***HOW DO I PAY MY BILLS IN CASH??*** Probably my most asked question on this video, so I figured I'd pin the answer! This video is a few months old, but in the past I would take the money for my bills out of the bank so I could keep it "safe" from myself and my awful habit of swiping my debit card without thinking. Then, a day or two prior to when the bill was due, I'd re-deposit the money into the bank. Definitely not the most practical method, but it worked for me for years! All of my bills are kept in a Capital One 360 account now, and if you want an in-detail video about this, check out my video titled "Changing how I do Cash Envelopes" 😊 Thanks for watching!
Don you end up affecting your taxes or something? It’s like the bank think you’re earning double the same money if you withdraw and deposit the same money.
@@Imkpopmom taxes are not based on what is put into a bank account. It's based on your you paycheck. So I could withdrawal and deposite the same $500 everyday and it wouldn't change my tax bracket.
I've never heard of this system in my life. I'm a really impulsive spender. I'm 26, with no savings, and this gave me a little hope to hopefully be able to survive paycheck to paycheck.
I've been using this system since I was 16. I live in a travel trailer-paid for in my name. My truck-paid off in my name. It's a great system. Makes you really think lmao.
My cousin took the save Ramsey course at church, she told my husband and I to take it and my husband was hesitant....2 years or so later my husband hears about this from a guy he met at work and now were trying to find a church to take the course...if you get the chance to take it Take it it's very helpful I've heard and obviously this girl is proof..alot of people dont have a single dollar to fall on in case of emergency...and that's truly sad in a country like this..of course everyone's income is different
isabby1784 you don’t have to have a church to do it!! Go on line and look up his lessons my parents bought their teen lesson books and videos for me my brother and his girlfriend a couple years ago and we did the teen course
I absolutely love how you broke this down. It makes so much sense. I personally hate going to the bank to either put money in or take out. But I can definitely see why you would do this.
I wish there was a way of doing this without taking anything out of the bank! I mean, it’s 2018, why can’t we have virtual envelopes? 😅 it does make so much sense though.
My bank that get my direct deposit is located in my grocery store so when i get paid i pull out what i need to for the cash envelopes and get my grocery shopping for the week done.
Yes, watching from Europe, if you'd get that monthly it would be awesome. Weekly would be amaaaazing. But controlling your budget certainly helps to get the most out of it
Lol its not amazing. My paycheck is around the same as hers.. However, rent is like $1,800+ a month for a very small one bedroom apartment where I live. The higher the wages, the higher the cost of living is.

I love that you are saving for school and a new laptop. That is awesome!!! I have recently really gotten into using cash envelopes as well... and every time I go to the bank they ask me about it... I get paid once a month so I go after I get paid and take out around $800... in crazy bills. It’s funny.
Thank you! :) Cash envelopes really are the best! LOL people really are curious about what we do! I basically take out my ENTIRE paycheck every 2 weeks and I get asked if I'm making a big purchase or something, and then I have to explain the cash envelopes thing. I like talking about it so I don't mind too much, but it's definitely a quick way to become "that girl" at the bank!
Iulia Cordus usually if you're taking money out of the bank, you can get it in 20's or 100's... getting your money in as few bills as possible. crazy money is asking to split the money you're taking out in different bills, say you want 8 1's and 3 50's or 11 10's, it's crazy because there's a big split up with money... i didn't explain that well but i hope you understand it a bit more
Wow I just found your channel and I’m so inspired. I did a method of my own but I always got confused and stuck and I end up spending more than I gave myself. But when I found your channel I’ve never been happier with my money!

I love this! I’m 54 years old and a self proclaimed money manager, lol. I used to work at at bank and really appreciate the way your denominations are together. I’d add having all the bills facing the same way, in my OCD world! Lol
Wow. You go girl. That cannot be easy. You're very responsible. #learning. And I'm 30 years old with 7 kids. God bless you, you will live a prosperous life
I love how you've mastered this system. I have a few questions I hope you can answer, which envelopes do you put in your safe and wallet? How do you ask for your bills at the bank? Finally, what are the categories you have for your envelopes? Thanks for this video!
