when you start to break it down you can see how much Ritchie Blackmore influenced Eddie and Randy Rhoads and how they both took it in their own direction.Great lesson.
Going back and learning from some of your older videos and just realized that the first part of this lick is really close to the first part of the outro descending lick in "You Really Got Me", which I looked everywhere for a tutorial on, but had to learn it on my own, which was fine. Great video man.
Cheers Ryan. I am actually thinking of re-teaching some of my old licks since I'm a lot better at teaching now compared to then. The lick videos at the time was how I was testing what potential viewers wanted to see from me.
I ordered the circles guitar a couple days ago and will get here soon, I'm really excited for it, mainly because I've seen a bunch of your videos with it and it looks like it's amazing
That guitar must have some incredible action for you to bend the A Note on the e string 5tth fret with your pointer finger like you do...good job also, do you know the value of the volume pot? I can't find the specs anywhere. I know Ed used 350 k back in the day.... a pretty obscure value good lesson cheers
Hi Heather. Love your comment! The action I'd say is a medium action on this guitar. The volume pot is either a 250k or 500k pot. I assume a 250k because it has got incredibly low friction.. I hope that helps. EVH make the pot as a spare part :)
Nice chops man got a new sub. whats best way to get u p to speed on those alternate picking licks? feels like I progress so slowly and I have trouble incorporating fast shredding when soloing with legato and stuff on high frets
Van Halen never gets old! good to see someone my age who enjoys them as well lol

James Wilding Thanks man! I am gonna record a video on how to get the brown sound through my Yamaha THR10X so stick around for some more Van Halen :)

Great playing. Is that Les Paul on the wall behind you a Gibson or Epiphone?
Dante Spencer It's neither. It's an Edwards. Better than a Les Paul
