as the X-Men 97 universe?
In the comics Black Panther debuts in Fantastic Four, so it might be a cool nod to have the new Black Panther come from the new Fantastic Four universe.
18:37 wasn’t the empty chair on the team meant for doctor strange? The variant who used the darkhold to kill Thanos. I suppose there’s a world where they’ve already replaced him with a Black Panther, but i’m willing to bet that the implication was far simpler than that sadly. Regardless, cool idea!
@ZeroSR Good question. After Dr. Strange died in that universe, I heard rumors at one point that Daniel Craig was going to fill that chair as Balder the Brave. But since that didn't happen, I think it would be very cool if it was actually meant for Black Panther!
I absolutely do not want it to, I feel like the past 10 years of my emotional investment would be for nothing if the universe got rebooted. There's three possibilities; a full complete reboot using everyone from the beginning, a partial reboot where everything keeps going like nothing happened but it's slowly revealed that older events were altered to include new characters/multiversal immigrants set up shop in the MCU, and no reboot whatsoever where the universe we have now is completely unchanged. Since Fantastic Four First Steps is a movie that's happening, it's pretty obvious that the second option is the option we're getting.

I thought that Kang was addressed during Loki season 2. My understanding of it is that Loki becoming a living conduit of the sacred timeline gave him a bird's eye view of every Kang. Loki and the TVA are functioning sort of like a central finite curve for Kang. Sort of like what Rick and Morty is doing with the counsel of Rick's. So in that way, Kang is limited to his own bubble in the same way Ultron and Kilmonger are in What If. But like I said that's just my head canon. I'm just an MCU apologist trying to stretch my imagination and enjoy what's available to me.
Great question! So my understanding of what happened at the end of the Loki series is that any new Kang variants that pop-up are being handled by the TVA. However, the threat that I think they’re not aware of is the Kang council which we saw at the end of Quantumania…Especially the big three Kangs. They seem to be in a location out of reach of the TVA.
I think the best option is a soft reboot with the best of the new people from this saga staying while most from the original saga can be varient rebooted or be done with, all while new things can also come into play like different X-Men actors and different yet to be used characters. But that's just my opinion. I feel a hard reboot is just an excuse to redo characters storylines like going from Tobey Maguire's _Spiderman to Andrew Garfield's _Amazing Spiderman._ Soft reboot's can connect while hard reboots would just feel like another universe to many fans, even if it would still be considered connecting. Either way I'm down for whatever they do as they would both be connected overall, but I'd prefer a soft reboot.

Yes it will. I was first to share this tidbit on Twitter.
Bummer… I’m sorry you’re feeling down about the MCU. Maybe 2025 will bring fans back because I’m hoping it’ll be a really good year!
I like that idea!
Yeah, there's not really a good reason for them to be connected, it's just going to add restrictions.
It is a separate Multiverse. Marvel Comics already confirmed this
@ Exactly so I don’t get why people get mad about the MCU being called 616
Best idea is to say he ages slowly as a secondary mutation + that he was like locked up in stasis
I definitely be down for that!
yeah i think we as a society have just all agreed on the fact that when it comes to Magneto that he should just age slowly to keep up his holocaust backstory, though that would mean Charles would have the same situation going with his age but it’s all fantasy at the end of the day so it’s fine
I agree… There are definitely some issues that could arise with the aging situation.
I just feel it would lead to a sour taste in everyone’s mouths to just reboot the entire MCU,all these years of rich lore, movies, shows, comics,to just be like “ok everything before doesn’t matter anymore, this new stuff is what actually matters”
“rich lore” ???????????????
Maybe some but not really. Besides every year that goes by it gets harder for newbies to join in because there’s so much homework to get through
that’s why they are just gonna soft reboot it so if anyone wants to go through everything they can
With the current state of MCU yearly trash flow a reboot will do more good than harm to this creatively bankrupt franchise
A hard reboot would be absolutely amazing, and I have several reasons
So, yeah, thats why I think a hard reboot is the best way to go
Excellent feedback! Those are indeed some very solid reasons for a hard reboot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
@@soysauce9940 exactly this. New cast, same characters but new stories!
