In Pokemon Empire (fangame) Ice is SE against water and resists it, not the other way around Water is still really good, but it is a significant buff to ice
Kingler’s Gen 1 Crabhammer is deceptively strong despite the base 50 special. Outside of OHKOing Rhydon, it has a chance to 3HKO Snorlax (which is important vs Reflect sets) and chunks Gengar pretty hard on the switch, too.
Lavos had a massive skill issue. Waterfall didn’t even flinch 3 times in a row, it only flinched 3 out of the five times used, which while stunning, isn’t a huge surprise given the whole 20% flinch Chance. The fact he decided to switch in his Gyrados first for some godforsaken reason just demonstrates his complete stupidity. After +1, if Jirachi had a choice scarf, it would outrun and KO the Gyrados by turn 2 before it could either get another Dragon Dance or attack. Jirachi would also live a +1 Waterfall, so that’s not a good excuse either. Lavos misplayed at the worst possible moment, and paid the price.
@@egbertmilton4003 When you see the rare Gyarados lead in DPP it's usually Choice Band, because trying to set up with a lead is inherently inconsistent with an entire team of unknown Pokemon that can potentially answer it. Especially since DD doesn't actually gain attack because of Intimidate, so even in the rare case the Gyara DDs, the opportunity cost of scouting this is usually not too high (Jirachi would've been a fine answer into DD Gyara once DD was revealed, barring the flinch that happened, AND Breloom would've been fine too barring Gyara running Lum Berry). If you switch Jirachi in immediately you will get it chunked for most of its HP from CB Waterfall or EQ most of the time. I feel like Amnesia was MADE for Slowbro in gen 1, not only does it make sense for one with a unique mind such as that to have a move where it just forgets what's going on, the fact it buffs the special pairs really well with its high defence, so if it gets off some Amnesia's, enemies have to choose between attacking its better defensive stat or attacking its boosted stat. Doesn't necessarily make it the best abuser of it, obviously. But it does feel like every benefit of it comes in handy for Slowbro, like even its low speed means it's less likely to gen 1 crit and thus cancel out the amnesia boosts for its hit.

Water should definitely get a weakness to poison. Like, pollutions much more damaging to animals living in the water, and the whole ecosystem of the water environments. The fact poison is only super effective against two types is criminal. And I know poison used to be good against bug, but I am more happy to see big spared from more weaknesses. Poison being good against water, grass and fairy is a good resume. It has good offensive output while still not being the greatest offensive typing, allowing it’s good defensive qualities to shine in turn
The weaker types should all get moves that hit at least their usual resists super-effectively. Bug should get one for each of its resists, even if it doesn't make sense.

Hello Jimothy Cool. I do not know when we would expect a video on Electric Types in Competitive Pokemon, but I would like to submit a request for you to talk about my favourite fellow Pincurchin. Pincurchin is a new Pokemon from the Generation 8 games, who has the rare ability to set Electric Terrain upon switching in. In a generation devoid of Tapu Koko for some time, this was an exceptional tool and carved out a niche for itself with this and Rising Voltage, a funny move that doubled in power in Electric Terrain. In Generation 9, Pincurchin also used this ability to great effect with the introduction of the Iron Paradox forms, enabling their Quark Drive ability. Retaining access to Scald as well as having reliable recovery made this little guy exceptional. Please do not look at its tier in either of these generations, please, and believe me when I say this electric urchin is a wonderful Pokemon and worthy of your attention. Thank you.
