I am Russian and I was pleasantly surpriced visiting America(Texas). People were so nice to me, curious about Russia, my impressions etc. I expected people to be less genuine but they are great people, maybe it's just a Texas thing but our chemistry was amazing.

As a European is it always refreshing to meet American and how they stand in life, but I would never actually consider moving to the USA.
In Canada we have a chain called Shoppers Drug Mart. It’s a pharmacy store that also sells food, tech stuff like cameras and video games, has a cosmetics department that also sells perfumes, and you guessed it. They also do photos :)

I used to work as "Work and travel" student too but on the west coast in Rhode Island,where I met also very nice people and I must highly recommend this small state for a trip.
