    ***HOW DO I PAY MY BILLS IN CASH??***
    Probably my most asked question on this video, so I figured I'd pin the answer! This video is a few months old, but in the past I would take the money for my bills out of the bank so I could keep it "safe" from myself and my awful habit of swiping my debit card without thinking. Then, a day or two prior to when the bill was due, I'd re-deposit the money into the bank. Definitely not the most practical method, but it worked for me for years! All of my bills are kept in a Capital One 360 account now, and if you want an in-detail video about this, check out my video titled "Changing how I do Cash Envelopes" 😊
    Thanks for watching!

      Don you end up affecting your taxes or something? It’s like the bank think you’re earning double the same money if you withdraw and deposit the same money.

      My cousin took the save Ramsey course at church, she told my husband and I to take it and my husband was hesitant....2 years or so later my husband hears about this from a guy he met at work and now were trying to find a church to take the course...if you get the chance to take it Take it it's very helpful I've heard and obviously this girl is proof..alot of people dont have a single dollar to fall on in case of emergency...and that's truly sad in a country like this..of course everyone's income is different

She has now passed down the envelope system to me and my sister and I couldn’t imagine doing my bills any other way. Everything I spend money on has an envelope and it makes it so effortless when it comes time to pay for something! It’s cool to see someone else doing it as well! I’ve already got my budget ready for the new year. Currently saving for a new phone & am a few hundred away from what I need. Goal next year is to just put more money away. How did you get it so that you could set aside half of the bill each paycheck and then at the end of the month be able to pay from the 2 times you put money in. I hope that made since.

    okay, so i'm curious... are you paying your bills in cash?? or putting that money back in the bank? or what?? 🤔🤔 haha, i'm watching and am sooooo confused as i thought the cash envelope system was for the extras, like spending, gas, groceries, hair cuts, etc - but then i'm hearing insurance, cell phone, etc... 🙀🙀

    • @alyssamakeseverything
      @alyssamakeseverything  6 років тому +358

      Great question! It can be confusing, I know my method is strange and kind of backwards to some. But I am a serial swiper, I'm very bad at using my debit card and not thinking about purchases, and next thing I know I have no money left for my bills that are due! So for me, taking things out in cash, putting them somewhere safe such as in an envelope, is easier for me. That way, if I wanted to spend that money I'd have to consciously go into that envelope and take out the cash, which obviously I'd never do. But yes, I go and put that money back into my account when it is time for the bill to be paid. In the future maybe I'll have two checking accounts set up? One strictly just for bills, no actual debit card attached to it. We'll see! But my method won't make sense or work for everyone.

      Buying packaged foods and not utilizing sales raise up the prices probably of your groceries if you do so. Produce is mostly cheap and fruit. The meat is the most expensive but I buy when I see a good sale and freeze the extras

    • @TurtleTymeLol
      @TurtleTymeLol 6 років тому +2

      That’s how I do it. I get paid weekly and will round out my bills so the first week I pay my phone, I put about 150 in the bank, payments like 137 or something close. And then the rest of the money I separate for gas food and other things. I don’t pull my card out for anything anymore.

    • @owleyes71
      @owleyes71 6 років тому +4

      I have 2 checking accounts, withdrawing and re-depositing cash just seems like way too much effort. I have a main account that gets the direct deposit, and I transfer over however much I need to the other checking account that is called Bills. All the Autopays come out of THAT checking account. Anything that's left in the other checking account is for things like groceries, gas, etc. I also transfer over automatically a certain amount into my savings. Works pretty well.