100% agree we need a new cast and new continuity to keep it fresh for new audiences and a chance to get back characters like Black Panther and Iron Man back to me it can save some time
It will also solve the problem with Spiderman and the x-men.
I’m so curious to see what Marvel does with the X-Men… Can’t wait!
After the mutant saga is over, I want the Galactic Saga where Galactus is the big baddie.
Agreed...we need a big time Galactus story!
Hopefully all that stuff happens with a reboot before it
If only there was a Galactus anything story…. He’s usually just fodder for a big baddie to beat up and show off how strong they are:
Yeah, I really hope we see Galactus get used heavily after secret wars.
Great suggestion for the MCU to do what X-Men 97 has done with the major characters like Cap. Love how well it worked for that show!
A hard reboot would make it much easier for new fans to jump on the mcu
Great point! If Marvel does go with a soft reboot, it will be very important to find a way to do that so that new fans don't feel they have to watch Phases 1-6 just to jump on board. And that might be too tough of a task to accomplish.
"We definitely have enough Reed Richards out there", I guess you could scientifically say we have team, a 'Field of Reeds'.
Niiiiiice! We do indeed.
Well said! The multiverse needs to be brought under control as a result of Secret Wars ending. Love that idea!
Do what DC did, The infinite multiverse becomes just a limited amount, say 4 universes
Yeah… Marvel definitely needs to limit the infinite Multiverse down to something manageable.
I Would Prefer a Soft Reboot cause there is no point in Throwing out all this great continuity and history that has been built up since 2008 Iron Man.
Well its hare for new guys to get in, cause of the huge homework
Even the fans from beginning have to watch recaps to keep up
I completely forgot how leader got his powers and had to recap videos of incredible hulk to prepare for cap4
I completely agree!
I think a soft reboot makes the most sense... Reintroduce beloved characters in ways that make sense in the current mcu, but also preserve the stories and relationships from the past 17 years within the continuity
Agree 100%!
I think the MCU needs a long rest after Secret Wars. It won’t get one, but it should
Yeah, I do hear that from several fans. I think a lot is riding on 2025 and I’m hoping it’s a great year for Marvel. If not, then Marvel may need to take that break after secret wars just as you suggest.
I totally agree with the soft reboot idea, even if the last few years haven’t been as popular they’ve put so much time and effort into it they shouldn’t give up on them
Well said!
I'd like to see the new Black Panther be a variant of Killmonger.
That would be a very wild twist. Marvel might go that direction!
Yeah, that is such a key point regarding the reboot. I truly have no idea at this point which direction Marvel will go.
That way we could still use some of the old actors and keep some of the movies as “soft canon” or “prequel to the real sacred timeline” while enjoying all the storytelling benefits of having the recasted big 3, bringing back savage hulk, having oscorp and the Baxter building plopped right in manhattan, and having the choice to skip character origin and introductions for characters like the x-men, alpha flight, champions, ghost rider, etc…
I truly think the best route the MCU could go is a “infinity saga inspired more or less hard reboot” with a lived in world full of characters and established interactions justified by what sounded cool in Franklin’s mind after defeating doom and acquiring the power of the beyonders (depending on how much the next two avengers movies will be inspired by the comic books). Lastly I wanted to say that I truly appreciated the MCU up to this point but I truly hope that it will diverge a little bit from the more realistic tone Feige established with phase 1 films and embraced the comic book silliness and the characters they left behind and maybe also non “winter soldier inspired political thriller” serious stories (I want to see a pissed of Peter Parker violently slamming the kingpin or a venomised Daredevil VS Ghost Rider movie in which a corrupted and revengeful Matt crosses the line and kills a criminal and has to confront the spirit of vengeance to be forgiven of his sin)
EDIT: also I wanted to say I’m thankful for your response and for all you’ve accomplished with your videos (especially your work as a timeline detective, which I found truly unique and fascinating)
I watch a lot of comic UA-camrs and you are for sure the most slept on
That's very nice of you to say. Thanks so much for the support!
Ahhh not only do you have an obvious passion for the material, but you replying to SO many comments is amazing!!! Love the community you’re building here and seeing you find any way you can to make it even more special! Big respect !!!
