Meet Jimnothy, our Gen 3 Suzuki Jimny.
Jimnothy was built for adventure and we’ve promised to take him all over Southern Africa so that we can experience all the wonders of the natural world and share them with as many people as possible.
This adventure takes place in the Karoo National Park, situated in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
The Karoo is a wonderfully unique landscape, made up of steep topographical gradients and different altitudes. The diversity of this complex environment allows a huge variety of wildlife to thrive in this seemingly arid landscape.
The park offers 120km of scenic self-drives and the award-winning Karoo Rest Camp offers both Chalet Accommodation and Camping.

Random question guys, why do you take the normal tent if you have the rooftop tent? Is it just a place to keep your stuff while you drive around?

Hi Paul! Yes, that's exactly right. The Jimny is pretty fully loaded when we travel, which makes him quite heavy so we prefer unpacking our stuff at the campsite and only keeping essentials in the car for when we do our game drives. :)

    Great Video,
However the information about the tire presure on your video is incorrect., 1.5 bar for the jimny is way to hard for offroading. You should be going down to 0.8 bar For rocky and sandy stuff or 1.0 for long gravel roads.
you should be driving on 1.6bar at the front and 1.8 bar at the back with the tires you have with the load you are carrying.. If you open your driver side door you will see the recommended tire pressures.

Thanks! We were meaning for most 4x4’s as an all round recommendation, rather than the Jimny. We ran 1.2, didn’t put them all the way down as we needed a more of all round tyre pressure for the varied terrain, and as we were in the national park, we couldn’t get out unless at a picnic spot. Thanks for the Jimny pressure tips! We are still getting the hang of it 😊

I stayed there for one night when I was a teenager and the beauty of the landscape and stars just blew my mind! I still remember doing the fossil trail around sunset and the stars started coming out and those white chalets were lit up in orange sunset light and the blue shadows of those koppies 🤩 thank you for the wonderful video and the epic soundtrack!
