  • Sup!
My name is Jacob McDonald and I want to welcome you to my UA-cam channel.
In this series of videos I take you through my gynecomastia surgery and post-surgery recovery journey.
My story goes like this. I developed gyno through the onset of puberty at around 12 years old and dealt with the sh*t that came with it for 15 long years.
That included various levels of bullying throughout my school years, never feeling comfortable without my shirt on and an extreme anxiety surrounding wearing anything that wasn't dark in colour because all I could ever focus on was my nipples.
It wasn't until I started going to the gym regularly at around 18 years old that I decided to do some research and figure out exactly what this was, why I had it and what I could do about it.
I eventually found out about gynecomastia surgery not long after that and due to my particular case not improving or changing at all since developing it at 12 years old I knew that if I wanted to fix this properly I would one day need to get this surgery.
The surgery was always out of reach due to the price and I also began to just live with it and accept my body. However my love for bodybuilding and training in the gym grew over the next few years and at the age of 24 I competed in my first bodybuilding show.
I can safely say that at this point I was living life without too much of a worry because I had learned to accept it which comes with age and maturity, but certainly still lived with the anxiety around wearing light coloured clothing etc.
I reduced my body fat down to single digits for the first time in my life at this point and realised that I may have what people might describe as a "minor" case of gyno but in my mind, it was even more pronounced.
I knew that if I wanted to get back on a bodybuilding stage one day that I would need to get the surgery done.
I was eventually able to find a surgeon that offered a drastically reduced price due to the surgery being covered somewhat by Medicare which is Australia's version of government subsidised health care.
I finally decided to book the surgery and in November of 2017 at 26 years of age I had the procedure done.
My recovery was a rocky one. It tested me mentally like I had never been tested before and through that I decided to bring my experience to my UA-cam channel.
That was one of the toughest things I've ever done but it did help me due to the support I received at the time and now has also gone on to help thousands of other men dealing with the same issues I faced.
I faced depression, anxiety, regret, disbelief, and many more emotions throughout the recovery process but managed to stay strong and if there is one thing I can say with the upmost confidence as I sit here today, that would be that the surgery was still worth it.
I want you to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing a surgeon, preparing your body prior to surgery and looking after it after surgery. Do what I say, not what I did.
I've made a video playlist on my UA-cam channel titled "GYNECOMASTIA" for you to find easily.
Thanks for watching my video and have a great day!

I just had my gyno surgery a few hours ago. I thought i was going to get drains but surprisingly i didn’t i just have the bandages and vest on. I believe it’s because i got in the best shape in my life so it made it easy for the doc to jus take out the glands without anymore removal of tissue ig idk to be honest. the pain isn’t crazy right now yes i do feel soreness but nothing crazy the vest is itchy but its bare able. I am so happy its done! everybody with gyno should get surgery man its not fair having to have to live with that. WE ARE MEN. and for us not to be able to do something as natural as take off our shirt is un called for. Keep me in ur prayers

1- Don’t lie on your side
2- Don’t worry about your drains coming out (don’t hurt)
3- Keep the vest for 3 weeks at least
    4- Get the hematomas drained
    5- Remain positive

I just had my surgery yesterday for a pretty minor case. I’m 18 and have never had any kind of surgery before. Although I have a lot of friends and have stayed confident throughout my life, gyno has always held me back in certain areas. I was incredibly nervous for this surgery but it ended up being very easy. Hardly any pain and a great nap was all I’ve had so far. Tomorrow I get my bandages off and I get to see how it went. These videos helped me tremendously leading up to my surgery and I want everyone to know that you can do it. Don’t let your body define who you are as a person.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a shitty surgeon, who ever he is, he needs to be reported. Your advice is well received. As men it sucks that just do the "guy thing" where we usually just ignore what we're dealing with. I've had man-tits for as long as I can remember and I can't beging to explain how big of a negative effect it had on me. My tips would be around diet:
    -Drink lots of water
    -Minimize salt & sugar intake
-Remove alcohol. drugs & processed foods entirely
-Reduce carbohydrate intake overall as you won't be doing much during recovery.
-Take a high quality multivitamin & fish oil supplement (make sure you have plenty of magnesium, Vitamin D, Vitmain K1&2 (taken alongside meals with healthy fats e.g. avocados, salmon, walnuts etc)
-Added in some collagen supplements if you can.
The overlooked key to recovery is what we put in our mouths everyday.

I owe a massive thank you to you, for the time and courage it took to post these videos, it has helped SO many people, so I think there is a bit of silver lining to be found there. Anyway, I am hoping for a quick recovery. Blood from the drains have significantly reduced since yesterday (day of op), from 30ml down to 10ml. I had my surgery about 3 weeks ago in Egypt with a surgeon that he’s specialized in removing it for bodybuilding athletes. Due to the hormones they take, they develop larger breast. I had drains but apparently one was clogged which caused hematoma. I went to the surgeon and he had it drain , made me keep the drains 3 more day and he re stitch the nipple area. Im back to US , after 10 days , I still have a small puffiness in the same side. I don’t know if I have to drain it again and let it heal on its on. Of course in the beginning I had bruises through my arm on my chest, but now they’re going away on my arm is completely clear just like nothing. Today is the 27th and i had the surgery on the 10s . I'd say keep losing weight. If there are hard lumps under the nipple you will need this surgery. If it is just fat (also known as pseudo-gynocomastia) I'd say don't get surgery, because it will go away by losing weight. Whether it is real gyno or pseudo-gyno can be confirmed using an ultrasound. You should consult an endocrinologist for that and they will confirm. If you go directly to a surgeon they might not be completely truthful because they are looking for any excuse to get you into surgery.

