Only had this happen to me once. Learned my lesson the first time. Cost me just a few million ISK.
What makes it very hard to not spam the delivery containers is how hard it is to actually get one before someone else does. So you have to process a lot of information very quickly to have a chance at making money with deliveries.
Exactly. That’s the exact behavior the scammer counts on. People being in a hurry to accept and not spot the container size
@@GicaForta Hopefully this will get easier to do if deliveries become a bigger thing and people have a greater selection.
I lost 29M yesterday this way...
Damn 😕
@@lianlali ouch.
Oh man. I never knew. Thanks for the new isk profit opportunity. XP
😂😂
Wish they would update it so you could choose how to accept it. For example, a delivery request would show a 100,000m³ shipment and when you accept the request you can choose to receive one 100,000m³ box or ten 10,000m³ boxes and so on.
It does happen with smaller qty. you can see some delivery requests being 5S which is 5x100 cubic meters or one M + 1 S. That algorithm is also a bit fishy
Nice! Was hoping someone would cover this. Not much was covered by the tutorial regarding container and container size also could you cover how pirates can have you haul something also then blow you up at the gate? Which would lead to how to avoid gate camps or things you can do to reduce the risk
Good point. Added on my to do list 😁👍
I was scammed for 230m isk collateral. Dev first said they cannot reinverse and said I should train adv freight to lvl 5. I resend the ticket with 0 rating and demanded they return my isk for an obvious scamm and impossible delivery. I got it 9 days later. Till now my Magnate is sitting in the hangar and will stay there as to avoid getting scammed again!. :-) thanks for the explanation.
Some of the those cans are actually legit 😂 and people suffered a reverse scam in the process. Before the patch where they fixed the estimated market values, some trainer ships market price was actually higher than the estimated value. So if someone bought one of those, and selected interstellar delivery, he got a smaller collateral than the actual value payed for 😂 sad
One of my Corp mates was telling us how a hauler managed to steal a Ferox that was supposed to have been delivered. The guy paid a 20mil collateral fee, worth it considering what he got.
Yes. For some of these contracts, the collateral is stupid and it’s actually a legit contract which turns into a reverse scam. Mind blown
Same happens with a vexor trainer. Market value is higher than estimated value. If you create the delivery contract after you buy it, collateral is way smaller. And if someone decides to steal your can you get a collateral smaller in value than that of the actual ship.. so you just payed 7 mil for a trainer, got back 1 million and no ship
wow thanks ,now the pick up page is super filled with scammed crates!
They’re just gonna lose money from taxes. Revealing a scam is just like revealing a magic trick. Everyone tries it, but everyone else knows about it and don’t care and ignore it... the magic is gone
Off topic comment: one day Gica I hope you consider doing an episode on the use of alts. It seems like using an alt might have some ingenious elements on the surface, but the prospect of doing double the work I'm already putting into ee isn't attractive! Plus it just seems clunky and maybe even a waste of time. What are your views on alts? Cheers.
Alts are good for people who have too much free time haha. They offer some nice things like being able to scout for yourself while hauling to avoid camps.. or using the alt in a frig to draw aggro on npcs and run away, and the rest of the ppl just focus on dmg... or having an alt for manufacturing... there’s ways to benefit... but imo, people who use 7 alts to create mining fleets seems overkill
Great, since ratting, pvp and mining contents are the main menu, we also need space trucking and delivery contents for the side dish. There are not alot of content creators who cover that
Thanks for dropping by! I cover these regularly whenever I find more interesting stuff to showcase. This one was important for me in particular, because I’ve heard and seen even corp mates being scammed through this method 😁

Happen to me 2 days ago... really pissed me off.. i lost 43 Million isk on collateral....
😔 did you open the box at least? What was inside of it? I received a report that an XL container actually had some guy’s ships lol. Apparently he just wanted them moved... but alas he lost them all. At least he got the collateral but sometimes you know as collaterals get calculated by estimated value? A vexor trainer costing 5 mil has an estimated value of 1.5... so the collateral that poor chap received was actually a hole in his pocket... reverse scam 😂😂😂 FAIL... he scammed himself
You got to
You got to have adv Freight 5
@@blade405 I put a ticket in to support and they refunded me ALL my isk ! Soo if it happened to you, put a support ticket in.
Discussion aside, this is another 'game feature' to avoid. Thanks for shining a light on it Gica 👌
No need to avoid hauling. It’s good business... you just need to be careful, just like any other business 😅 there’s also traps
Didn't the latest patch make it so you can no longer accept a delivery that your current ship can't carry?
Yes it did. This video is from a while back. It definitely helped a lot of folks imo. Now it’s obsolete. But a good reminder of player inventiveness
Did they change something I read in discord today deliveries with multiple items getting sent to the same location get split up?
Yup. The algorithms are a bit better at splitting things up now. Not sure if this type of scam has been completely removed by the fix or not 😅
@@GicaForta hopefully its completely fixed, if you find out its not please can you tell us.
