You're getting around Bill, Caia estate was once called Queens Park, there's been riots in the past, it's rough, but there's still some nice places to visit in Wrexham, there's good and bad areas in most towns and cities, keep up the good work.
You've gone there on a Sunday afternoon where everywhere is shut and nobody goes there, your making it look like town is a ghost town. Wrexham is a beautiful place we have world heritage sites.
Thanks for going to me old home town Billy. It wasn’t always like that. I lived in Wrexham for 29 years and it used to be vibrant and decent with a real community. It’s been rotting since about 1990 tbh. Caia Parc is pretty much a no go area and yes you feel trapped by the maze of dead ends and blocks of flats. That’s where I grew up. Sad decline.
Just watched this video and am confused as to the reason of making it. I moved to Wrexham in 1978 and have seen all the ups and downs of a small market town trying to make itself bigger and better and not always getting it right. I have to say that Wrexham is not alone on this, I have been visiting York & Stratford-upon-Avon for years and unfortunately they have fallen on bad times too with homelessness and drugs. There are plenty of towns and cities that have large council estates and prisons nearby so that isn't unusual either. All I took from this video is another jealous dig at Wrexham for being chosen by Rob first to put money into a football club that has had loyal supporters since it first opened its doors. I am sure if we took the cameras around Liverpool and its suburbs we would see exactly the same. It takes time to build on any success and hopefully now Wrexham can grow in the right direction.
Hey jenny, I'm sure Wrexham has great people and areas, and im sure Billy knows that also. It isn't billys style to go film the posh or well kept areas, as Billy has lived on the streets and raised on estates here in liverpool. Billy showed liverpool at its worst recently with the county road riots. I applaud your defensive take on your area 👏 that tells us people who dont know it well, a lot! that there is pride in these comments from residents. Just like you to know it is not a video of any judgement as Billy is as down to earth as they come and trust me he's showed much darker sides of liverpool 😂 what area don't have those sides now ! Just wanted you to know. There is zero judgement from Billy... truthfully, he's showing the austerity of many neglected areas and the scale of the homeless crisis country-wide. And im pro immigration, but the correct way! They get hotel rooms and homes and ta payers money, and why are they all male. I'd send my wife and child before me if we was escaping to refuge. Also the definition of refuge is to reach a safe haven outside your country, and these people are passing through other European countries, to come here. Why is that? Free Money and property's. Reality Is , if France allow the boats to leave then that keeps there numbers down and any potential risks that one with unidentifiable people, with goodness knows what records or at the least there true intentions for coming etc.
@jennywatson5645 so long as the council listen and do the wishes of wrexham residents problem I to much conflict if interest in the council with buisnrss men running the show and funneling money into their side businesses they are the reason the town is and has been struggling the heads of council do as they want and pretend it what wrexham people want then they move to new jobs elsewhere and bobs your uncle couple mill of our money has gone the football ground is tge onky think keeping wrexham afloat without it wrexham would be a failed city and act more like a failing village the problem is until the council listen to the residents nothing will change in a hurry.
