Every time I see this particular moment on LWAN solo, it makes my arm hair stand up! It’s absolutely the best, “horse” harmonic he’s ever done! Just the incredible sound of it, “kicking in”, is like anything I’ve ever heard! I’ve often wondered if Zeke kicked in some tone booster at that moment but, whatever the case, it’s one of the coolest sounds ever! That entire solo was! Glad it was captured on film for the planet to enjoy forever!
Cameron, I am humbled by your amazing talent. This is not a dig in any way but just something I never expected; I’m learning more about how to play like Van Halen by a young man in his early 20s then I ever have by anyone else in the last 25 years I’ve been playing. Thank you for being willing to teach us. You are a good man with a good heart.
I can't believe it but... I actually learned it, it isn't perfect by any means but i did it pretty decent up to speed. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
Van halen prodigious!! Innovator, genius! He gave us new skills and challenges of virtuosity! !!! Congrast for that incredible video and lessons! ! BLESSINGS!
I used to watch Eddie's solos on VHS in slo-mo frame by frame to learn how to play. No one wants to put in the work anymore, shame. Nice playing tough Coop.
You got to 50K subscribers by the way you share licks and concepts is a way that is easy for the rest of us to understand and replicate those concepts into our own playing. I have picked up some ideas from you that I use in my playing all the time. Most guitar channels I watch don't leave me with long lasting ideas.
this has got to be the absolute best most understandable video on this ive ever seen., so glad i came across it., superb and just WOW., subscribed immediately
Impressed. With a million Van Halen instructional videos on You Tube, you have actually conquered his tone. The strat, delay, tone. Sounds exactly like him.. Slow down a hair as Ed can play fast, but never rushed. He kisses every note... Otherwise- It's a "Wow"..
Hello Cameron, I've only been playing for 3 months having really no structure until recently. Learning chordes and the fretboard. I've got the tapping section of Eruption down except for the very last part Anyways love your channel sir. I'm learning the lick on this video. The pull offs are rather difficult. Not loud. Tge hammer ons not so loud either and I'm getting calauses on the pads of my fingers. Do you have any tios for this noob?
Cameron Cooper in the thumbnail it says “2 killer Van Halen licks” it was made a year ago in the video you were using eddies bumblebee guitar and ive just always wanted to figure out how to do the first like 3 seconds of that video, thank you!
Just changed the strings for the first time on my Wolfgang mango burst when I got it and it just doesn't feel the same, sure i used the same 9-42 gauge strings. Hopefully they just need breaking in
Yamaha over the 5150? Interesting I've never been a fan of Yamaha thought they made motor cycles lol jk. Killer video as usual anything teaching Van Halen licks is always great. Thanks Cam 🔥
It's not a low friction knob on this one. But you could buy the guitar and swap it out for a bournes low friction pot which you can buy as an extra. The best solution would be to get the wolfgang special
Hey Cam,its interesting to me how you love Van Halen so much ..but what about Joe Satriani,Vinnie Moore,Hendrix,Gary Moore,Kirk Hammet,Kikko from Megadeth,Marty Friedman...i m just trying to show you there is so much more and help you in that sense cause you are great young hope for guitar. All the best from Max ,Croatia.
Thanks. I like Satriani, Hendrix, Friedman and some Gary Moore. I like bands like Alter Bridge and other more modern rock bands but I'm not fussed by guys like Kirk Hammett or really anyone from the 90s metal period like Dimebag. I play what my audience enjoy from me and maybe throw in the occasional wild card riff.
Hey, quick question about the guitar. I have the same one, but I have a problem with the tuning. When I press down (softly) on the 1st frets, I get a sharp pitch. Do you experience the same? Or did you have yours set up differently? Thanks! Awesome videos and playing!
We used to own musicman axis and a musicman van halen but got rid of them while ago... never bothered with the peavey and its waiting time for deliveries was just silly back in the late 90s...nice guitar though
Hey Cameron, It’s frustrating knowing Ed’s career of make new music is most likely over. At least the kinda music he created in the 70’s. Not a fan of his modern guitars and sound at all. Knowing his technique as you do, do you have the ability to create a new Van Halen solo that is all your own, but is done entirely by using Eddie’s technique? Perhaps in the style of Eruption. Essentially one that is your own. But one that captures the essence of what Eddie could have created. Just wondering.
Is it just me, or do all of the "Van Halen" how-to videos posted in the last 4 months seem..... charged? I can't think of the right word to describe it. It's weird to think that no one making these videos would have ever imagined that Eddie would be gone so soon.
Thanks for uploading! If you have a second, we uploaded an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music fans, we'd love if you'd take a listen. It's on our page. Don't be too tough on us :)
Congrats to being right there at the 50k mark. You deserve every support man. EVH has so many cool licks!
😎👍🤘
You don’t know how hard I’ve looked to find out how to do this
Your quest is at an end my friend
Felt this
Dude..... He is the only person I have seen on the internet teaching it. I feel you man. Thankful for Cameron's Van Halen videos
He’s the only person that can! Once in a generation kind of skill to marry it with style and REAL soul. Pretty cool to watch it happen in real time.
Cam, thank you so much for these EVH videos, NOONE else plays and teaches it like you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this Cam, Always wanted to get this down, now I can
Ever since you made that video I’ve watched him play live and learned it by ear. Now there is a great tutorial. 30 hours of my life down the drain. :)

Yes you can definitely hear EVHs classical
Baroque influences peaking through here see Randy Rhoads wasn't the only one to use em 😉
I've looked this for years. I have no words to thank You :)

Are you able to demonstrate how you play the stretchy lick that kicks off the solo to Ice Cream Man?