This is my first video I’m watching your technique for saving is very smart I feel when we keep our pay on our debit card I can speak on my self I tend to swipe a lot and get distracted about the bigger picture but removing and separating it is a wonderful idea make you keep track and stay focus love your ideas never to old to learn I’m 40 and never done this before thanks for sharing I really did learn from your video 😊
I have a system almost similar to this but I use one envelope & sticky tabs to divide my cash. Really helps a lot to know your ready for the budget you need well in advance. I’ve already got my budget ready for the new year. Currently saving for a new phone & am a few hundred away from what I need. Goal next year is to just put more money away. I’ve been using this system for 2 years now & has made a more stress free life knowing I’m ready for my budget when it’s due. Thanks for sharing your system.
I’d LOVE to know what community college you go to that’s only $300 for 6 credits and $100 for books. Mine was $1200 for 4 credits and $500 in books. Per semester!!!
I would LOVE to see how you made those envelopes!! That’s such a neat idea! This could help me in my hectic life and I could really see where my money goes monthly!
I use this system too! I am able to make a lot of things work because of this, whereas I wasn’t able to before using just cards for everything. You are really able to keep track of it more doing this.
Could watch videos like this all the time! So interesting! Thanks for sharing how you use your cash envelope system! We all have different bills and expenses so the amounts are fun to hear about! We also do this each month and have a video on it! We are excited to see our community and channel grow in 2019! Thankful others value budgeting and reap such great benefits from it too! Great job, Alyssa!
Oh my gosh I love your videos 👍🏻 I’ve been sharing your videos with my coworkers and telling them about it 😊 I’ve also been thinking about doing the same thing with my own budget 😊 although I’d like to think I had a good budgeting system, until I seen your videos and I was like 😱 I need to try this 👌🏻
I watched another video of yours when you made the envelopes...I made my own!! Thank you! I love, love, love this idea! I don't know how I will start paying bills with cash as I do most of it online but I decided that I would just start by making the envelopes.
I really needed to see this! Thank God UA-cam recommend me this video. I’m starting my new part time job while also going to school. This video was really helpful. Thank you so much!!
I love your envelopes, and how your system works, but girl, I wanted to turn all those bills the same way 😂😂 I use to work in the back office of Publix, and that was my per peve. My husband laughs at me about it, but it literally makes me nervous lol. Anyway, thank you for sharing and I can't wait to buy some of those envelopes 😊😊
Omg I love this method. I think it would work especially great for teens who still live at home and don’t have to worry about bills. I think it’s a great way for them to manage their money and split it up into categories
Oh man. I need to do this. We’ve learned about in general financial literacy but actually seeing you do it makes it feel much more attainable for me. I have a problem with spending my money online or through my debit card when I really need to be saving it/budgeting for various things. I’m really glad I stumbled upon this video!
I am SUPER happy I found this video, I don't have a lot of responsibilities but my dad just started having me pay Car insurance and my phone bill, so I need a good way to separate my money and give myself a little bit more control on how to budget.
I recently lost my job and I wish I would have budgeted before I did so I was able to still pay for things I needed with my savings. This is going to really help me when I get a new job.
I’m living paycheck to pay check and really want to have this system. But as soon as I get my paycheck I have to pay the full bills with all my money. How did you get it so that you could set aside half of the bill each paycheck and then at the end of the month be able to pay from the 2 times you put money in. I hope that made since.
So happy this came up in my recommendations! This makes me excited to save too! You are absolutely organized and seem very genuine! You earned a new subscriber💕
Hey there! I’m about to be a high school junior and I’ve only recently realized that finances are an important thing I’ll have to worry about soon now that I’m slowly growing independent. I know nothing about money and banks and stuff which kind is kind of scary, but your videos are very calming to watch. Hopefully I’ll be as good at managing money as you are! :)
I love this! I do the same system, but instead I use a little accordion folder from Wal-Mart. But if you do start selling these cute envelopes on etsy I'd definitely be interested in purchasing!!
okay, so i'm curious... are you paying your bills in cash?? or putting that money back in the bank? or what?? 🤔🤔 haha, i'm watching and am sooooo confused as i thought the cash envelope system was for the extras, like spending, gas, groceries, hair cuts, etc - but then i'm hearing insurance, cell phone, etc... 🙀🙀
Great question! It can be confusing, I know my method is strange and kind of backwards to some. But I am a serial swiper, I'm very bad at using my debit card and not thinking about purchases, and next thing I know I have no money left for my bills that are due! So for me, taking things out in cash, putting them somewhere safe such as in an envelope, is easier for me. That way, if I wanted to spend that money I'd have to consciously go into that envelope and take out the cash, which obviously I'd never do. But yes, I go and put that money back into my account when it is time for the bill to be paid. In the future maybe I'll have two checking accounts set up? One strictly just for bills, no actual debit card attached to it. We'll see! But my method won't make sense or work for everyone.