Will do. I’ll ask around the haulers group see what I can find
So far 10 people don't like their scam being exposed. . . ..
I figured it was a scam smh...just didn’t know how they were doing it. I’m 100 hrs or so away from adv freight lvl 5. I still have hope that there’s something valuable in there once I crack it open. Will let you know whats in there lol unfortunately I have a few.
Someone reported he found in one of these XL cans, ships. I checked ship estimated vs actual value... and to my horror, in that case, the one who made the contract actually got scammed 😂 because the market value was higher if estimated. So the dude lost his ships, and received collateral payment which was less than the actual value of the ships.. rip reverse scam 😂
So deliverys are player made? I'm confused how they work.
It’s simple. There are 2 types of deliveries. Regional which are npc and teleport your items, and interstellar which are player made, and other players need to pick them up and deliver them (space trucking)
That intro is painful everytime. You could use royalty free musak and it be less atrocious. Good content.
It’s made by me with my own hands. I also turned down the volume a lot so it’s not so atrocious 😅
@@GicaForta It's the 13-14 seconds of "nothing" that's the issue. Especially if you are on "play all" for your videos... the same thing repeatedly is unneeded. :)
Shoot for 3-5 seconds with your logo and go.
That makes sense 😁
@@GicaForta I mean if you think about it , you tap to skip the intro as soon as you launch the game so...
No worries. Thank you for reading, fly safe and CHEEEEeeers!!!
Its not really a scam... if someone accepts a delivery for 100,000 m3 and they dont even have a ship that can haul that, it's their fault. If you have the 100m isk to accept that delivery, then you should know that you have to have a large ship to deliver this.
The user actually sets the amount of cargo they can hold. They are essentially lying if they input 100k m3, so I'd say this is payback to users accepting hauling missions that they can't actually accomplish
That’s almost the exact definition of a scam 🤪 someone slightly changes an object or a process that people are accustomed to, so that people won’t realize right away it’s not the same thing. Just like me usually buying juice from you, and you to make more profit, add water to it so you can have more juice to sell and you’re not giving me the same product, but because I’m not paying attention, I get scammed with diluted juice
@@GicaForta scammers will always defend themselves. So do pirates you blind jump therefore I kill you. Lolx. Scary world but in a way its what makes eve Eve.
@@GicaForta no, I'd say thats like you as a food delivery driver accepting an order of 10,000 pizzas knowing you only drive a Honda accord. Then getting mad when you don't get a paid and being stuck with 10,000 pizzas that are worthless to you. "Welcome to Eve" is my response to those "victims"
Someone suggested these might be ships. And some might not actually be scams. This could be true. One of my corp mates however opened one said package and it was filled with poop loot. So I think we can say some of them are scam contracts 😅
Is it true this has been fixed?
This is a forever scam. It will always catch our new players who don’t have access to Omega to access expensive t8 ships.
Dammit you’re right. Yes... new players that just started and picked up hauling can still fall for this one 😣
GicaForta I’ll send some pictures to you in Discord if you like. Suggestions I made to the devs which ultimately were rejected.
Sure mate! Send them 😁 maybe we can push for a change if we point out the problems over and over again
I only play TESL and don't know anything about this game but I'm watching this bc I love drama about scamming
Haha. Thanks for watching. Scamming is a normal thing in this game 😂
Wonder why they don't fix these things...
Well, that’s because scamming is something legit in this game. But indeed the broken estimated prices are not ok. I sent the devs a heads up more than once. Probably there’s something with higher priority that needs fixing
Each debris is 0.01m3. You would need 5mil+ debris to be over 50km3. Where you gonna get 5mil debris?
It was just an example of an item having estimated market value 5 times higher than the actual market cost. You can pull this scam off with worthless loot. Items (guns, launchers etc) occupy a lot more space, and there’s plenty with a broken estimated market value
@@GicaForta I suppose you could theoretically buy them too eh? How is one to know what the collateral would be though? Is there a formula like X% of total estimated value?
Don’t know 😢 I don’t have access to the algorithm behind it. But we know for sure the collateral is tied to one of these, depending on “when” the contract is created:
1. The actual price of the item if you create the delivery request right when you buy it from the market
2. The estimated fake value if you already own the item and you create the delivery from your assets
Just add a few cheap ships, they are heavy
Industrial Imicus with 4 lvls of Freight, Cant touch me folks! UPS Driver HONKHONK
Can you get 100,000 cubic meters on that imicus? 😂
How to you get 50k of loot lol. I have over 1bil in my hanger at 25k in weight
You’d be amazed people who just farm non stop daily how much crap they can gather 😂😂
I have 47k cubic meters... but I do nullsec anomalies. Large modules occupy more space. Also some of the loot I had 2 weeks ago I gave it to one of my corp mate to reprocess and get materials for ship building
