Simulation of a Nuclear Blast in a Major City
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2020
- A collaboration between documentary filmmaker Neil Halloran and Nobel Peace Prize - Research and Information, this short data-driven film simulates a nuclear blast in a major city in order to tally the estimated deaths that would result. Using data from leading researchers and highlighting present day technology developments, the film illustrates the very real danger nuclear weapons still pose to humanity and life on Earth.

That hits hard. The people killed first were the luckiest
The Official Freddy Fazbear And Springtrap really does tho
Ryan Chastain-Maxey yep. Vaporization happens so fast you don’t even know when it happens. The sensory impulses can’t get to the brain fast enough before you’re vapor. You want to see something even more frightening? Look up the Soviet/Russian cobalt doomsday device, that’s believed to be still there to this day, as an insurance policy against them being nuked in a sub launched, first strike. Some believe it isn’t real, just a staged intelligence leak to scare the US, or is it?
an added personal fear is that within that radius, even your soul wouldn't survive.
Beautiful and well-made video for such a terrifying yet possible reality. The visuals that showcased the casualities on the citizens made me shiver; it's horrifying to even think about that.
An extremely well produced explanation of a nuclear scenario. This short is packed with critical details. I advise the makers of this film to send ,via any platform , to all nuclear capable countries. Thank you for your work
I'm sure the said countries are well aware of the devastating effects
Why can’t our leaders just throw hands so they’re the only casualties
because they're cowards, they need to send others to fight their wars
because that obviously wouldn't work; the first person who decides to send in an army would automatically win

I'm in a major city and probably within the 2 kilometer radius of the center and I think in such a scenario I'd really not want to be in the 2% of survivers during impact (small chance is still a chance). Depending on how much time I'd have until impact (if whatever bomb that would've been used was noticed from a distance) I'd either drive to ground 0 to be instantly vaporized or, if I have more time, drive as faar away as possible. If you in the zone of 20 psi shock-wave (for 800kt surface detonation this would be the radius of 2 km), which levels concrete buildings, yeah even going to a basement or underground shelter gives only slight chances of survival. However, for the zone of 5 psi shock-wave (2 - 4.25 km), this is really like dealing with a powerful tornado. Crawling under a desk or bed even not the first choice, is not entirely that stupid, especially considering chances are that's all there might be time for. It won't protect you from the destructive blast, if you are lucky it might offer some hope for collapse though. In any case for sure, it is better than nothing.
There is an online tool allowing calculating zones for different strength warheads:

Not “hundreds of times”.

True very informative
Truly
Content is important. The title is "nuclear blast". "A nuclear explosion is an explosion that occurs as a result of the rapid release of energy from a high-speed nuclear reaction". Blasts can be created with non-nuclear weapons. If the yield is comparable then the same destruction would be created. It's unlikely that many people would die because of being exposed to small amounts of radiation, they're more likely to die because of stress and lack of infrastructure.
Nuclear weapons are not dangerous. People are dangerous. We haven't stopped using dynamite despite its ability to take lives. Stop advocating for a ban against nuclear weapons and advocate against war if you really want to prevent situations like in the video. So you manage to prevent a country from getting nuclear materials, they'll just spend resources on building non-nuclear weapons or worse, bio. All banning people from having something does is create resentment. If you can't have healthy relationships with people then maybe you're the one who shouldn't have any weapons.

Also Albert einstein I help make big bomb
Just imagine what people who died and survived the Nuclear attack in Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have gone through..
A nuclear bomb being dropped on their city
i think descendants of those people still have health complications too
@Orewa Ren don't forget the vietnam war too 😌 shit sux
One of the old air force base commanders my mom worked for his grandfather dropped one of those bombs
i think theres an animation ill go quickly check
Fantastic analysis and simulation
It's interesting how nuclear bombs have stopped wars from occurring but could also trigger thee nd of the world
No one should ever have this kind of power.
Tell that to Putin and trump

@@creditgamerpants6106 Add The UK, France, Israel, China and North Korea for a total of 9,335 ACTIVE nuclear warheads which are all more likely 5-10 times more powerful than those dropped at Hiroshima in 1945. On top of that, you may also add an approximate amount of 4,555 Nuclear warheads that have been retired but are still intact.
Please note, this info is as of May 2019.
@@creditgamerpants6106 😁 Pakistan has more wepens then india 😁 even it side if Small then India
Together, India and Pakistan possess 2% of the world's nuclear arsenal: India is estimated to have around 140 nuclear warheads, while Pakistan is estimated to have around 160.
"Man invented the atomic bomb, but no mouse in the world would construct a mousetrap"

wasn't Albert literally the guy who made it xD
Stormops no he thought it was impossible to take the energy of the neucleus
@@kafta9915 i'm pretty sure he discovered the formula for it unless my school is lying to us which would be weird because its an easy thing to search up and check on the internet ;/

Stormops idk dude but I just found a video on vers channel saying how Albert thought the nuclear bomb was impossible
Man this was mind blowing
It was a blast

"So we'll go with a relatively small number of deaths."
Deaths: 100,000
When you’re comparing it to half a million deaths it isn’t that large
When you put it in the grand scheme of things, it's not that many
I commented this then scrolled down and saw this lol sorry
I mean to be fair, that is literally the definition of relatively.
@@plugshirt1684 do you know what "relatively" means?
Two minutes in, and I already know being evaporated is the best choice in this.
Something like that. If it is all out TNW, we all loose. Sun will be blocked for years. No water or food would end life of mankind. Nature will not repeat itself and therefore no Darvin. The answer is we did see to that noone else ruled the earth and we are to blame for our own ixtintion.

I’d much rather get instantly disintegrated than deal with the radiation poisoning or live in a nuclear war filled world
I agree.
Just play some fallout, its not that bad

@Miller Time I know what you mean. No one really "wins" a nuclear war.
@Miller Time a different world to be precise.and this simulation showed an unrealistically low powerful nuclear weapon.these need strong defence and authority to be held and no country is going to keep such "lower" ones.they will be having extremely powerful warheads that can disintegrate everything on hit and it wont take 50
