I had the privilege of being in the studio audience for the taping of one of the Red Skeleton Hour shows. The dancers recorded at a different time and place so they were not in the show taping that night. We laughed so hard for the TWO hours we were there. He was truly an outstanding entertainer. On a bus tour while I was visiting, we were taken by his house. While it was a very nice home, it wasn’t a huge mansion, just a nice brick home. Entertainers Tod could, and should, take lessons from his career!
My parents and I watched Red Skelton 📺 TV show in the 70's. He was too much, he always laugh at his own jokes. He was a true American Idol, a king of laughter. If they bring back these old time comedians the world of today will be a better place to live. But sadly almost all have gone among us not forgotten from us. I have only one thing to say RIP Red Skelton you were the best comedian ever. You brought so much laughter to your family, friends, the Royal family, fans, and people. 😣😄😊😭😲😟😃😀😊😄😄😭

I grew up watching Red Skelton, he was amazing. Funny and didn't swear ..good clean fun. Ge had a life if tragedies, but always managed to make people laugh. A true gentleman. The world needs more like you. Heaven gained a Comic...our loss.

Grew up watching Red Skelton. He made you laugh, made you cry, taught you some life lessons and how to treat your fellow man. I wish my children could have seen his shows along with my grandchildren. He was a humanitarian. One show I have never forgotten and can still see the little boys face in my mind. Was at Christmas when a young boy sang " the little drummer boy". His shows were full of laughter and lessons to be learned. Glad I got to see him growing up.
My Mother had passed away, as expected I was very distraught. A few months later I saw this special. It was the first thing that made me smile after that tragedy. Thanks Red! R.I.P.

Thank you for the tears where did these times go? today people would have a problem with this skit finding everything wrong with what is said and everything preformed. Mostly because he mentions God. I love the one where he speaks about the meaning of the national anthem and what he was taught about it's meaning. Maybe some news agency should air it A great lesson for every one.
Today's comedy performers are not clowns..They depend on foul language and putting down races and genders. Red was more visual and he was funny without cussing or offending anyone. He could also make his audiences cry..as well as laugh..Clowns can do that..comedians..can't.
He honored the flag and loved our country. This is beautiful. Patriotism like this is the reason I served.

He really was America’s Clown. He’s been gone 23 years and is interred about 40 minutes from my area in a very nice crypt. I sure miss him.

After posting 1800 vintage videos on our webpage at ImaSportsphile and having 4 million views....we can honestly agree with your comment that "there is only one Red Skelton.....as his videos have been viewed by 1.8 million of folks....which is over 1 million more than any other comedian, entertainer, musician or athlete.

He was one-of-a-kind there'll never ever be another Red Skelton he always said and Tilly man again and everybody God bless always said that he was one of the best comics of all times never use foul language always polite and loved everyone he will always be Miss God bless you you rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏🙏 he is in heaven he is with his wife

Such words of wisdom we should all heed and follow, in spite of recent events of this comment in the US. We are to build up in love not tear down in fear. We remember the past so we do not repeat the mistakes of old but continue to build and lift each other up out of love.

Mitchel Putman, thanks for your comment....cuz at the core of the reason for undertaking the daunting task of posting our entire 2300 hour vintage video library....is the intent to bring good memories back to life.....and to pay tribute to the Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomer Generation....as these people in this library all deserve to be remembered....in a time they are so quickly being forgotten....and after 2 years of posting 1900 videos (500 hrs)....the star of our vintage library is Red Skelton....by a long shot....he without a doubt is the most beloved entertainer of our library....and althrough we at ImaSportsphile weren't even a gleam in our daddy's eyes when this library was recorded....I have grown to love and admire Red Skelton....God gave Red the gift to make people laugh....and he knew that people need to laugh more....and that is why he got to stay here and entertain....cuz we all need to laugh more.
Imasportsphile III , BTW I had the pleasure of meeting Mr skeltons co host . She lived in Palm springs and had a wonderful collection of Mr skeletons clown paintings . So many infact so many some we're stored in her closet .
Imasportsphile III , I guess you know red skelton also painted many clown paintings . I met his costar in Palm springs she many of those clown paintings. They were beautiful , I wonder if it his way to remember his farther , who left the family to pursue a career with the circus .
Mitchel Putman, we a ImaSportsphile did know that Red painted clowns... for the truth be known....he was a very successful artist financially....as your comment regarding his father becoming a circus entertainer was something we did not know about Red....and the question of whether it was was way of remembering him....possibly so....was his father a clown....cuz Red definitely had a clown inside of him.

Thank you for the tears where did these times go? today people would have a problem with this skit finding everything wrong with what is said and everything preformed. Mostly because he mentions God. I love the one where he speaks about the meaning of the national anthem and what he was taught about it's meaning. Maybe some news agency should air it A great lesson for every one.

Today's. Comedians could never and will never hold a candle to this man ! A gentle soul and a gentle man !
Today's comedy performers are not clowns..They depend on foul language and putting down races and genders. Red was more visual and he was funny without cussing or offending anyone. He could also make his audiences cry..as well as laugh..Clowns can do that..comedians..can't.
Great man, not just a comedian, this country could use hundreds like him now, wake up people.