Great sound
Thank you Cameron , you are a great, fantastic sound. 😊👍🎸

Very impressive, thanks for posting this video. It definitely helped

Excellent, well done...THANKS!
Well done! you nailed that lick bro!
Dude you are a beast and thanks for sharing. I have bought many charvel guitars thanks to you.
Bro I love you man your awesome thank you for helping me out
Thanks for the lick run down !! Congrats on getting to 50k !!

Dudeee. amazing playing . love it. also congrats on 50k
Thank You Cam!!
Awesome stuff man!
Thanks Johnny I really appreciate it! :)
Sometimes you inspire me. Other times I feel the best thing to do is throw my axe out the window lol
Cool, from the live solo! Love the Wolfgang!
I love that guitar
You deserve more subs
Nice one Cam. Love your playing and tone. Cheers.
Love that sequence, great job man!

Great lesson Cam!
I had to learn the hard way lol I watched Eddie on DVD live with out a net like 100 times to play it and some of it by ear
In your “Van Halen tapping harmonics” video could you show us how to do the very start of that video? Like the first few seconds?thank you!
Which video are you referring to?
Cameron Cooper in the thumbnail it says “2 killer Van Halen licks” it was made a year ago in the video you were using eddies bumblebee guitar and ive just always wanted to figure out how to do the first like 3 seconds of that video, thank you!
amazing
very nice video, Cameron
Thank u
Evh has so many cool lick to learn🤟🏻
Killer, Cam!
Please make a course of your licks!!
I am thinking about putting something like that together, but there's a lot more to it than people think
@@CameronCooper be the first to do a short course!
@@methos0473 the course would be short. But it's everything that goes into it. Filming, editing, building the website, photos and payment.
Superb, as always!! Cam, do you use an audio interface to record? Could you explain the gear involved in the recording process?
A Yamaha THR30II I say in the video
You use the Yamaha directly in the pc? Nice, it sounds perfect. I thought there could be something in between lol Thanks!
Reminds me of " Those were the days my friend" by Mary Hopkins
Just changed the strings for the first time on my Wolfgang mango burst when I got it and it just doesn't feel the same, sure i used the same 9-42 gauge strings. Hopefully they just need breaking in

Wow. I saw this in his live performances and thought I was the only one who picked up and played this 😂😂
I actually know the Hot for teacher licks inside and out, so I immediately noticed the 8-7-5 pattern with a tap on the 12th fret.
You couldn't have just made this video sooner? I watched that clip a couple of thousand times last week just to nail down that particular lick. 😂
Awesome I learned play most of that by ear not as well as you I have the black and white EVH guitar I have too 👍🎸
What about the other tapping part? Not the eruption main tapping but the other tapping that goes down lower
That's very helpful... what are you referring to? I covered everything I promised in the video
@@CameronCooper There’s another tapping part in the live show where he does tapping. Right before he goes slowly and speeds up.
Hey man, that's nuts!!
Can I ask, what's your workflow liking and hook up like. How are you linking the audio up with the video from the camera?
Gold!
Thanks brooo
Cool! Thanks!!!
Killer!!!...🤙😎🤘

R.I.P. Eddie.
Yo cameron can you use this guitar for cathedral. In specific is the volume knob is a low friction knob ??
It's not a low friction knob on this one. But you could buy the guitar and swap it out for a bournes low friction pot which you can buy as an extra. The best solution would be to get the wolfgang special

I'm not sure what the problem could be my friend. Are hearing the high pitch acoustically?
Wicked!
I know this is a stupid question but would you recommend the Wolfgang guitars, just the standards at the 400 price range
Absolutely!
What type of noise gate are you using and is it set at 12 o'clock or more? Congrats on 50k!
Thank you! I'm not using a noise gate
you should get a music man axis
We had the first one to come to Europe a few years back and has since been sold. Much prefer my Charvels
@@CameronCooper dont forget the evh musicman...🤗
Best lick of the millennium
How is the guitar? And who taught YOU that lick? Thanks buddy
I taught me that lick
Thanks, but why are you always tuned half step down?
Why not be tuned like that? It is what Eddie played in most of the time. Just copy my fingers, even if you are in standard tuning.
And the harmonic in the End???
2nd fret on the G string. Apply some whammy and you got what Eddie called the horse sound
👍👍
Why do you only play charvel/evh guitars?
Because I don't want to play anything else
More how to clips :D
👍
