There are NO bad songs from The Cure. Their music is timeless.
Their live concerts are legendary, they play for hours its always a party, his wife always says to Robert "sing well tonight" they have been married since they were teenagers, the fact that he has worn makeup and backcombed his hair nearly from start of the cure means he can get away with living normally without a second glance as without the makeup no one knows him, he's 60 now and the band are fantastic ♥
They've been together since they were 14, but they didn't get married until around 29? It was during the recording of Disintegration.
I need to go
I've seen an early video of them without him in make up (UA-cam)- I never would've guessed it was him!
When I see people reacting to and enjoying The Cure, halfway through I always realize I have a big, dumb grin of happiness on my face. I love that they still perform and sound just as great over 3 decades later, and that they are still getting new fans.
I was at this show!!! It was their 40th anniversary concert at Hyde Park in London. It was an amazing show, the sunset during their set was magical and they were so happy during the whole thing. I do believe it was sold out and it was super hot that day. I've been to a handful of Cure concerts over the years and they always put on a very good show, but there was something that was just so special about this show. They're currently touring the US now and I caught them in Seattle. This current tour feels a little bittersweet, almost like they are somehow saying goodbye. I hope their newest album does actually come out in October, the new songs they played are very emotional, introspective and powerful. I'm so happy you've liked everything you've heard of this wonderful band, they've been my favorite all time band for over 30 years and I always love to see people falling in love with their music like I did.
This was the 40th anniversary show at Hyde park in London. 60,000 people were there.
I just looked at the Rolling Stone article about the show and they said 65,000 we're there
Was this the Hyde show? I thought is was Glastonbury Festival?
Tremendous band live, so professional with so much energy and they're having fun and interacting with the crowd, Robert Smith is brilliant
By far my favorite band & these are 2 of their best songs! Been to 5 concerts & loved every minute.
I've been to 2 CURE concerts and we stood up and sang every song and danced the whole time. It was a blast. Robert Smith is a great performer.
Yip I've been listening to the cure since my dad brought Three imaginary boy's in 1979 9 years old and to finely see them with dad 72 years old and me 50 was a real blast my dad hates to admit it but he started me on my punkrock journey which I'm still traveling on before my teens when me and my younger sister would stay weekends with dad in his record collection i had albums that to this day are my FAVOURITE of all time .,. THE RAMONES first album THE CLASH give em enough rope London calling THE B52s Devo The SPECIALS
BAD MANNERS. MADNESS
ADAM AND THE ANTS
THE BEAT
ELVIS COSTELLO
AND EVERY BOWIE album . When my ex wife gave birth to our first a boy we already had his first name sorted before he was born but what about a middle name? I was sitting in the hospital room with Moana and our two day old boy Strummer and dad walks in and says if Strummer is his first name CLASH should be his middle name and so it is Strummer Clash Palace now a tall lanky 15 year old half cast Maori English Smartass
I love this band so much. I love The Cure ♥️🏆🏴🤗
I just started listening to The Cure at age 58 and you’re right, the SOUND they make is very appealing.
Me my partner and my dad saw The Cure in Auckland Aotearoa new zealand a cupple of years ago they were on stage for around three hours of TOTAL AWESOMENESS
3? Wow.
I was there too! Best night of my life!
@@bookshelvesNZ it definitely was up there in the top twenty gigs I've been to but that's not taking away anything from the cure it's just that I've seen THE RAMONES . THE CRAMPS. SOUND GARDEN TWICE. THE PIXIES TWICE DAVID BOWIE... DAVID BYRNE'S...TOOL... THE BREEDER'S THE SEX PISTOLS AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER BAND'S IN MY SHORT 52 YEARS ON STARSHIP EARTH
@@Roddy1965 3 hours is nothing my favourite Kiwi band and top five from anywhere STICKY FILTH routinely do 3 and a half hour set's without leaving the stage and they are a three piece power house
@@heathcornbeef yeah, I've been a fan since the early 80s and this was a bucket list gig for me. Worth travelling up from the S Island. Hope to see them again one day.