I'm from Liverpool and live in Wrexham (and you used to be my sponsor in Aigburth!) and you definitely gave the guided tour of the underbelly. I live just on the southern border of Caia Park in Hightown, and see a lot of town's street drinkers coming home past my flat's garden... its sad to see how many broken people there are living there. Going east out of the town centre, with all the 80's buildings and the massive Tesco, then Caia Park and Wrexham Industrial Estate and the prison, you'd be forgiven for thinking Wrexham is an utter sh!thole. But go the other direction, you get to Erddig Country Park, Plas Power, Esclusham, Pontycyllte Aqueduct, some very beautiful welsh countryside, some old mining communities and some very decent people. Unfortunately that is the story of Wrexham... it is a town of two halves, and the Caia Park side might as well be in North East Liverpool ... the same social problems, poverty, lack of social mobility, terrible racism, substance misuse and violence. But thankfully Wrexham seems to be a town on the up. It's a city, we have celebrities in charge of the football, and tourism is having a boom too. I hope if you ever visit again you'll be able to show how much it's changed for the better. 🙏
Hahaha Bill been watching your videos for a year now. From Wrexham ways meself and knew youd be there eventually… Before the Football take over the City was becoming derelict with a small amount of Charity Shops. Wrexham is not all bad, we moved here in 2006 from liverpool and been here near 20yrs. The people are good people and like many cities & towns all over the uk it has deprived area’s. Its really sad to see people in this way in 2024.
Afternoon Billy lad, you was right there when you said the most harmful drug is alcohol , thing is that consecutive British government's make a shed load of tax from it. l wonder if it was cheap to buy like it is in most other countries in the world, they would equate the tax from alcohol versus the cost to NHS, justice system for silly fines or bind over orders and police officers paperwork for the sake of a £50 fine or whatever. l always thought that they had clever people in London working the sums out. obviously not unless they are using calculators and thier batteries run out. stay safe my friend.
Ive lived in Wrexham the last 12 years and yes the town centre is a dive but most towns now usually are. You should come back and do the surrounding areas
The prison is also something we didn’t want but our disaster of a council insisted on it being allowed. To be fair despite going out of your way to find the worst areas, it’s not bad at all, with less negatives than most cities. The main problem we have is that the council built more modern shopping areas, but did it in 3 locations outside of the centre which in turn killed the centre of town. Also we are not famous for Ryan Reynolds, if you bothered to do the smallest amount of research you’d see our rich and diverse history. We’ve also got a massive art and music scene here.
I Lived in a Place called Summerhill in 1975 just outside Wrexham. I worked on a YTS Scheme to build a Golf Course called Moss valley all holes were Par 3s. I loved the Area and enjoyed 8 months there, I lived in Bottom Road in a House Called Clifton. I went to Wrexham to meet up with a School Friend Called Roy Peagram who lived in Brymbo. Happy days.
I was a Screw in Wanssworth (and Risley female remand) in the early 90's. Saw Ronnie Biggs' property box on my first day and the big fat screw said "he'll be getting this back one day"... I laughed. He was right he returned from Brazil and finished his sentence. Gorillas fingers as you say went out the window in them days. Sh*t parcel patrol every morning to pick them up. You never forget the smell of the ablusions. C wing was my wing. 400 on full unlock. 20 staff. Tough times for cons and screws them days. Got transferred to Risley female remand was part of the new prison 1992. Was deffo like a holiday camp.
I'm sure living in Wrexham is shit for those two guys in the alley. Living anywhere would be shit for those two deadbeats. Not exactly the best choice of people to get insight from. Wrexham is a nice town. It looks a little drab and lifeless in places, (filming on a Sunday afternoon doesn't help!), with lots of empty shops, but what town doesn't suffer from that these days? The only really reprehensible aspect is the fact that the prison here is basically an all-inclusive holiday camp. Any convict who gets sent down and banged up here would be laughing.
That's the streets for you Gary, remember the 70,s as a kid then the drunks and bums on the streets looked like washed out old men? They were the same then probably only in there 30,s then 🤔🤔🤔🤔

