Hi KENT. Here's what Happened.
- Joshua and Julia was a real celebrity couple. They Broke up early of 2019. A few months after around July 2019, Julia was caught up on an issue with Gerald Anderson (also an actor). Julia "allegedly" had an affair with Gerald Anderson even though he has a girlfriend, Bea Alonzo (an actress as well). But those are all Allegations. Julia and Gerald denied the issue. But people are quick to judged her without concrete proof (tbh I was one of those people, and I'm sorry for that). Photos are circulating in the on line world allegedly showing that Gerald and Julia are always together but you can't see them together in any of those photos.
- Julia was Bashed by the many. In fact it seems like it became a National Issue back then. Even politicians joined the band wagon.
- Joshua was not in the picture when that happened. Technically they broke up so he doesn't have any responsibility to help or protect Julia anymore. But I guess their relationship was way more than just girlfriend boyfriend. It's deeper and they really loved each other. When they were together people and fans really rooted for then because they're really look good for each other. That's the reason Why Joshua apologize to Julia for not being with her when she needed him the. Most.
- Julia's apology on the other hand was probably for 2 things. 1st it's part of the scene that they're doing. The girl run out of the altar. So she really needs to apologize (obviously). 2nd when they broke up I think they still really love each other but their relationship is going nowhere. And it seems like she was the 1st one to move on (Those are just my observation).
For me this is the Worst celebrity split ups in the Philippine showbiz. 💔😭
And btw Kent you 2 were right. They really tried to stay in together. When they're still together (long before the Gerald issue came up) a lot of issues came up like Julia's being too possessive and her family doesn't like Joshua. And for Joshua he was caught flirting with other girls. One in particular was a girl he met from IG which he confirmed and apologize and make up to Julia. So you see, the really fought for their love. They both made mistakes. Not on Julia. And Joshua was not the only one who got hurt.
But Joshua lover her so much,his trying to reach out Julia,but circumstances now allow.Still hoping that someday soon cla pa rin
The irony that Moira released it on Valentine's where everyone should be happy and inlove but then the whole nation went heartbroken instead. Lol
Those two, julia and josh was a real couple here in the Philippines, they broke up without saying anything, as to what happened, which is normal to protect each other from controversy, they never spoke to each other after that, and in this music video, they were given a chance to say the words they could've said when they had the chance but they didn't had that chance, so in this MV, it's their way to answer all the rumors about their break up and criticism thrown to julia after their relationship.
They're both happy now and moved on.

wayback in 2019 these two split up because of the rumors of Julia having an affair with her leading man on a movie that time(Gerald Anderson) she was bashed so harshly in 2019 when that issue came up, she lost a lot of her commitments because of that and during that time Joshua was not with her because you can't also blame Joshua, he just got cheated on, he is also in pain and hurting, that's what they meant when he said "I wasn't able to protect you" Julia was alone that time, as in alone expect her family of course, but Joshua her boyfriend was not there with her, to begin with it's all just rumor about her and Gerald, she must have waited for him to be there with her, but he never came :*( and 2 years after here we are hearing their epilogue/closure. huhuhuhu
FYI. They Broke up early of 2019. It was Months before the Gerald Anderson issue came up. So Gerald is definitely not the reason why they broke up. They have their own issues to deal with.

if you know what went down in their relationship, the issues, the bashing... this video will hurt more. they say Julia and Joshua wrote the script, but to be honest, i don't think there's any script at all. this is coming from the heart. it's the closure they both needed.

Nung di siya na protektahan thing na sinabi ay tungkol dun sa many bashers na sinasabi ng iba na humarot siya sa iba while having Josh as her BF but IDK the back story so hindi ko naman jinajudge tapos yown, may sinabi pa si Julia nung sinabi ni Josh na aalis na siya pero di na nila nilagay sa caption. :/
My bf experienced something like this with his ex gf of 6 yrs.... and he dedicated this song to her after she cheated him....he was about to propose to her on her bday, but she cheated a month b4...and she had history of flirting with guys....he loved her so much to the point that even when the girl moved in with the other guy, he followed her asked the guy to come out of the house and face him....there was almost a violent confrontation... but when the guy told him that he had touched her...my bf felt disgusted and gave up... after 2 months, he met me..and on New years eve of 2022, he said goodbye to his ex gf's family who already treated him as an in-law...and told them tht he is already courting me... then in mid Jan 2022, the girl tried to reconnect with him on fb, but he blocked her...Every lyric of this song made me cry because i felt his pain during those times (knowing that he was already cheated by 2 women by then...*2 exs...the 1st he lived with for 15yrs n broke up 2x in those years)...my bf is an independent man...he has an apartment n lives alone ... away from his parents n relatives... advices were just coming on to him thru messages...watching Real Talk Darbs... to keep his sanity... until one of his friends said that there are a lot of fish in the sea...why not try online dating...so he made a profile on fb dating app...and met me there....the rest is our love story... 🥰 he said he was glad that it all happened... to pave a way for us to meet each other... i pray we tie the knot this year because we are not getting any younger...we will both have our bdays this April, ill be 37 n he'll be 41... 😁

If we base this on the story of JoshLia then the song is on the guy's point of view.
You should follow them.. they are real life couples and the girl allegedly cheated and that's the reason they broke up and the message is theirs(Not acting at all).