I have my surgery plus liposuction on my abdomen next week. Not a big fat guy. 6’3” 245.
I’ve had this crap ever since I was 12. I used to almost look respectable by doing a lot of bench press when I was younger. I’m old now (50) plus injured and can’t workout like I used to and my chest turned into straight up tits. It’s nasty.
This is going to suck. Wasn’t nervous before but after reading about the damn drains and bruising it sounds like an ordeal.
The worst part is I’ve concocted what I know to be a terrible plan of hiding the whole damn thing from my wife I’m so embarrassed. She’d also likely think I’m a silly old man for doing this at my age. But she has no idea the hell this has caused me over the years and now it’s worse than ever.
Going to crash at my buddy’s unused vacation house after the surgery for a few days. Just got to hide those damn drains from her for a couple days when I get back, but the bruising will be hard to conceal and not slip up and let her catch me with my shirt off at some point. Hoping she will just think I lost weight. Wish me luck…..like I said I know it’s a shitty plan, but it’s the best I can come up with. Good luck to you all.

I had my surgery 4 weeks ago today, really happy with the results although I do have small lumps and bumps under the skin where the surgery incisions were and around the nipple. Is this just scar tissue? I also have a bit of fat going up towards the armpit area but I am a little overweight at the moment so I’ve started to diet and exercise so hopefully this will go.
    Any feedback would be appreciated!

    So my recovery update:
Had my gynecomastia surgery in Turkey last week. Initially the doc in London said I needed gland removal.
Once my surgery was over, the doc told me he didn’t remove any gland and that Vaser liposuction was sufficient.
It’s abit strange but anyways my chest is flat now. I have loads of swelling around my armpit section compared to the chest. ..I have only 2 stitches, both on the side of my chest.
The annoying part is having to wear this vest. It’s itchy, tight and very uncomfortable. I’m making sure to get a few stretches and massages in.
I am allowed to take my vest off in 4 weeks...gym can resume in 3 weeks... and I believe light cardio in week 2.
This is a lovely platform for us to share the recovery! Good luck everyone !

I just don’t know where to begin. Do I visit a normal doctor first and ask them? Also I’m worried about post surgery. I'm not sure what a regular doctor would do for you other than diagnose it as gynaecomastia (as opposed to just chest fat). Google the best clinics offering the surgery that are local to you, and make sure you check they're officially registered surgeons in your country who are licensed to do this properly; the last thing you want is some no-name cowboy ruining your body for a discount. It's better to pay twice the amount and know you're being taken care of, so don't go cheap just because it's quicker - this will serve you for years to come. Make sure you get to see photos of other customers before and after the procedure so you have an idea of the kind of work they're doing. And, as Jacob stressed, don't cut corners with the healing process either. Make sure you ask upfront what the recovery process is like, and avoid anyone telling you to wear the compression vest for only one week after surgery. If you get any intuition they're rushing or they have a 'meh' attitude, avoid them and search elsewhere until you feel confident about what you're doing.

Dude making this surgery as if he has gone the C-section and birthed a child. I wonder what grade his gyno was. I wanna debunk following
1-He said you can't turn side: After my surgery, I almost was five hour on side. No problem.
2-He said he was attached drain: Again no idea what kind of stupid doctor did his surgery. After my surgery I had no drain. right after the surgery I was like nothing had happened. No pain. No vomiting.
3-He was pretty dumb and as his doctor said to not wear the west I can see how cheap and inexperienced doctor he went. Mine suggested me to wear at least six week. 3 week 24 hour and 3 week at least 12 hour.
4-Fact that his doctor didn't drain hematoma is pretty much you can understand how dumb his surgeon was.
Here is my take after I did surgery
1-Its not big surgery: Its minor surgery. It is done under local anaesthesia. its painless surgery. You will be awake whole time.
2-After surgery, you will might feel small nuesia but you can drink lot of water it will be wear off
3-After dressing, wear the compression west as soon as possible. take smaller size as possible. I am XL but I took M size. just wear it and forget it for next five day. He did not mention the any supplement medicine. take Antibiotic, Multivitamin and digestion pills for five day. and Pain killer, since your west is very tight, you won't feel any healing pain too but its better take two time the painkiller
4-Five days after you can open your west and see the stitched would be 60% already healed. Now you can take bath or sponge bath avoid the sticht around nipple . then you can clean the stiches with spirit and use ointment and healing cream put the cotton and do dressing and then again wear west. forget again the west for two days.
There would be no seroma (Water builtup) and Hematoma (Blood built up) like his case.
Don't do any exercise for one month.
    Most importantly
DON'T EVER GO TO DUMB DOCTOR. I REPEAT NEVER otherwise you will end up like him. Go to very good plastic surgeon.
If you have any question write me up. I will try to reply.

    Update*
I’ve got the surgery done. I’m home resting, pain/discomfort a 3/10. Feel great, better than I expected
What up y’all, I’ve BEEN wanting to get the surgery done for a few years now. Finally saved enough money for it and planning on getting it done. Summer is right around the corner so not sure if to pull the trigger now or wait till after. I live in California and the heat can be deadly sometimes. Idk how I’d feel wearing a vest for weeks during summer.
Questions I have for those who have gotten it done.
    1. Whats the average time for recovery ?
    2. How long till you can get back in the gym? training with weights ex: squats, bench press, deadlifts etc
    3. How long is the surgery ?
    Thanks :)

Amazing, if you're up for trying a relatively a new method that makes the process a whole lot easier, and get a flat strong chest within 30 days or less, just go ahead and go’ogle Baker Henistole.

Hi, did you finally go ahead and read Baker Henistole's suggestions a fair shot? Maybe try go’ogling him, if you're tired of having to go through a grueling workout regime for months without results. It's natural, of course, and it can be done in 30 days.
