I purchased a used Dunnet Gergo Berlei bronze snare. Like some drummers out there, I changed the snare wires, the batter and snare side head. I had such a hard time getting the throw off back together that I was about to put it up for sale on reverb. Your video was very helpful with assembling the R4 throw off. Thank you sir.
I purchased this strainer & butt plate, and I got a custom drum made using these parts. The place where I had them installed, did not follow this pattern you showed on this video, but the sound of the snare still turned out great. It looks like a real tedious job to do which may be the reason why it was never installed the way you did it. I guess that they never worked with this mechanism before, but who knows. I’m still happy with the results of my snare.
Thank you for posting this video. I have a Dunnett Titanium and the wires dont lay flat. I had them on wrong :) so thank you for taking the time to post this. It helped me.
Great vid! I just got one and installed it. How smooth is the swivel action typically? Mine seems very stiff, no matter how much I loosen the hex bolt to adjust the friction.
It's grosgrain ribbon. It comes in a bunch of colors and is available at Wal-Mart and any craft store. The 5/8" is the best width to use. It's 100% polyester and works great.

Thank you mark!! 🙏🥁🥁🥁
If you’re familiar with how difficult these Dunnett systems are to setup, the first 6m20s of this is a brilliant piece of comedy.

My Ddrum Vinnie Paul snare came with a R4 throw off and it’s the best throw off I’ve ever seen!!!
Nice. They are super super cool!! I love them!

Your welcome thanks for watching!

You need to adjust the tightening of the round collar with an Allen wrench. Mine was also tight, but it eventually broke in. Now it's smooth as glass.
What straps are you using? Great Vid!