If ever I was in that position, I'd nick one of those big bins and kip in there, not exactly warm but at least its dry, being wet and cold is really miserable.
Every weekend there's live music in loads of the pubs in Wrexham and you've also forgo to mention the prison is based on one of if not the biggest industrial estate in Europe with thousands of people employed there.

Sugar puffs, showers in each cell and play stations. Compared to the 5 men sitting drinking beer during the day with no roof over their head, these prisoners might as well be staying at centerparks.

@Willst-l4h Thanks for your reply. Quite a lot of ex-prisoners have shared their stories on UA-cam. Sam Walker once showed the portion he was given and it wasn't enough to feed a pigeon and looked badly cooked. The 1st thing I noticed about the prison in.Wrexham was how modern it looked. Compared to the men sleeping in doorways that we'd seen a few minutes earlier it looked like a Palace. When Billy asked about the food he was told it was decent. I was comparing the difference between the homeless and the standards in that particular prison I can imagine there are some very dodgy characters in there as well as some.sound people who've just made some bad decisions. I hope you enjoy your freedom and that life unfolds in a good way for you.💯👍
@scob102 Yeah all normal freedoms are taken away. But I know people who don't have access to their own shower and due to the cost of living crisis are not eating 3 healthy meals a day. Having access to alcohol bought from a shop, but not having a roof over your head isn't enviable.
@@mariadodds2042 I understand what you’re saying but addiction is a choice; incarceration is not… however both are the consequences of people’s actions. I have helped several people who are homeless and addicted over the course of the last few years, and had friends who have been in jail. Both have a profound effect on mental wellbeing and people’s futures. Having three meals a day and en en-suite shower doesn’t make up for the psychological & emotional effect of prison, but having been the partner of a heroin addict I’m no stranger to the effects of addiction and the abuse that causes most of it. The fact that we treat prisoners better than homeless people and addicts is a sad reflection and indictment of our society.

I would recommend trying South Wales, Neath, Pontypridd and Merthyr. Billy, that housing estate Caer in Wrexham, the Ely estate in Cardiff is bigger than that, 30000 plus easily.
You can tell it's a decant housing estate, they still have working defibrillators on the shopfront wall. It's sad to say, they couldn't put defibrillators on our shopfronts, they'd last all of about 2 days... The life-saving defibrillators would end up being accused of being a grass, and then get smashed off the wall....

You can't kid a kidder, a Bill. Addiction is built around denial. There's hope for all in the grips of every addiction. All about timing and how far down your willing to drop into the gutter. Sometimes prison is the best and only option to turn someone away. They probably get the only chance for a break away from their addiction when behind bars. At least a year to give the body and mind a chance to heal. I know many who went this route and succeeded. This is the best and only chance some will ever have at the opportunity to face themselves. More emphasis and recognition for going this route. We need success, fresh eyes fresh thinking, seize the day.✌️☘️

Not until the local government gets rid of corruption within
Hey jenny, I'm sure Wrexham has great people and areas, and im sure Billy knows that also.
Every town centre is almost identical now. Sad
Yes, head west❤❤❤❤
I'm no detective but paddy's name was on that bottle he claimed wasn't his 😅
😂
Hahaha Bill been watching your videos for a year now. From Wrexham ways meself and knew youd be there eventually… Before the Football take over the City was becoming derelict with a small amount of Charity Shops.
Quality video mate, nice to see what the Streets are like recently since the Football take over. Not been back to Wrexham in a few years living in Liverpool now, much better place i must say
Good old days,, Tranmere v Wrexham,,
@@maurice3872😂 always kick offs back then, I'd go to watch SWA back in the day on a Friday night and then Goodison on a Saturday, and aways , oh I forgot I played for the original TRFC ladies team , good days 👍🏻
Wrexham is not all bad, we moved here in 2006 from liverpool and been here near 20yrs. The people are good people and like many cities & towns all over the uk it has deprived area’s. Its really sad to see people in this way in 2024.
I'm a drinker don't take drugs little bottle of meth with his name on it 😂
😂😂
Better eyes than me I couldn't read that label
Never underestimate the stupidity of people.
Shoplifter is obviously mental
have you ever met anyone with that coat who isnt mental?!

