I don't understand why Google just didn't just make these like Google Pixel Buds 2.5 with the improved connectivity, improved battery life, keep all of the earbud control features..$125 to $150. What Google got right is the stuff that many people really want: comfortable fit, strong battery life, long usage, good sound, above average microphone, innovative earbud controls at the time. They just needed to not fuck up with connectivity at random times or using just one of them.

(2:03) there are two connection lights on the 2020 pixel buds (near bottom and inside case). The movement of the light for the series-a version was due to the removal of 1 of the connection lights.

I love mine, especially the integration with Google Assistant, They fit great and stay in your ears, only thing I'm missing is the microphones that pipe-in sound from the outside, and The battery life could be better, I have a pair of Galaxy Buds that last forever. But pop them in the case real quick and they're good to go, glad that I purchased them, I use them exclusively with my Pixel 5 and will use the with the Pixel 6 and use the Galaxy Buds with my s21 ultra.

I got the Pixel Buds A for free with my pre-order of the Pixel 6 Pro. As a long-term user of the 2020 Google Pixel Buds. I do have to say that the Pixel Buds A are definitely not the same quality. There are some things that I do like better than the original Pixel Buds 2020, but for the most part I'm going to be using my Google Pixel 6 Pro with my 2020 Pixel Buds. That's not the say that they're not good because they are good and even better for free. But the original Pixel Buds do sound better and it's not even close. I will say they are slightly more comfortable than the original Pixel Buds. As for the connectivity issues I did hear a lot of people had that I only had it on very rare occasions at the beginning I no longer have those issues anymore so that is not an issue for me. I just recently dropped my Pixel Buds onto concrete and cracked the lid of the outer shell. No major damage and a case covers it right up so not a big deal to me. But if that would have been the Pixel Buds A-Series that would have been a different story because it was a really hard fall and this case is definitely not as sturdy as the original.

To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

The pair I owned had a major flaw. They didn't work if you put your phone in your pocket. They just cut in and out constantly. When I would go for a walk, I would pop my AirPods in and get some tunes going on my iPhone X, then drop my phone in my back pocket. I never gave it a second thought. I recently switched to a Google Pixel 4a and Pixel Buds A Series. I start on a walk and drop the 4a in my pocket and the Buds just cut in and out constantly. They were unusable with the phone in my pocket. I went through Google support and they heard it on the call and would have replaced them. I chose instead to swap them at Best Buy. The second pair I got had the same flaw so I took them back as well and got the Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro. They work great with my phone in my pocket! The Pixel Buds A Series have a serious flaw.

I think i'm gonna stick with my original Galaxy Buds (I got them for $50 at walmart)
They still work great, and the Pixel Buds A-series look nice, but they aren't really bringing anything different to the table, like active noise cancellation.
The Beats Studio Buds look great, because they have active noise cancellation, and they're made by Apple but these also fully support Android, which is nice.

$100 for basic earbuds... I kind of regret buying these. These sound the same as some $35 tribit earbuds but UA-cam reviews tricked me into spending $100 on these thanks to all these fake hype videos

How is " a month or so of daily wear" a long term review? Is it just clickbait?

I like these earbuds and I've liked them since they came out but since the Nothing ear (1)s are at the same price I just can't go with the Pixel buds or recommend them to someone. The Nothing earbuds have ANC, the Google ones don't. The Nothing earbuds look stunning, the Google ones look pretty good but not stunning. The Nothing earbuds have wireless charging, the Google buds don't. The Nothing ear(1)s are either as good or better than the Google Pixelbuds A in all categories. That's it. If the Nothing ear(1) earbuds were not revealed I would have gotten the Pixel Buds A but now... I'll get the Nothing ear(1). Sorry Google.
