so another way you can fix that broken line in the blue film, is scrap area to expose as you did, then put flux on it, then liquid solder and use heat gun and the solder will attach to the area you want, this stops any soldering iron mistakes. Done this few times on these blue vw films and worked really well.
I was always proud that my 1986 WV Jetta had a blue LED on the dash, and now it turns out it was just a bulb! Did think it was a bit early for blue LEDs!
Just watching your video intently as I'm having the same issue on my 83 Scirocco mk2, not sure I'm as brave as you are with a soldering iron! The other problem is I'm in the UK 🇬🇧 but if you're ever over here....... 😂
Eric Hearon did you by chance disconnect the battery before pulling apart the dashboard? The wires behind the hazard switch are very easy to mistakenly touch together and cause a blown fuse. I would check all your fuses, especially the hazard flasher fuse and left/right turn signal fuse.
@@clintonlouw Certain parts of it could be, without a doubt; but to replace the whole board with wires would be quite an undertaking. I could see adding a wire if a trace was broken (like in the video) just to bypass a break, but more than this would seem (to me) to have very little benefit.

That's a great suggestion, and it would definitely work really well!

Any idea why temp led blinking? On spare one doesnt blink.
is there any schematic wiring diagram or datasheet to follow to troubleshoot the instrument circuit board?
Hey could you maybe tell me what the resistance value is of the first resistor after voltage stabilizer
My golf 1 speedometer is not working what can i do my speed meter is not working
So I just watched your video and I tried to fix it myself and I did but then I put it back together and the turn signal light would always stay on

How can i contact you?
plese can you give the circuit shema of this cluster (GTD 2 VW) i need it for school project
I'm sorry, I don't have the schematic readily available, and I don't think I'd be able to quickly draw one up based on the circuit itself :-(