@@bluesmachine1006 yes your lager was on offer on the titanic. That went down well too.
Try Chester next, lots of homeless there but nicer walk.
💙
You are a good man Billy, Highlighting these massive problems.
Brilliant insight into whats happening all over the uk
IT was big Ernie who got him doing all that.
Not all over.
Happy days.
There's par 4's and a 5 now. Still get a good workout getting round the course. Start at sea level and half way round youre close to the sun 😅
I'VE SEEN A LOT WORSE PLACES THAN WREXHAM.
Don't be daft, Wrexham wasn't made famous by Ryan Renolds, it was Robbie Savage!
Nah it was Sparky!!
Thanks for sharing appreciate that mate old time screw 👌
I live in wrexham it's sad how it's become. I remember it being packed on the high streets as a kid
And me sat was ace
I'm sure living in Wrexham is shit for those two guys in the alley. Living anywhere would be shit for those two deadbeats. Not exactly the best choice of people to get insight from. Wrexham is a nice town. It looks a little drab and lifeless in places, (filming on a Sunday afternoon doesn't help!), with lots of empty shops, but what town doesn't suffer from that these days? The only really reprehensible aspect is the fact that the prison here is basically an all-inclusive holiday camp. Any convict who gets sent down and banged up here would be laughing.
I'm in my 60s so it makes my day seeing people younger than me who look older 😂
That's sad, you a drunk living rough
@@JohnSmith-e7j no! F*** that! 😂
That's the streets for you Gary, remember the 70,s as a kid then the drunks and bums on the streets looked like washed out old men? They were the same then probably only in there 30,s then 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@Theoriginalbigbrillo yeah we called them Tramps in the 60s and 70s you never see them anymore. I couldn't sleep on the streets I'm too weary of human rats and I'm scared of actual Rats! 😂
Actual rats are better than some humans...l never insult rats by calling humans rats.
If ever I was in that position, I'd nick one of those big bins and kip in there, not exactly warm but at least its dry, being wet and cold is really miserable.
Wrexham is a friendly place
Hey mate if you want to see the most deprived housing estate in north wales head to an estate in Bangor Gwynedd called maesgierchen
Every weekend there's live music in loads of the pubs in Wrexham and you've also forgo to mention the prison is based on one of if not the biggest industrial estate in Europe with thousands of people employed there.
You can't blag a blagger, i could of told you he was on meth just by looking, he's probably that used to blaggin to get by, it just comes natural, still pretty sad to see though. ✌️.
He is effectively a woman. Born to lie.
I love watching your videos, Billy, but some times they do make me sad. It's absolutely heartbreaking what is happening to people, and not just those on the streets. Just the general every day person looks downtrodden these days.
Wrexham council have a lot to answer for.
@billy Moore
Brilliant watching you and it’s honestly the best REAL LIFE no bull shite content on UA-cam

It’s not that they are down and having it rough
It’s about how you recover from it and come back stronger

Great videos. Like the respect you show the homeless. Well done lad.
I've been in over 30 UK and Welsh prisons. Berwyn is definitely in my top 3 worst if not the worse. Don't believe the hype. Much respect Bill 🙏
Sugar puffs, showers in each cell and play stations. Compared to the 5 men sitting drinking beer during the day with no roof over their head, these prisoners might as well be staying at centerparks.
@@mariadodds2042 ah your one of them are ya 😂😂😂
PlayStations in each cell kinda girl
Let me ask you one question!!!
HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED A PLAYSTATION 1 in 2024 🤣🤣🤣🤣
TRUST ME - it ain’t no privilege
INFACT I WOUKD GO AS FAR AS TO SAY , IT ADDS TO THE PUNISHMENT

IVE SPENT 7 year in jail , LIKE IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE , YOU WILL ENCOUNTER THE WEAK , BUT ILL ALSO TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE, THERE IS VERY SCARY DANGEROUS PEOPLE IN THOSE PRISONS MATE !!!!!! PEOPLE THAT THINK NOTHING OF KILLING ANOTHER PERSON .
I was comparing the difference between the homeless and the standards in that particular prison
I can imagine there are some very dodgy characters in there as well as some.sound people who've just made some bad decisions. I hope you enjoy your freedom and that life unfolds in a good way for you.💯👍
Apart from not being able to go the shop and buy alcohol obviously
Our great state education system created all this loveliness…
Hey welcome to my neck of the woods mate, been down Tenby for a few days to get away from this reality, this council estate as been in these circles since I was a kid, grew up with Barry john he didn't have it easy, but don't be a victim hey.