No other channel is out here reacting to The Cure, especially the live versions. I adore you for this!!!
Live at the Hyde Park in london. (2018)
For the 40th anniversary. The Cure played in front of 65.000 people.
So glad that black folks are enjoying the cure. Simply the GREATEST band ever. They rule the live concert stage...power, poise, perfect!!!!!
incredible live - if you get a chance you have to see them
I've been a fan since 1982 it's nice to see people more accepting of their music now it wasn't like that back then
This is my favourite song to play when driving a car, it’s got such a great upbeat tempo to it, it just puts you into driving mode. The Cure are the best, nobody comes close to them in my opinion.
Buildup.....you are right on with that. Live shows are mostly instruments leading into lyrics minutes later. It is why they are so loved. No two shows are ever the same. They are well known for doing extended versions of songs on a whim.
I was there with 64999 other souls. Hyde park in London for the 40th Anniversary of the band.
I've seen them 5 times over the decades and it's always a packed house. Push is one of my fav songs. Have you heard Catch?
Saw them in Pittsburgh in 95 with my fiancee who has sinced passed on of cancer. I have a special request for her, the song is called Just Like Heaven. Thank you
It's so cool you love The Cure 🖤 Robert Smith is a genius 🙌🏻 My fave of their live shows is when they played Disintegration at the Sydney Opera House, for the album's 30th anniversary 🖤🖤🖤 Especially the intro build up on Utube 🙌🏻✨ You look so happy in this vid. Thank you!
Man, I love people reacting to my favourite ones. Cure is top notch.
If you dig this Push version check out Live In Orange, man. The version is pure gold, and the slam dance. The slam dance.
Greetings from Zapopan, Mexico.
Respect.
Just pure joy watching you react to the cure! Love them with all my heart but no one I know likes them 😢. I’d line to. See how you’d go with one of their earlier darker ones like cold or faith!
I remember the conversations with my kids (in HS) in the car about this song: "dad!! Isn't this the 3-way song??"
To see The Cure live is amazing, this long time fan was selected in the ballot to see them perform 30th Anniversary Disintegration Concert in Sydney Opera House in 2016. I was there for the Saturday night performance 12 rows from the stage front and centre. The band is known for it's generosity and they decided to live stream an extra gig free for all to watch. I can relive a bucket list concert again and again. Robert Smith is a rare find and can't wait for their new album and tour later this year. Sydney concert in HD as follows: ua-cam.com/video/PbAU3CmbW1U/v-deo.html
Was the show in 2016 or 2019?The 30 year anniversary would have been 2019.
@@PROGROCK-tr9hw sorry, my mistake. The show I saw was May 25 2019.
Inbetween Days is one of my favorites, very very close to the top for me of this, my favorite band. Depending on my mood - or sometimes at the same time - it makes me want to dance or cry.
They were the first proper concert I even went to and had to break military regulations to travel far enough off post with friends to go... I've now seen 4 total times and in October in Denmark I'm going for my 5th!
So I'm sitting here on my lunch break watching your video and I'm having the same reaction to Push as I did when I first heard it when it was released, my feet just want to get up and dance!!!
One of my favourite songs of all time 🖤
The cure was the back bone of goth in the 80s. They were the Zeppelin of their day. They were magnificent!!! Sincerely an 80s kid.....✌️
They can still put 50,000 fans in seats anywhere in Europe and on both coasts in the U.S.A.
One thing you'll notice about Cure fans. Such loyal people. Has so much to do with the longevity of The Cure. Al ot think they r dark but they inspire me with their poetry. You'll never go wrong with Cure reactions.
Always
oh how I love "Push" ... thank you! Glad to see you enjoying The Cure. I saw them at Dodger Stadium in 1989, what a crowd...
I was fortunate enough to see them in the 80's 90's and in 2001. All great shows but the one in the 90's in Dallas was the best. I took my sceptical sister to that one. All she could say on the ride home was "I had no idea they were that good!" I loved it.
Great reaction.
I love that you love the long intros....You are a real fan. Period.
you just seem so optimistic and I really appreciate your reactions. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
The Head on the Door is my fave album. I wore that tape out!
