- Footage of the Presidential helicopter convoy arriving in New York City at the Financial district Heliport.
First 2 Chinook (or Sea Knight) helicopters arrive with security and personnel, followed by 2 Marine One's (the real one and a decoy) landing. The President then heads into the Presidential Limo (Cadillac One) and the motorcade heads up the FDR Drive.
Fascinating sight!
(Since I had to use high zoom there is some shaking thruout the clip, sorry)

He wasn't that close as you can notice the camera so unstable. That happens when zooming at very very long distances.

For those of you complaining about the shaking he probably zoomed in quite a bit so even little shakes seem like big ones..
This is pretty spectacular to see for sure. Gotta be impressed with the Office of the Presidency of the United States.
The amount of security for the president is amazing. And it's almost seamless for him. He just makes a call saying when and where he wants to be somewhere and the Secret Service does the rest.
you gotta realize tho, i bet there was 5+ counter snipers in locations you didnt see. they would have eliminated the threat before he looked down the sights of a scope

It could be the Secret Service who's taking pictures.
Deploying snipers at critical points is a regular practice by the Secret Service.

@@SerhanOgan No I saw in a few videos where Secret Service was interviewed and since the last assassination they have upped their game. The President is rarely in open air in the public for an extended period of time without a large, secure perimeter around the whole area. They probably had snipers watching everything. It was probably a rooftop they'd covered. But if they hadn't I'm sure a really good sniper could've taken him or the helicopter out with an RPG.

I was riding my bike across the Brooklyn Bridget that morning. It was not cool but very loud. The police stopped all traffic on the bridge until the motorcade passed beneath it. When he did, everyone on the pedestrian part of the bridge was cheering. It was cool and very memorable.

If you watch the video really closely, the President was actually on the 3rd helicopter, not the 4th one like they wanted people to think....

How did you even know where the Helicopters are coming from...? And how were you even get a CLEAR FREAKING SHOT! Of that angle? I bet they wouldn't even allow you. Or even, you got your way to an easy advantage point that would allow a Sniper to shoot the President or even an RPG to shoot down them Choppers. Well I'd say, C.A.T (Counter Assault Team) or S.A.T (Sniper Assault Team) Were watching you while you were recording it. If you even take out something Dangerous they will freaking shoot you out. Just sayin, :)
To fire a shot that far would be extremely difficult. Wind speed, direction and loss of velocity would play a major factor.

Can you imagine the feeling? Hundreds of men and women carefully synchronizing helicopters, boats, firetrucks, snipers, blockades... all for your security. I'd feel beyond confident stepping out of that helicopter in a suit and tie -- ready to run the world.

Judging from where the choppers appear in the distance (i.e. from southeast), I believe they come from JFK Airport. I know this is kind of a no-brainer, but my question is: Wouldn't it be more time saving, if the president flew directly from Washington to New York in his helicopter? Distance too far?

But looking on the president's car i can see a smoke on the exhaust,was it because of the weather or something?
Those aren't Chinooks. Those are VH-46 Sea Knights. The USMC doesn't fly the CH-47 Chinook. The easiest outward recognition is the -46 has tricycle landing gear and its engines are inside the aft pylon. The Army's CH/MH-47 Chinook has quadcycle landing gear, and its engines outside the aft pylon.
I hope these guys were part of the security force, otherwise the Secret Service allowed a couple of guys to get within easy rifle range of the whole operation. A rocket/missile really couldn't miss at the range these guys were at.
Fun fact: Marine One is just a call sign so Secret Service could know where the President is at all times. The same goes for Air Force One, Navy One, Army One, Coast Guard One, and The Beast. The Vice President gets the same call signs, but instead of One, the VP gets a number Two since the VP is second in command. "You learn something new every day".
There has never been a Coast Guard One. And, there’s only been a Navy One, once.

Do these marine helicopters always fly ahead of the Presidents visits from D.C. or are they stored on board the military transport planes and flown ahead of his visits in the U.S.A.

Im pretty sure its the Gotham Heliport, which is the busiest and most well known heliport in New York right in downtown Manhattan.