Nathan is my cousin, he had a bad upbringing..wrexham is like most towns and citys through out the UK trashed and ruined with any british culture destroyed...
Been in rehabs & detox centres all over Glasgow.
Trust me when I say this the damage done to people through alcohol is worse than the damage done by smoking/injecting heroin.
Fact! The alcohols were bed ridden for multiple weeks. Always the worst rattles trying to come off the drink it seemed.

I’m from Wrexham I don’t no how it’s become a city it’s mad
I would recommend trying South Wales, Neath, Pontypridd and Merthyr.
Billy, that housing estate Caer in Wrexham, the Ely estate in Cardiff is bigger than that, 30000 plus easily.
You can tell it's a decant housing estate, they still have working defibrillators on the shopfront wall.
It's sad to say, they couldn't put defibrillators on our shopfronts, they'd last all of about 2 days...
The life-saving defibrillators would end up being accused of being a grass, and then get smashed off the wall....
that fella robbin from the shop sounded bit like andy off little britain .went to wrexham on a saturday afternoon few years ago it was dead as a doornail

Loving these walk around, and keeping it real thanks Billy
You can't kid a kidder, a Bill. Addiction is built around denial. There's hope for all in the grips of every addiction. All about timing and how far down your willing to drop into the gutter. Sometimes prison is the best and only option to turn someone away. They probably get the only chance for a break away from their addiction when behind bars. At least a year to give the body and mind a chance to heal. I know many who went this route and succeeded. This is the best and only chance some will ever have at the opportunity to face themselves. More emphasis and recognition for going this route. We need success, fresh eyes fresh thinking, seize the day.✌️☘️
I used to go there quite often as it's close to me, but not been there in years. It's certainly gone down, but there again so has Chester. Too many people on the streets.
Never go to Chester...too posh/snobby for me, but we did actually venture there recently and was stunned how 'Wrexham-like' it's become. Down & Outs kipping in shop doorways, beggers on the streets etc... We'll be back!
Love Billy's walkrounds

used to work on and around Queens Park years ago. There were some lovely people on that estate.
Well fair play you’ve made Wrexham look really inviting 🤦🏼♀️ you only seemed to want to show the down side which is sad as there are lots of great places with lots of rich history and good ppl who live in and around the city. The shoplifting guy I felt really bad for bless him 😢. Anyways cheers for coming to wxm 😂
A Texan from Wrexham, a bell from Abbergell. Sing us 10 cheeses. 😂😂
Lived in Wrexham all my life used to love it.Was always busy plenty of shops night life was really good. Its sad to see how its gone like a ghost town these days i avoid going into town these days unless i have too.
In the mid 80s , would travel to a young peoples meeting in a church then we would park up in the High Street in mini bus with Jesus Loves You on the side of it. It was quite a wild street back then with drinkers and clubbers. was always a hoppy smell from the brewery. Hardly recognised the place after they had demolished the brewery and built retail park. Sadly like too many towns and cities with homeless ,alcoholics and druggies .
Wrexham does have a lot more and lots and lots of good thinks going on too . Love your videos wish I bumped into you . Nice words to the homeless lads hope they can take your advice keep it really Billy hope your family are well

8:11 I’d like to know where you get your hair cut normally if you think £8 is expensive for a trim!😱. I go to an old fashioned barber shop in Morecambe, two old blokes- £8.50, I always give them a tenner and say “keep the change”, as I’ve always tipped. My previous barber was only a fiver, that was because he was in his late 70s, it was his shop, his building, and he only kept going for the conversation and mainly so he didn’t have to sit at home with his wife!😬🤣😂Sadly, he had to retire due to heart problems about 4 years or so ago.☹️