Bro your killing it. The Cure has been my favorite band for 35 years and it's an honor to hear you cover them. Your a great man. I want merchandise from you. Shoot me a link. Thank you.
Took my mum to see them in manchester just a couple of months before the bombing. They were amazing.
Watched the whole video till the very end. Nailed it!
I was there brilliant day 2018 London
Your reactions r very good and pure. Ty
Outstanding in concert. One the best , so many sounds.
Hello from a Cure fan in Canada 🇨🇦
Great I love The Cure and what you have to say about them, have a great year Adogg!
I've seen them live four times, the first time in 1992 - and they never disappointed. Just right as a band - and Robert sounds the same now as he did back then.
You still need to react to “Love Cats”, their biggest commercial hit.
With all due respect, The Love Cats is nowhere near their biggest commercial hit. A good song? Absolutely.
The awesomeness that is The Cure
Amazing band live or not - 1000% amazing band
If only tonight we could sleep “live” The Cure
The Cure were the best thing at the last Glastonbury. Timeless music from near 40 year ago.
Good song selections.
I think this is at the Mad Cool festival in Madrid, Spain. I was uttterly smashed but they wioke me up!
My roommate listen to them a lot in high school. Great group.
Great reactions Adogg!
I don't know a better band with their build ups.... But they are my favorite band. So glad you enjoy them.
One of my all time favourite songs! ☺️
Okay; two of them^^
YES YES and YES!!! Many KUDOS for giving this a listen!!!
I am so happy you like them
I bet you never thought you'd love Goth Rock.
Best music ever; the cure
The Cure are 60 years old talented musician playing for 2H30/3hours long set for each concerts during stadium world tour..... when young artist were complaining for 1h/1H30 long set......
The Cure es inmortal
Gracias
need to listen also to the version from 2002 warmup concert for Berlin the Kiss
Very Good
Cool!
Every song as you've noticed, has an outstanding intro. I don't know of another band that takes as much care of song starts as the main body of the song. I thought their 2019 Glastonbury concert was one of the best I've ever seen and there have been many great ones. Burn, Last Dance and the epic Disintegration in particular but too many to mention.
Have you listened to Friday I'm In Love by these guys.
THE CURE are the best band of the world... even after 40 years ...
need to listen to the Faith version from rome 1989 - dedicated to the victims in China Square and also the Rome 89 Version of a Forest best Intro and strong base
❤
Keep on reacting to they live performances, please check The Cure in Orange 1986 live show, it's one of the greatest, u could check it from start to finish, but it's nearly 3 hours long , lol , or check A Forest , One Hundred Years , Sinking , Faith..
I was there....!!!
Nice evening..........
Love to see all The Cure ❤️ please react to a Bjork human behavior ❤️
best band ever
They inspired Nine inch nails . . .
Not only, there's tons of 90s bands inspired by The Cure
@@david_post_punk NIN has been the most vocal about it. Also I agree with you.
M A J O R C O O L !
song sounds very Coldplay
😂🤣
I mean, it was written 16 years before Coldplay's first album...
@@zoeherriot of course. The Cure are unique and original. I just noticed some slight similarity between this song's opening and Coldplay's sky full of stars.
Chris Martin has acknowledged that the Cure inspired him. If you listen to Coldplay’s Birds the beginning sound exactly like the start of Close to Me. Close to me was written 30 years prior to Birds.
@richardaltomare2924 oh yeh I know they predate most people who sound like them at times, apart from maybe U2, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Bauhaus
THeir concerts great. They have a vast collection of songs and they play for hours. Even did 2 encores but Robert did throw his guitar on the floor at the end. Last song didn't go so well.
I was at the Dodger stadium show. 40,000 strong. Amazing band.
I was at the Dodger Stadium show too!!! hey neighbor! lol...
I've got to BRAGG my boss just got me and my partner tickets to THE PIXIES at the end of the year YEEEHÀAA i take back everything BAD I've said about his MISMANAGEMENT AND TIME WASTING
It not the Cur.
