- I'm not sure if this is considered end of Act 2 or start of Act 3, regardless we make our escape from the Githyanki sleep ambush and into the Astral Prism. There we protect the Emperor and keep Orpheus in his place.

@@FriendlyLich , no problem and you are very welcome 🙏. I am a somewhat elderly person and BG 3 is the first RPG that I’ve played. Although I try to build my characters from UA-cam experts, I really do not understand the underlying mechanics of a D&G type of sophisticated game. I’m currently languishing in Act 3, bored and exhausted at level 11, all my party equipped to the teeth ,got Helldusk armour in Act 1 and swap it around my team as required,and still none of us do serious damage. Loved your video encounter with Orin, although I’m trying to be a constructive player, at this stage I’d gladly trade her for Dame Aylin as a companion,as both she and Isobel are seriously lacking depth of character and prowess, lol !
I really want to be able to play with some of the abilities that I see on UA-cam. I’m taking a break from it for a few days and will respec to one of your builds to see what I can do. Love your presentation style and best of luck with your channel 🍀
@@alancoffey3088 I agree that the rule-set can be quite a lot in the start. It's really a lot to dig into. Afraid that many youtube builds seem good on paper but only really shine at the very end of the game due to high end gear and such. I can at least confidently say that my Warlock and Monk builds are good. I'm planning on make a full party build video but will take awhile until that is out I'm afraid. If you want to post your party I can (try) to give you some pointers 😊

but I'm sorry, I have to say, the cinematic cut scene of the Gith monks running up to attack Orpheus' Prison, always reminds me of a scene from CATS... or maybe from Avatar.

Hey, just wanted to ask the question, how is it that you can cast a 95% hold person spell with wisdom saving throw (and these monks have high WIS value) while my cleric or druid only have 20-30% chance of landing it ?
Just wondering, I feel Im not understanding all this cast percentage fully

It is thanks to building up Arcane Acuity before casting the Hold Person spell. Each charge (we get 2 for each time we hit with our weapon) raise your Spell DC by +1. If you check 9:54 I'm switching head gear to "Helmet of Arcane Acuity" for this very reason. Hope that helps :)
Edit:
Using "Edge of Darkness" around 13:00 hits 3 targets and provide us with 6 charges followed up with 2 more attacks, yielding 10 charges which is +10 Spell DC. Next turn we lose 1 charge, hit a Githyanki twice and we're back at 10. Allowing us to cast a nasty Hold Person

One little question though: Why are your illithid markings not showing in your face? Is there a setting to not show them?
Afaik you cannot hide them/turn them off. But if you check 25:52 you can see the markings in the face. They won't show up until I ate the special tadpole.

That wasn't used here, but there's a "modless mod" on Nexus that allows you to remove the partial illithid features from your PC as well as companions, one by one. It doesn't break achievements, either.
I wouldn't use it in an honor run, though, just to be sure, especially IF it aims for the achievement and the golden dice 😅

The emperor’s ai is is awful as an ally or enemy 😅, I usually have to do all the work in my game
Emperor’s AI sucks I can’t believe he dominated two gith who were in hold person lol
I had questions on his decision making 😅
