    Jason great vid. I enjoyed the whole wd45 restoration. Great job. I just started dismantling my 55 wd45 and I’m glad I got your videos as guidance along with the AC manuals. Your videos really are my motivation to get done!!!

    Always wondered what drives the hydraulic pump on a WD tractor. Looks to be a real good simple setup.

    I needed this video. Bought a loader fo my WD. Put it on. Put the lever in the raise position. Went all the way up. Won't lower. Think I spotted a couple possable causes as you disassembled the unit. Thanks

      The valve has orings in it. One of them may have blown out, causing the hydraulic system to remain pressurized

    It all looks real familiar. Ran a WD from the early 60’s till 97. Had 2 for a while. Rams on the loader leaked bad which was ok. Lived in WI. That way when winter came I would fill it up with 10W oil so it would work in the extreme cold. Back in IL now. There is one in the shed that my Grandpa had that needs an extreme makeover. Don’t know if I want to stick the $ into it.Needs all new tires and back rims are all rusted out from chloride. I enjoy watching the process again. Have fun.

    • @sparksfireandbalingwire8467
      @sparksfireandbalingwire8467  Рік тому

      That could be a couple things. Usually worn linkage not shifting the valve back far enough for it to go back down, or the valve leaking internally keeping pressure on the system.

    Laughed at the 3 or 4 handed job 😂...we’ve all been there more than we care to say, thank God for bench vices. Really cool in depth look at this pump and the rebuild. I need to go grab me a kit of o rings..never know when they will be handy! The ‘ol 1-1/8” bit the dust on ya, I’m sure you got good use out of it, that just gives you another excuse to run to harbor freight with the 20% special and grab ya a replacement. Remember just in and out though Jason, it’s too easy to spend $100 plus without realizing it 🤣...I just went Thursday and had buyers remorse already while swiping my debit card! Good video brother!

    Good day Interesting video. Back in middle 60's we had WD with loader. WQe traded at ferguson with davis loader for allis trip bucket, stupid mistake. Anyways when loader couldn't lift, got piss off, sped tractor up for more pressure, wrong thing, it would kick out. Neighbor said slow tractor down more pressure? Also traction control, they said you have something connected to snap coupler, now I know. Interesting video. Any idea what volume pump put out? Also pressure? So that would have been a piston pump? Thanks good job

    • @sparksfireandbalingwire8467
      @sparksfireandbalingwire8467  4 роки тому

      Yes, it's a piston pump. Don't know offhand what the flow rate or pressure is. This tractor used to have a loader with a trip bucket on it, went to scrap iron years ago. Thanks for the view!

    I need to find a place to find the rebuild parts to fix my hydraulic valve like you did I have a 1954 WD45 and that valve leaks too.. I was hoping someone made a rebuild kit for it with all the o-rings and seals bit I have not found one yet.. Please let me know where you find that out side seal that you still need to replace..
    Thank you for your videos they are great and I have learned a lot

    • @sparksfireandbalingwire8467
      @sparksfireandbalingwire8467  4 роки тому +1

      The one I need is felt. It is more to keep dirt out than oil in. I found some felt stock on line so I will probably use my gasket making kit to cut my own. I don't know your skill or comfort level, but if you can make gaskets and have an o ring kit you could do it yourself fairly easily. Just take your time and make sure everything is CLEAN!! If you don't want to tackle it yourself a hydraulic repair shop should be able to handle it for you. Also, keep in mind all hydraulic systems, especially these older ones, need to "weep" a little by design to keep the seals lubricated.

    Good morning . WHAT HAVE I DONE ? Just , bought a AC 45 with front loader. Pulled hyd dip stick read the words fill with cylinders fully extended . I guess that was meant for the rear lift only . I extended All cylinders not knowing this and while lowering fluid poured from under tractor. Is there a seal I could have blown?

    • @sparksfireandbalingwire8467
      @sparksfireandbalingwire8467  3 роки тому

      Can you tell where the oil came out? If it just vented out, you should just be able to clean it up and be fine.

    • @waltthon505
      @waltthon505 3 роки тому

      Couldn't find where it came from . Didn't want to recreate the problem not knowing what other damage I could do. It seems ok if I don't over fill but loader will only lift part way. Can I just ad a bigger external reservoir tied into the return to compensate for the oil required for the loader cylinders?

    That hydrologic pump was so interesting. I really liked how you showed the camshaft and how it would run the valves on the pump. Also the way that the housing acts as a reservoir to hold hydrologic fluid is all in all pretty brilliant. Seeing everything taken apart and broken down I’m starting to see a theme here at how well built everything is and was built to last. Looking forward to seeing it painted👍😀
    Also I’ve never heard of Nourse Oil co. before, but the story behind it is pretty cool, and the fact that it hasn’t been opened who knows maybe it’s worth something?🤷🏼‍♂️