Thanks! That's very nice of you to say. I do love the community. I learn so much from reading and responding to the comments.
Don’t feel like you get enough praise for it 😂
I really appreciate you saying that! You’re right, this is indeed a passion project for me. I truly love doing it!
They could just play off Magnetos age as another mutation which I’d be fine with because without that background with the Holocaust it just takes away so much from his character
That’s a really good suggestion. I’ve also heard the suggestion of him coming from a universe with an earlier present day… Such as X-Men 97.
Great questions! I'm not sure if anything is confirmed at this point, but my bet is on a soft reboot. We'll have to wait and see!
You could easily explain away the Magneto problem, just say that he has a secondary mutation that extends his lifespan
Excellent points!
I think marvel will ask each actor individually if they want to stick around or stop and they recast if needed. Or else. Any character introduced during the infinity saga will get hard reboot and any character introduced in the multiverse saga will soft reboot
Great feedback. That makes alot of sense!
Poor Guy
Of course, we can also assume that they're in two different timelines of the Fox Universe.
There is something wrong with the aging in the X-Verse!
i hope they keep loki alive but use him as a battery like molecue man
I don't, Loki should be recast and be a villain again.
Yeah, I suspect Loki could very well be the molecule man substitute. Great theory!
It would indeed be funny to see Loki and Spider-Man throwing insults at each other
Almost seven minutes in, and you’re not exactly correct with the 2015 Secret Wars stuff.
Oh how interesting! OK, I always felt like the ultimates were a popular line, but I suspect you’re probably correct. Thanks for sharing that!
What a bummer! I wasn’t aware of that
In theory, if it comes down to MCU 616 and 10005 merging, they could introduce 10005's Iron Man, Captain America, etc., and those could be the new versions going forward, having a history with the X-Men. The finale of X-Men 97 made a point to show that most of the MCU heroes exist alongside the X-Men in that universe.
Great point...I agree, that's a fantastic way to bring in replacements!
That's a very interesting idea. Marvel might benefit from an Elseworlds set of storylines.
If marvel does pull a secret wars reboot this time in the movies instead of the comics which failed I will give them credit where it’s do.
Yeah, I'm hoping for the best. Fingers crossed!
@ same here I am hoping for the best as well.

So excited to be early for this one! Being in the discord now, I always get notifications for new videos even when UA-cam fails to notify me :) keep up the great work!
Awesome to have you on the Discord. Really appreciate your support of the UA-cam channel as well!
It would be great for Scarlet Witch to have a huge role in secret wars. Love your suggestion for how she can be involved!
I think a hard reboot completely switching up what we associate superhero movies to be. Make them more comic book movies and less action movies, superhero movies as we know them are so burnt out, they’re just never going to get the mass appeal again with the same formula
Cool idea! Yeah, perhaps that's what Marvel's got in mind.
@ yeah they just need to let creatives actually be creative, spider verse did and it was like a breathe of fresh air
💯
Love hearing you talking about comics as much as you do about the cinematic universes! Would love to see more and what you read ❤
Yeah, that was fun taking a dive into the comics for this video. I don’t do it as often as I probably should, but any chance I get I love to do it!
Praying we get as many first class X-Men back as we can
I agree...would love to see them back again!
They don't really have a choice.
It's either:
1: Keep the same actors until they die
2: Just stop using the IP they spent billions on
3. Reboot
I 100% agree...well said!
2 things:
I agree when it comes to incorporating all the older content into the new multiverse.

€-from the looks of it, these two movies may continue where the eternals left off. We just have to wait and see (update: the eternals is the build up to CA brave new world and Thunderbolts so I placed it after Deadpool and Wolverine).
•I am also predicting “What if…” S:3 will take place after X-men ‘97 due to the appearance of the watcher. If this is not the case, I will move it to its correct space in the timeline. (Edit: moved “what if” to new slot due to the appearance of the eternals, Agatha harkness, and characters that have made appearances, up to the release of season 3).
•YFNH Spider-man is an alternate timeline but still based on Tom Hardy’s Spider-Man so I placed it here, because it adds to the spider-man portion of the multiverse saga; even though it’s not considered canon. If there are mentions of other multiverse events, I will move it to its correct slot and correct its classification.

