As I walked up to the "drivers only" scale house door at the Okalhoma state line, I was welcomed with a sign that said "pull hard" in six diffrent languages and maybe braille but I wasn't feeling it.
We need to do a pause on bringing in immigrants into the trucking industry. We need companies to hire American drivers first. Immigrants are hauling the cheap freight.
A PAUSE?? A FUCKING PAUSE???? We need an absolute BAN on ALL foreigners in Commercial Trucking!! No one that isn’t a naturalized or LEGAL CITIZEN (no hb1 visa bullshit, or green card or immigrant waivers etc.!!!) ONLY LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS IN AMERICAN TRUCKING. Period.
I second that. I was with CFI before the Heartland acquisition for 5 years. Was doing really good and liked the company. 30yr driver BTW. When they took over i lost money and had to leave 6 days before my 6 yr anniversary.
@@johntarbell3261 I worked at CFI but left before they sold out to HE, but I also worked at Smith right after they bought them and it was just a steady downhill the freight started getting lighter and lighter unless i wanted to do walmart which i hated, so I left there too so i get it.
Good Day, I can speak to this, I started in 96’, just for some proper perspective. I wouldn’t use the word “efficiency”, I would use “greed.” I agree with what you’re saying and this has always been an issue along with the drivers pay. This industry is its own worst enemy when it comes to recruiting and retention, the point of your video is why trucking is what it is. Stay safe

I’ll bet if I went back to the press release announcing these purchases, they likely said that the acquisitions would be accretive to earnings, meaning that no matter the cost, it would be upside. Also, that debt calculation doesn’t equity they gave away.

@@timtravels116 they just issued a long winded email to all employees of last quarter update and all terminals that will be renovated.They are surviving better than most trucking companies out here.already paid off half of the debt from the purchase of Smith Transport and CFI . Freight recession out here no company out here is being fully utilizing there equipment.Also 1000 Stoughton trailers on order.The churn at Smith Transport is all the job hoppers thinking the grass is greener elce where.Been here 18 yrs plan on retiring here.

i worked for D and D. CFI bought us Heartland bought CFI. I m an IC. I left because my pay was cut in half. No need to Reset here. You can Recap for months. When Heartland bought us my revenue was cut in half. Heartland hates owner operators.
Won't be long till heartland completely takes over CFI I already see CFI red trucks that have now the heartland logo on the door...... remember what they did to Gordon transportation

I was just there and they wanted me to do 3weeks with a trainer as well as 25,000miles with a c-team and then test out by doing a driving/backing/pretrip test before I could get a truck.
Bring up the topic of possible layoffs at CFI. I'm attaching a clip of a video where see if I held a driver responsible for this when you had a officer trying to pass him on the shoulder of the road. Looks to me as cop was hauling ass and he lost control in that tight spot.i got my CDL with cfi and did my year otr and loved it no complains but these company's can get sketchy at times you just never know.sometimes I think there one of the oldest and still biggest otr dryvan company's still out there now been around for years since when they were Conway back then.they train and hire lots of new people.terry can correct me if any of my details are wrong or I missed anything.i like there training because you drive while trainer is in passenger seat.and you both sleep at night

One fact in that article was that Heartland Express has also cut their debt by half. Prior to these acquisitions they were debt free.