Funny, I was just wondering the same thing. I understand about being a serial swiper. This is why I'm watching cash envelope videos now. I swipe my card extremely too much.
I will be buying your money envelopes!!! When you were stuffing your envelopes I literally said to myself that I needed those in my life! Thank you!!! Can't wait!! 💰💌.
I've talked about this before but I'm fortunate enough to be living at home while I'm going to school and working full time, so I can eat the food that is in this house. That's the only way I'm able to make that amount work.
Buying packaged foods and not utilizing sales raise up the prices probably of your groceries if you do so. Produce is mostly cheap and fruit. The meat is the most expensive but I buy when I see a good sale and freeze the extras
If the bills come out of your checking account do you just re-deposit the cash? All of our bills are set up online so should I just do cash envelopes for certain savings and things like gas, grocery, spending?
That’s how I do it. I get paid weekly and will round out my bills so the first week I pay my phone, I put about 150 in the bank, payments like 137 or something close. And then the rest of the money I separate for gas food and other things. I don’t pull my card out for anything anymore.
I have 2 checking accounts, withdrawing and re-depositing cash just seems like way too much effort. I have a main account that gets the direct deposit, and I transfer over however much I need to the other checking account that is called Bills. All the Autopays come out of THAT checking account. Anything that's left in the other checking account is for things like groceries, gas, etc. I also transfer over automatically a certain amount into my savings. Works pretty well.
This is very informative and I have been trying to think of a way to keep track of everything and how I will keep them safe from myself because my card always gets used more than it should. I will definitely try and figure out a way to have the envelops laminated.

I love this! I’m 54 years old and a self proclaimed money manager, lol. I used to work at at bank and really appreciate the way your denominations are together. I’d add having all the bills facing the same way, in my OCD world! Lol
This is asmr
love the envelopes. I've seen boring white envelopes used but this is so much better.
Dave Ramsey would be so proud, i love this!
I like this idea. I’m such a visual person and this helps me plan and see where my money is going!!!
I agree
I have a system almost similar to this but I use one envelope & sticky tabs to divide my cash. Really helps a lot to know your ready for the budget you need well in advance. I’ve already got my budget ready for the new year. Currently saving for a new phone & am a few hundred away from what I need. Goal next year is to just put more money away. I’ve been using this system for 2 years now & has made a more stress free life knowing I’m ready for my budget when it’s due. Thanks for sharing your system.
This is how my mom taught me growing up👍🏽 budgeting.
I didn't even think of this system, this speaks to me on a whole different level! Thank you!
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!!
I’d LOVE to know what community college you go to that’s only $300 for 6 credits and $100 for books.
Mine was $1200 for 4 credits and $500 in books. Per semester!!!
Lindsay Marie I wanna know too coz mine wasn’t that cheap either
Y’all don’t get fafsa ??
Wow this was satisfying to me. It’s so smart and organized I’m definitely going to do this when I get older and have a job.
You are soo so so organized 😁It's amazing
I would LOVE to see how you made those envelopes!! That’s such a neat idea! This could help me in my hectic life and I could really see where my money goes monthly!
This is awesome! You will be doing great 10 years from now. You've inspired me 💕
I use this system too! I am able to make a lot of things work because of this, whereas I wasn’t able to before using just cards for everything. You are really able to keep track of it more doing this.
I don’t know how I found this video but I’m obsessed 😍 Definitely subscribing and watching your other vids!!!
I'm so so glad! Thanks for watching!
I don't know how I will start paying bills with cash as I do most of it online but I decided that I would just start by making the envelopes.
that moment you want & need to do this, but you live in an area where you're more likely to get robbed 😂
She has a safe hehe
Alot of people in that situation would open checking accounts. Just make sure there isn't any monthly service fees or at least low fees.
Exactly lol

I really needed to see this! Thank God UA-cam recommend me this video. I’m starting my new part time job while also going to school. This video was really helpful. Thank you so much!!
So glad you found it!
Great video, this is a huge help for me visually seeing as how I recently ordered Dave Ramsey's setup. His looks a bit overwhelming, haha. Thanks!
I'm so glad it helps!
