Another wonderful prior to crossing episode! You reminded me, Grace, to always keep a written record of what I bring on/into my sailboat. A running inventory, so to speak. Well, that is when I get a big enough boat to go cruising on. And Bill, looking over all that hardware! Wow-Boy You certainly don't want any of that failing on a long voyage!
Lovely episode and fun to see you so happy 👍 and very Swedish episode! Swedish-built quality eats in the harbor and you sing Swedish songs by Avicii 🇸🇪😀😄💕
I know you’re underway by now so wishing you fair seas and steady winds. It’s been great to see how happy you’ve been as you got closer to it. I’m still worried about the mast to boom connection but I’m sure bill has it under control.. Will you find a new spirit animal in Polynesia and leave the sloth behind?😂 Nice vid this week. Looking forward to your pacific crossing and adventures. ⛵️
How cool is it for you to be hanging out with Ruthie n Garrett they are the coolest couple I just absolutely adore them they're so sweet, as well as both of you
*Good* job men! I don't know if my tiny little life will ever use Garrett's tip of cutting "wear-washers" out of a plastic bucket, but i'm glad he put the idea in my brain. Could Rediviva cross the Mighty Pacific‽ 🌅🌊⛵🌊🌅
Hey Bill, possibly something that could help in your kit. Loctite 660 Quick Metal is magic. If you have a jacked up hole and some sleeve material, this stuff will fill in the gaps n make it solid. Used it in high impact bushing applications and had to cut worn out one out years later, It was Permanent!!
Looks like you're going to have a fair amount of company crossing the pacific, I'm assuming the other youtubers will all be leaving pretty close together when that perfect weather window opens up. Nice when you have others you can share information with... Looks like Brian and Kazza will be spending a lot of time in Australia on their new boat project. I guess if you don't catch up with them in French Polynesia, you'll have plenty of opportunity when you get as far as Australia...
It looks like there is a fare amount of corrosion on the spreader tips. It would be worth your time to recheck them after a good wire brushing with a stainless steel brush.Cracks can hide under the white powder.
I left La Cruz this morning. I was on Takatimu with Mario and John. But I left for the states this morning. Strange to find this episode this evening. I would have loved to talk with you.
Please, please, please pull that gooseneck fitting off the mast and get it NDTed. Non-Destrutive Tested. You can zyglow inspect it in place though it’s better to pull it off and inspect. Not expensive. Could save you huge heart-ache. Thanks, z.
Great video! Is there a point at which you just have to say, "Okay. That's good enough. Let's go"? It seems like no boat can ever get every little, tiny project done, and if you wait until everything is perfect, you'll never leave the dock.
Really nice video. And yea still bits and pieces to be checked off the list getting done. So important to have good sailing friends and you two have them in abundance. I guess the majority of them will be crossing with you around the same time. Looking forward to next video. Also I've noticed the both of you have shed some weight correct me if I'm wrong you are both looking very fit .
Maybe when yourself and the lovely grace finish doing all the prep work to cross the pacific , catalpa might be also finish their work and you both can buddy boat the pacific crossing .
Doing all the work while up the mast would take me twice as long at my age. Bathroom breaks would determine how long I was up there. I suppose a cup would work but if I missed, I might piss off (or piss on) someone! Love the mix of work and fun ❤.
Black Polypropylen is much more UV rays resistant . Then keep in mind there are 3 main types of Polypropylen Low , medium and high density. I would go for medium density since high density might be more brittle, also use two washers on the bottom, they would almost self lubricate. (Black pigment absorbs the UV rays and transforms them into heat)
Yeah.. I really hate those rubber spreader boots.. they retain so much humidity, and you already know what happens between aluminum and stainless in that environment… I drill hole in them so any water can evaporate quickly.. leather are the worst.. will remain damp for longer time..
So money is really not of a lot of use in the Marquesas . Trade items; Machetes, black bra`s. Fishing gear. If you are going to church, men, black pants, white shirt. Women, White dress.
Call me disorganized and haphazard but why exactly is inventorying provisions necessary? So you start with 20 cans of peas and 2 months later you can’t find a can if peas, just grab a can of corn. Go with the flow. Carefree, stressfree is the way to be.
And yea what did ya say 😂😂😂you talk so fast bro take a breath lol im sure your informed that you talk really fast like some things come out so fast i have to hit rewind to see exactly what your saying for the most part your good butt geez sometimes im like 😮😮😮
The cool thing to look forward to is meeting up with Delos when you arrive. I'm sure Sierra misses you a lot Grace.
I just love seeing Grace happy!’ Biggest hugs ever to you both!!!❤🎉
Miss you guys so much! Don't worry, we are holding down the fort at lusty's xo
Miss you guys! 😍. Pass the torch! We had so much FOMO seeing some of your stories!
I love how Calico skies has become such a party destination! Those lights are great. It’s getting closer!
Thank u Marisa!! 💕
I am so happy and excited for you and Bill. It's so wonderful you're crossing with a group of other boats as well. Thank you for sharing this with us!

its good to keep an inventory, easy to loose stuff onboard!
Y'all are doing great! All best wishes for a safe crossing.
Thanks so much!

