    I think it would be cool to reveal that these stories were told to Clauida by Aaravos during the two years she spent working on the resurrection spell. Claudia mentioned how in Lost Child, Aaravos was her only companion during that time, at least until she met Terry. Both of these stories open with the line, “Let me tell you a story”. Imagine her staying up late by campfire, unable to sleep due to her recent trauma, so Aaravos offers to tell her these tales.

      I'm 100% on board with this. When she makes her case to Soren in season 4, she uses both "starving and wretched" as key words. I bet those are things Aaravos told her.
      Aaravos is also versatile in how he manipulates. For Viren he pretended to be a sort of allied subordinate but for Claudia, it makes sense that he would take on a more parental figure or a guide/teacher.

      @@AngelesLunamoth Aaravos trying to position himself as a father figure could be even more chilling going into season 6 if Viren is actually dead. What if he tells her that Viren had to opportunity to save himself, but refused. This could cause her to think that Viren has now abandoned her too by not saving himself when he had the chance. Aaravos could then tell Clauida that he would never abandon her so long as she keeps her promise to free him. Maybe he even convinced her that sooner or later, Terry is going to leave, which leads into the scene we see in the teaser.

    One thing we should consider when it comes to Aaravos’ motivations for wanting revenge against the other star elf’s is to look at the inspirations for his character. In the season 4 QnA, the creators mentioned that the biggest influence for his character are Prometheus and Lucifer Morningstar. Both of their stories are feature rebellious beings who defied their elders and gifted humanity with knowledge and free will. But while Lucifer is seen as corruptive being who takes joy in creating suffering, Prometheus is portrayed as a more benevolent figure who was punished by the arrogant gods for wanting to uplift humanity. Basically, the story changes depending on who’s telling it.
    We see that play out in season 4 when Soren and Claudia are arguing over Aaravos. Claudia firmly believes that Aaravos sought to help humanity by gifting them with magic after the other elves and dragons turned their backs on them. Soren, on the other hand, believes that Aaravos just wants to see the world burn and that magic has brought humanity nothing but pain and suffering. We’re not supposed to know whether Aaravos motives were good or not, and we won’t get our answer until season six releases. Although the creators and the story Patience have confirmed that Aaravos centuries of imprisonment have made him eager for revenge not just against the other startouched elves, but all of Xadia.

    It's clear that the star touch elves are basically aliens, (higher beings). When Aaravos crashed on this alternative Earth it was like an asteroid impact. Sending dust in the air (endless nights) & rising seas.

    Always nice to find a TDP fan who enjoys analyzing and theorizing! I feel like there are too few of us left after critiquing each season became the norm.
    I think Aaravos created the Sea of the Castout, since he was cast out of the heavens, and that created a crater. It would make sense that the sea named after that act was the same one with the statue of Aaravos and the other startouch elf, and that the dragons would imprison him there to humble him.
    But the spinning sea DOES resemble those ripples...I just figured it indicated that the ocean nexus was there.

    Aaravos actually fell at the Sea of the Castout, not the Spinning Sea. It is called the Sea of the Castout because it is the place where Aaravos fell when he was cast out. The city of Elarion is right next to the Sea of the Castout and it is where the humans mentioned in Ripples and Patience lived. Also, the statues of Aaravos and the Mericul One probably depicts either Aaravos getting cast out of heaven or the Merciful One helping Aaravos. The sea being named the Sea of the Castout, the city of Elarion being right next to it, and the statues of Aaravos and the Merciful One all serve as definitive proof that the Sea of the Castout is where Aaravos fell.

    I'm dying to know what Aaravos and the Merciful One's relationship was. I'm leaning more towards them being siblings or some sort of family. Zubeia mentioned that they had to trap Aaravos when he was most vulnerable so I think that the Merciful One was the one who helped with that. For those who don't know the Merciful One is the other elf that was in the statue with Aaravos at his prison.

    • @AngelesLunamoth
      @AngelesLunamoth  Місяць тому

      @@colinmalleck901I think that’s a fair assumption. In my mind, I’m actually separating the events of his fall from the heavens and the scene we get to see in the flashback with the Merciful One.
      But the sea of the cast out being named because that’s where he originally fell makes sense, I just think there is also evidence pointing to the spinning sea. I’m honestly going to hold onto this theory for DEAR LIFE… for as long as possible (fingers crossed for me lol!)

      @@AngelesLunamoth Maybe you are right, and the merciful one event happened in the spinning sea. But it is heavily implied that Aaravos was banished to the sea of the cast out because a giant statue of him and the merciful is there. Maybe he fell into the sea of the castout but also created the spinning sea? It did say he created a new sea upon his fall in the short story “Ripples.” Whatever the event is, I think a plot twist will happen in either season 6 or 7 when Aaravos escapes prison to actually find a way to get back up to the heavens, so that he could get revenge on the startouch elves who betrayed him, or maybe even framed him

    I interpreted the "long night" as the centuries before the humans had any magic, and the 'answer' was Aaravos being cast out, but neither he nor the humans realized that until Aaravos turned the humans to his side with magic.

      I think this is absolutely a possibility. It all depends on WHEN it was named. If it was named somewhere within the last 1000 years, this is probably the case. (Luna Tenebris disappeared around 300 years ago but was ruling for about 700 years before that)
      If it was named before her era, like around 2000 - 1200 years ago, then I’m betting on it being a result of the long night