•Madame web, Kraven, and Morbius can all suck a fat one. You don’t have to watch them but they add to a dark time in the multiverse saga.
•Howard the duck was added as requested by utvFalseGod. Its also is the first marvel movie made, and introduces HTD to the mcu, in the GOTG post credit scene.

ALL HAIL DOOM!!!
Great feedback! I am definitely open to the idea that there is only Loki's tree....but there seem to be three things that make that unlikely:
It seems like Reed Richards is going to tell us a lot of good information.
lol I LOVE that you started this with the literal definition of reboots 😂
lol…Can you tell I’m a computer programmer?
As a person who hasn’t read the comics I have to say…all I could see and hear was “Council of Ricks” and wonder who the MCU’s Morty would be
Great question. Loved the Council of Ricks!
9:25 "I actually think that was a little confusing because this happens to be a branch in Loki's tree."
Do we know that for sure?
Awesome feedback! Yes, I agree with everything you said. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out when secret wars concludes!
Yeah, I think it would work really well!
Yeah, it just doesn’t feel like a secret wars is adaptation if we don’t have Dr. Doom. So I’m really glad Marvel decided to go that route!
I agree...I'd much prefer a soft reboot. And that's a fantastic idea of making Kang into Molecule Man!
Excellent theory!
I don't think we need a new iron man or black widow or steve rogers, take their character exits as an excuse to focu on other characters.
They were supposed to do this like 6 years ago but have fallen completely on their faces.
@dutchalfred553 that’s a good point… Perhaps they should leave those characters alone for a while.
I love your videos as always keep up the great work
Thanks! That’s very nice of you to say. Really appreciate your awesome support!
I wonder what’s gonna happen with all the Kang variants
I really hope we get to find out. I want Marvel to resolve that storyline!
Andrew Garfield would get summoned like that. This would help the boost of the Spiderman IP again of many actors on the same story of the old secret wars in Doomsday.
Would love to see Andrew Garfield get another shot at the role!
i feel as if they’re gonna adapt the all new all different initiative from the comics while also having it be a soft reboot
Excellent theory!
I hope after secret wars there will be more x-men movies
I agree… I hope we get a lot of X-Men movies once we move into phase 7!
I'm really curious how the MCU will top Secret Wars?
They don't really need to, lowering the stakes and making the stories more personal would really benefit the mcu in my opinion
@@orion-d1t Yeah that sounds really cool!
@@holycowthatsoutofthisworld3831 These all sound sick, I can't wait for all the X-Men storylines!
Great feedback. I agree, those are some good reasons to let those characters rest for abit, before brining them back!
I think those are great ideas that you suggested. I really do hope it’s a soft reboot that maintains as much of the history as possible.
Awesome feedback! Yes, I think that would work really well.
I’m against a soft or hard reboot. Variants are a way to bring alternates in and retell stories, but honor the characters and actors we’ve had since day 1
Yeah, I agree… I definitely don’t wanna lose any of the history that we have with the MCU.
Great video Jeff!
Dude! Zuuuuuup!
Is the King Thanos ride out already? And if so could be expect an updated video on all the MCU amusement rides?
I think the ride will be ready in 2025. It's taken quite awhile, but looks to be on track for this year.
@@AbitofEverything4U awesome! Will you an updated video on the MCU amusement rides when it's finally out?
That’s a great idea!
I don't think they'll reboot the MCU, but they will make it somehow that the MCU's versions of the mutants and FF will be easily/safely accessible for crossovers... whether it be merging the world(s) or having pocket dimensions within the sacred timeline
I think taking the FF out of the retro futuristic style and sticking them in the MCU would take away what's making them unique and the X-Men has proven to be a sustainable universe of characters on its own...
Now this is 100% a great idea and plan for the MCU'S post Secret Wars plan imo.
💯
Sigh.
Magneto and his history are the one thing they NEED to keep. His history is far too important to the character to just throw away.
Yeah, I definitely hope there’s a way that they can keep that history. It’s just going to be tricky due to the amount of time since those prison camps. Perhaps they could bring in a magneto from a universe with a present day that is earlier. For example, X-Men 97’s universe. That might work great!
