I don't know why this song popped in my head today, but I'm so glad I'm revisiting vids of it! I sing a lot of jazz, and will sing this! It's such a hip song, and listening to your patter, I know why it fits jazz! Thank you!
ATTN: young-uns: Keep exploring this era of rock and enjoy-your parent's vinyl has more masterpieces like "UNDUN" (speld corctly) We had more time back then to study the album covers. I found this performance fascinating. The guy lucky enough to sing this song is in awe of it - that says it all. Randy and Burton are a timeless team at the highest level. Classic rock lives on...
Do you know how this song is supposed to be? If so, then do you not have functioning ears? Or perhaps most of your brain was removed during a lobotomy? He does NOT sing great and what story are you talking about? People are talking about how he FUCKED up a song sung by a damn master, Burton Cummings.
@@BPoweredLove Bachman wrote the tune, he can sing it any damn way he pleases! And it’s obvious that you’re the one with the lobotomy if you can’t figure out by now that Bachman and Cummings have two distinct registers. Cummings sings at a higher pitch naturally, Bachman has a lower singing voice, “taking care of business” and “you ain’t seen nothing yet” is about as high as he can go. The original writer of the song has carte blanche as to how it’s presented. This version in the lower key was probably how it was originally written by Bachman and presented to Cummings.
Slow down with your negative comments about the vocals!! Burton Cummings was the original vocalist on this tune, but Mr. Bachman wrote it and played the guitar, so shut the hell up!! Cummings has (arguably) the best voice in rock and roll!! Keep on rockin' Randy!!
@Jmonstra: Hmmmm... Randy Bachman has had a pretty good career. I think he's had a few "number ones" and a bucket full of top ten hits. I'll take that kind of "god awful" any day! Jmonstra, what do YOU do for a living?
He's not trying to be Burton Cummings.... or "belt it out of the park" The man is just sharing a story about a few bits of an old song with his audience. Get a grip!
@Jmonstra; You say "His career may be good, but that's indicative of nothing"??? That is an absurd statement my friend. As I said, this isn't 1974 anymore. The man is simply sharing a few songs from a long time ago with his fans. I think you might be a tad jealous ;)
Great song but I have to only one thing about the singing...LOL. In no way am I trying to put Randy down but it almost sounds like a joke doing this. Burton or don't do it.

Perhaps one of the world's most underrated composers and musicians.
i played this song a ton of times in the '60s. but just recently i learned the correct chords from one of Gary's vids, i'm 72 now, hehehehe :)
True Canadiana TALENT !!! THANKS RANDY, YOU WERE IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR !!!
you get the feeling that Randy never gets sick of playing this song
This always reminded me of a Brazilian bossa nova song

I just incredibly, irrationally love this song, and have done so since first hearing it in '69.
great singer..liked what he mentioned about Mr. Dylan's singing..;-)
some guys are extraordinary!!!! where can I find one???
Great storyteller songwriter and picker......and he taught us how to play that bloody intro chord to "A hard Days Night".
Brilliant~!
Excellent...how is Bachman/ Cummings not in the R&R HOF?
Just strumming chords here - but he's actually the best guitarist I've ever sen in person.

And you cut down Bobby Zimmermann's voice, Randy? Really?
:)
I love Dylan

@Jmonstra:
Randy Bachman has forgotten more about playing music that you will ever know.

This is not terrible..just different
This reminds me of a freind called natasha. I like her but she absolutely hates me now.
@FiberMania
And Jmonstra's argument of "... voice is god awful" wins at 2:35
Very much sounds like a dying coyote.
Natasha: i thought we were freinds. You know I like but you are always finding something wrong me. Can we start over ???
@Jmonstra
The non dying coyote version...

Acoustics terrible Randy should not have sung this song - not his style, and not at all as good as Burton
Rap sucks. all they did was take crap and droped the c!
This guy cannot sing...ouch
