    Changing snare wires is one of the most mundane things in the world for me; I'm genuinely impressed with Nick just for keeping his cool haha.

    An important detail to add, the snares have two sides , the snare bracket soldered side, and snare bracket unsoldered, or smooth side
    Typically the soldered side is against the head, however, some bracket manufacturers, have a slight pitch, some are flat

    Thanks for this! I have a ludwig acrolite with P85 strainer and the plastic ribbon slips/moves at the butt end (screws are as tight as can be). So I can't put the snares on as tight as I'd like. Known issue? fixes for it?

      The metal piece that the screws tighten into might be bent, that was the cause on my sonar force 3000 snare from the 80s

    I'm having a problem when I switch off the snares ther is a buzz when I hit the drum. Is that supposed to happen?

    • @ewanwickward8587
      @ewanwickward8587 Рік тому +2

      In my experience, it usually means that you have the wires angled too tight to the drum. You DON'T need to take the wires off, but there should be a knob next to the throw-off instead. Find whichever way 'loosen' is on your drum, and adjust it to your liking.
      (Hope this still helps, I see this is a few months old :)

    Wondering what that piece of fabric/cloth was between the snare wires & bottom head?

    • @adamnagy2166
      @adamnagy2166 Рік тому

      That was most likely there to negate the buzz from the wires in general as this was a shelf stored snare, which you don't want buzzing in case anything happens in the room
