The sun is up and now the residents of Norman, Oklahoma can start truly assessing the damage from the tornado that ripped through the area last night. Causing extensive damage to multiple homes across multiple housing complexes in the city.
Prayers 🙏
What a shame. I hope everyone is ok. Pets too.
Dear God,
Please Bless and Help these people that already live in troubled, hard times, to find strength and peace dealing with the unimaginable aftermath of something we can't even fathom or understand why you would bestow upon us.
Amen
Praying for everyone in the wake of the Tornado l💔😢🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊
Norman is a magnet for tornadoes' They have been hit so many times, and one was horribly deadly when it hit a school. Prayers for those poor people who have gone through it once only to have been hit again.
Moore: hold my beer
that's Moore, not Norman..
Sending prayers from S.E. Alaska.
@Margie Smith I wish you the best, you seem like a deeply hurt person to be tearing others down during a time of crisis for Oklahomans
Prayers going out. I consider Norman my home town although I haven't lived there in 28 years.
@Margie Smith What a mindboggling assholeish thing to say. Its a rhetorical device to express sympathy.
Our home is a mile south of this terrible tragedy, on the other side of 9 near 24th SE we are praying for all these families.
Thankfully they're brick not stucco.
scares the hell out of me that this was down the street from my house :(
Pray for them 🙏 be thankful your ok
You live in tornado ally
@@BobbyEngels-Natsariym No shit. I was born and raised here. I know that. You can still be surprised when one is that close to you.
@@Maranatha1777 Sorry but im not religious.
As humans this is so tough, but for farm animals I can't imagine how terrifying it would be.
The storage containers alone is EF3 damage I think
I disagree. Looks like straight wind damage.
Nah, ef2 at most.
upper end EF2.. Prayers for all affected.
I don't understand these stick built homes in tornado country? 2x4 walls and siding is a death trap! Why not 8 to 12 inch concrete- masonry walls reinforced with rebar? It would probably help somewhat?
Norman gets hit all the time. Tornado magnet would live there. Prayers for all involved.
This is why home insurance is so expensive in Oklahoma. This residency has never seen this kind of destruction.
My friend Chris and his family had to move like most of those hit here in East Ridge.
If I lived in oklahoma, I would be living in a concrete dome or I just wouldn't live there.
AFTER 1999, HOW CAN ANYONE LIVE IN OR NEAR OKC???
I thought only ef5s hit southern okc
Isn't that where Reed Timmer lives?
Tom Brown cover lots of different disasters Tornadoes, Hurricanes, floods , earthquakes etc! 🌪️🌀🌊🌎
Praying for all these Families who were hit with Destruction, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. 🙏🙏❤❤💔🙁
Hello again. I hope things are improving for everyone in Norman, Oklahoma. I have seen this before in Moore, Ok. when the whole community was gone except for foundations. My previous comment 4 months ago wasn’t political, these people will depend on “government agencies “ and insurance to recover. Meanwhile our government is sending Billions all over the globe! God help and bless these people. Sam isn’t!!
isn't nature strange , some home are totaled and yet some hardly have a shingle turned. strange. I wish the best for all effected by this storm
Because it's Geoengineering weather manipulation.
,🙏💔🙏
A storm is a storm a tornado is a tornado a hurricane is a hurricane a typhoon is a typhoon. Mother nature is going to be mother nature if we live in these areas we expect this to happen. Now have a plan to save you and your love ones must be priority no 1
Shut up
I have a concrete cellar under the N. end of my garage with an egress window well. I’m good!
I would recommend getting a copy of Tom Brown's the Tracker's excellent book Suburban & Urban Survival Guide! Tom was trained by an Apache Elder & Scout on Native American Survival techniques! He actually lived for 1 year in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area in Montana! He only took in 1 knife! He made all his clothes! Tom also trained US Army Rangers how to survive the Native American way! Working with not against NATURE! I gave copies of that book to most of my relatives! Highly recommend this book! 🤗🌲🌄🌲🇩🇪🇨🇭🇺🇲
Oh ok thanks for the most advanced info
Thanks capt obvious... what a brilliant observation!
What category was the tornado?😊
They don’t know until after they survey the damage. Which usually takes days.
@@Blane_be_fishin ok thanks so much
EF2 at most.
Goo building codes in OK.
A Tornado can destroy any building material in its path.
The lack of good construction standards is very apparent... older homes from the early 20th century would likely not have been as damaged.
@@tripplefives1402 yes. When you see bricks laying on styrofoam, it is pretty much a guarantee...
City inspected. Insurance inspected, loan inspected. Code tornado-proof home is a figment of your imagination.
I do agree that newer homes are not built with the quality of older homes but one of the worst parts of Joplin were homes as you described. They were destroyed. Tornadoes really don’t care what they are destroying. I think people underestimate what they can do and how big they are. Almost no homes are built to withstand a strong tornado. One of the old homes in Joplin was rebuilt to withstand and EF5. They used solid 1ft concrete walls. One of the more expensive daycares in my area was built to withstand a strong tornado without the need for them to get at the children to shelter. The windows have a power switch to cover up and hopefully it has a generator in case the power goes out but I never asked.
Okay mister know-it-all then what would you build it out of
@@zonebroszonebros8173 For starters, I wouldn't use styrofoam for sheething!
Luckyly those are only wood / cardboard constructions.
A Tornado can destroy any building material in its path.
Look like brick to me. All the houses in this area are brick besides the roof.
This is why we (USA) need to keep our money here!! The Billions sent to Ukraine would rebuild all of this without worry to any of these Americans! 🇺🇸
But then the Politicians couldn’t embezzle it or receive their kickbacks 😢they only care about Profit not Citizens 😮
Whataboutism. People died.
USA became powerful fighting wars .remember?
No, we need to keep our money here because it belongs to us. There are a billion reasons hear that the money needs to be spent on including roads and infrastructure, it's not our job to bail out everybody who loses the house because they live in the wrong part of the nation. When will people learn?
Just heartbreaking for you all, from Scotland
