I was around Tottenham in May 2011 to watch my team (Birmingham City) play. After the game (where there were one or two scuffles) we ended up in some estate nearby where they'd parked our coach. The coach I was on wasn't a normal fans coach but rather one run by the Zulus, the old school hooligans. It was fascinating that even in a high crime area like that, that we still needed what must have been 100 police officers just to guard our coach and keep us contained. What was also fascinating was the reaction of the local especially in the flats, it was like they were amazed at seeing police that weren't looking for THEM.
Haha he actually was there that day but was totally chilled out and enjoying the social gathering. In fact what must have looked like a standoff between the Zulus and the police at one point was simply one bloke explaining that he's a millionaire now and no matter what they think, isn't there for trouble.

Tottenham is, without question, a sh*thole, meaning an area characterised by high crime, high poverty, low levels of property-ownership, and a high rate of dependency on social housing. This is why it was, 21 years ago, cheap enough for me to buy a place in. As a matter of fact, I live a 10-minute walk away from the Broadwater Farm Estate. In the course of his murder during the infamous Broadwater Farm riots of 1985, PC Keith Blakelock was practically decapitated, I understand. Then, one day in August 2011, my flatmate Vicky came to my room and told me that her boyfriend, who lived on Tottenham High Road, had told her that there had just been a shooting there. The morning after, in shops, at bus stops and in supermarket queues everywhere in N17, absolutely everyone was talking about the shocking, local rioting of the previous evening. As you know, the 2011 Tottenham riot sparked about a week of nationwide rioting and looting. Notwithstanding all these ugly facts about my local area, is N17 really "more feared" than any other part of London? Yep, a Tuesday afternoon in West Croydon can be quite dangerous.
Croydon’s rough only place I’ve been in the uk & seen gangs hanging on the streets in the day & I mean real gangs not boys just chilling in numbers. Second time I visited I left my jewellery at home 😂 not worth getting killed over lol

Much nicer nowadays. So King’s Cross is a slum now and was good before? One example of dozens. Great area nowadays. So the old Hackney was better and nicer? Even posh kids move to Peckham , Brixton ….. these days. Why. Because they are nicer . You prefer 150 more yearly murders and endless hooligans like the good old days?
I used to hang around Tottenham and Wood Green loads as a kid. Didn’t live too far from there. Lovely people. Haven’t been back in a very long time but have great memories of the place. ❤

Theyd have needed 100 old Bill to stop 1 eyed baz if things got naughty. 🙏 Rip
Haha he actually was there that day but was totally chilled out and enjoying the social gathering.
In fact what must have looked like a standoff between the Zulus and the police at one point was simply one bloke explaining that he's a millionaire now and no matter what they think, isn't there for trouble.
@@adebolabloke6962 Great memories 👍👍

@@LiClan when I've lived there, Tooting and Mitcham, got stabbing or rapes in local newspaper multiple times per year. Not as rough as in Thornton Heat and Croydon, but still...

Please show me your evidence for saying so and say what you actually mean by "feared". Or you can just ignore my comment, especially if this vid is just a bit of fun, haha! 😆