Thank you so much! Yep we are about 1000 miles out now! I wonder what the new animal will be?!
A lot of work to get ready for the crossing. Safe travels.

Nice to see Ruthie and Garret with you guys !!
The more you know the more you worry!
*Good* job men!

Could Rediviva cross the Mighty Pacific‽
🌅🌊⛵🌊🌅
Good outside the box thinking by Garret!
washers for the parts bin...extra parts are key
Great video!
Calico Skies has never been in better shape than now. You're NAILING it.
I can't wait to see you guys sailing. It will be nice 🎉❤❤
It's coming! in real time we are 1000 miles out !
Testing your diligence now! Love and miss you two 🫶

Thank Ruthie! Miss you guys as well 😍
Thanks for another great video. Sure lots of prep work involved before a crossing. Always look forward to your videos. 🤎
Thank you 🙏🏼 so glad you enjoyed it!

nice tip 👍
Calico Skies, Delos, Salt & Tar, Sailing Uma, MJ Sailing - my favorite sailing channels. Love it when their paths cross.
Always fun to meet up with the other youtubers!
Calico Skies is looking good and so are you two! Great job both of you! Fair Winds and Following Seas on your journey !!!!
Thank you!
It should be a safe trip with all the checking your doing. I hope all checks out and you both can get on your long passage.

Yep we will likely miss Delos in FP but sure we will meet up now that we will b e on the same side of the planet. We left with 3 other boats :)
PEACE +++++++++
Great video. Love seeing you guys out with friends. The disco boat is awesome!❤😊👍🕺

Have you crossed the Pacific before? There's some pretty rough conditions out there, so pick your weather windows carefully.
We have not, we visited friend in Fiji on a sailboat back in 2017
I left La Cruz this morning. I was on Takatimu with Mario and John. But I left for the states this morning. Strange to find this episode this evening. I would have loved to talk with you.
sorry to have missed you!
@@CalicoSkiesSailing Maybe sometime in the future in an anchorage far away, we will meet.
Listen to your dreams always, I do they are rarely wrong.

Yep very true, it's a risk assessment hit the things that can cause major isses
great video
I see your on your way, all the best with the weather window, enjoy.
Thanks 👍 We have over 1,000 miles behind us now
What awesome sound and ambience. I am sure even the fish are partying with you guys.
😂
If you got any corrotion on your spreaders bars just replace your rigging. It is not safe for any type of ocean crossings.
Way to get at it! So close for go time!
Another groovy episode. Things are getting exciting now.
Can’t do life without friends… 🇨🇦 ❤
Good luck and thank you for all your great videos!
Love to see you met Delos again 👍😎
Really nice video. And yea still bits and pieces to be checked off the list getting done. So important to have good sailing friends and you two have them in abundance. Also I've noticed the both of you have shed some weight correct me if I'm wrong you are both looking very fit .
Thank you! We've been walking like 10 miles a day in la cruz lol
I see Sailing Avocet!
Yep there were around as well!
So cool seeing Bill and Garrett together!
Don’t know how far behind this is, but Sailing Zingaro recently did quite a few episodes taking about rig failures.
Maybe when yourself and the lovely grace finish doing all the prep work to cross the pacific , catalpa might be also finish their work and you both can buddy boat the pacific crossing .
ha Catalpa was in Cabralles up in the Sea and we didn't meet them until the Annapolis boat show ha

Didn't know that
Once again Brilliant video
You should go Teflon for those bushings.

Yea good call! Def traps moisture
I like the floatilla as some call it which is just all the youtubers boats...
😂 funny how that works out lol
Thought you were going to buddy boat with Breaking Waves??
We are! Currently about 1000 miles out into the pacific and we are seperated by about 60 miles
So money is really not of a lot of use in the Marquesas . Trade items; Machetes, black bra`s. Fishing gear. If you are going to church, men, black pants, white shirt. Women, White dress.
I just like that I can be the third to comment:). Just kidding. Always love your videos. Looking forward to seeing the crossing when it is time.
😜😂 thank u!!
Jennifer Jason Lee. You could be sisters if you grew up in the 80s
How do I get tixs to Club Calico? Muy caliente!
😂💕

Peas and corn are interchangeable. Olive oil and peas are not :)

I know (says Grace) and that’s slowed down to 96% lol