I was drooling at the amount of organization in this video
I have 2 separate bank accounts - one for my college bills + rent, and the other for my “extra”. It helps me sooo muchn
This is seriously amazing and I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me with how creative you got with your budgeting!
I love your videos! I will say the former retail employee in me was cringing with the cash going so many different directions. It's a curse...lol!
Oh man. I need to do this. We’ve learned about in general financial literacy but actually seeing you do it makes it feel much more attainable for me. I have a problem with spending my money online or through my debit card when I really need to be saving it/budgeting for various things. I’m really glad I stumbled upon this video!
How do you know how much to put in the “Fun” envelopes?( shopping, movies, birthdays, trips etc..)
I am SUPER happy I found this video, I don't have a lot of responsibilities but my dad just started having me pay Car insurance and my phone bill, so I need a good way to separate my money and give myself a little bit more control on how to budget.
This is a great video, thank you for sharing it with us. I want to get some of your envelopes when they come up for sale.
Thank you! I will make some soon for sure :)
This was great ! So organized and motivating
I really love this idea, but id be so scared of something happening, like a house fire, or robbed, or anything like that!
I deeply admire you for being able to stack cash and put it back not all facing the same wat
Love your envelopes! Let me know when you start selling them and I’ll include them in a video!
This is so satisfying to watch. I always have separated my money for different savings! Glad to know I’m not the only one😊
wish i had that much self-control 😂
My grandmother has done this system for years. It works wonderful
I recently lost my job and I wish I would have budgeted before I did so I was able to still pay for things I needed with my savings. This is going to really help me when I get a new job.
It’s like 4am here and i just discovered this... THIS IS GENIUS. I’m definitely doing this.
I’m living paycheck to pay check and really want to have this system. But as soon as I get my paycheck I have to pay the full bills with all my money. How did you get it so that you could set aside half of the bill each paycheck and then at the end of the month be able to pay from the 2 times you put money in. I hope that made since.
i’m so satisfied by how organized this is
Your budget planner looks like what I want who makes it and where did you get it
It is a "Happy Planner" with a 6 month extension pack added. There is a separate video on my channel all about my budget planner!
Same exact comment I would of wrote
Looks like a happy planner u can get them anywhere..michaels staples
I’m Australian and I just want to say this video made me love our money 💵
I would love to know where you got your budget journal I start school next month and I need this in my life
I can already imagine how stress free you are by doing this, it so smart
I think it's hard as alot of bills are direct debit
So happy this came up in my recommendations! This makes me excited to save too! You are absolutely organized and seem very genuine! You earned a new subscriber💕
Wow this just made me feel so unorganized. Deff subscribing so I can get my life together like this
I watched this video and all I thought about was Kylie Jenner being a billionaire at 21
Cris Lucas same
Its easy when shits handed to you. gotta have money to make money
Don’t worry lol she came from money and didn’t have to start from the bottom like most people. Just keep grindin 💪🏾💪🏾
Your an amazing responsible young lady, good job, thank you for sharing
Cash budgeting is the best way!
I love this! I do the same system, but instead I use a little accordion folder from Wal-Mart. But if you do start selling these cute envelopes on etsy I'd definitely be interested in purchasing!!
Love your whole setup!😊
Thank you so much!
My mother back home in Somalia used to do that 👏🏾 it’s a great way of saving and I will definitely try
okay, so i'm curious... are you paying your bills in cash?? or putting that money back in the bank?
This is exactly what I was thinking and wondering the same thing
Hopefully I cleared it up for you a bit, if you need any further clarification just let me know 😊
I was wondering the same thanks for the q an a.
💰💌.
How can you spend 40usd in groceries.... I spend 50 every week!!
I've talked about this before but I'm fortunate enough to be living at home while I'm going to school and working full time, so I can eat the food that is in this house. That's the only way I'm able to make that amount work.
Sk Scarlet great question
Buying packaged foods and not utilizing sales raise up the prices probably of your groceries if you do so. Produce is mostly cheap and fruit. The meat is the most expensive but I buy when I see a good sale and freeze the extras
I spend 30 every other week
99 cent store buying what you really need making your dollar stretch
Omg I do this same thing !!! I didn’t know other people did this . My friends call me crazy but I don’t overspend using this method !
If the bills come out of your checking account do you just re-deposit the cash? All of our bills are set up online so should I just do cash envelopes for certain savings and things like gas, grocery, spending?
Courtney Bauman I was thinking the same
I would just do seperate accounts.