@AbitofEverything4U I just hope that however they do handle it works well for the story honestly.
💯
I just feel like it's a bit mean or a waste to reboot some characters
We get:
One Sam Wilson cap movie before being replaced by Steve Rogers again
The first Spider-Man film in a trilogy before randomly getting rebooted into a new universe
Not to mention the TV shows which may or may not get a second season
It feels messy
I get why they'd do it
But still
Good point about Steve Rogers.
I agree 100%. Well said!
If they do a reboot it should be a soft one. MOVIES (no tv shows) showing our brand new heroes. They all connect in an Avengers movie. There could be references and cameos to the old MCU and just say everything happens but you don’t need the info.
They should just do a cast where you don’t need to watch 5 different movies and 10 different tv shows
Yeah, I think that's a good way forward. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it!
YES. They should reboot after Secret Wars 3.
Yep, I suspect many fans will agree with you on that. I personally prefer a soft reboot, but I do agree that a hard reboot would give a very nice launch pad for new fans!
I think creating the new universe to ve more like the new ultimate universe would be really cool
Yeah, I wonder if Marvel might look at doing an elseworld’s type situation similar to how DC does it.
I just would love if we get a proper Secret Invasion eventually. But maybe House of M after Secret Wars or something.
Yeah, I'd love to see those storylines done right. House of M would be epic!
12:54 Marvel needs to somehow address the situation with the Council of Kangs after teasing them in Quantumania.
13:23 They're going to be one member short.
Yeah, I really hope we get resolution with the Kang storyline. Would be such a bummer, if not!
Very true...I'd be down for that!
what if for magneto they have a old actor in the beginning but transfer his brain to a computer or another person like in winter soldier
I like the idea of them adapting the ultimate runs going on rn
18:37 wasn’t the empty chair on the team meant for doctor strange? The variant who used the darkhold to kill Thanos. I suppose there’s a world where they’ve already replaced him with a Black Panther, but i’m willing to bet that the implication was far simpler than that sadly. Regardless, cool idea!
Doctor Strange was replaced by Mordo. This was explained in the movie. So on the chair where Mordo sat, Stephen originally sat
@ZeroSR Good question. After Dr. Strange died in that universe, I heard rumors at one point that Daniel Craig was going to fill that chair as Balder the Brave. But since that didn't happen, I think it would be very cool if it was actually meant for Black Panther!
you know your comics. I love that! subbed.
That’s very nice of you to say. Really appreciate your support of the channel and great to have you here!
the Fantastic Four universe better be Earth - 4444
Now that would be epic!
The mcu is always developing and we can see how future events are planned in current content.

@-stand-alone sagas/episodes that are seperate, but still contribute to the continuity of the sacred timeline.
%-included for the hell of it.
•You don’t have to watch the fox movies, or punisher flicks-but it adds to the WADP and SMNWH cameos.
•I also included Cloak and dagger under this category because it mentions Luke Cage and Misty.
•Leigion, the gifted, and the new mutants, accompany the fox X-men saga (They have nothing to do with the Deadpool movies or mentioned anywhere alse on the MCU timeline).
•The Ghost rider movies also contribute to the origin of Reyes’ Ghostrider in AOS S:4.
•Runaways was added because of the Dr. Strange references and mentions the Loa from cloak and dagger.
•Madam web is trash. I put it there because it introduces the web of events and opens up the 616 to the Sonyverse (post what if…S:2).
A-Agents of shield episodes that precede and/or proceed main events in the main MCU timeline.
DS-Defenders saga episodes that precede and/or proceed main events in the main MCU timeline.
$-Sonyverse, aka trash (Venom and the spiderverse flicks are cool, but the rest suck).
Let me know what you think and enjoy the list!
ALL HAIL DOOM!!!
I agree, I would be really bummed if they went with a hard reboot. Some version of a soft reboot is what I would prefer.
Very well said! I completely agree. I vastly prefer a soft reboot.
Love to see Black Panther be a iconic figure of the MCU adjacent universe to say that we are going to have a ball with the two.
