Add some snap to your snare with upgraded wires! Nick D. walks us through the install 🥁
Changing snare wires is one of the most mundane things in the world for me; I'm genuinely impressed with Nick just for keeping his cool haha.
Nick is by far the BEST investment sweetwater could’ve ever made.
I could listen and learn with Nick all day.
I've been playing drums for 16 years and didn't know I needed this video ... thank you Nick!
Can't believe I wasted 1,5 hours of my life that I'll never get back, trying to get figure it out and get this right, for whatever reason. Yet, this video helped me do it in under ten minutes. Thanks so much!
I just had to replace the wires on my snare for the first time. And this video helped me out tremendously. Thank you so much to whoever you are.
Always love this guy nick when he explains thing ... Very detail 👍🏻
I love that classic Jon Lovitz is teaching us how to repair drums :D
An important detail to add, the snares have two sides , the snare bracket soldered side, and snare bracket unsoldered, or smooth side
Typically the soldered side is against the head, however, some bracket manufacturers, have a slight pitch, some are flat
Thank you so much
Do one with the wires version please. 🙏
Thanks for this! I have a ludwig acrolite with P85 strainer and the plastic ribbon slips/moves at the butt end (screws are as tight as can be). So I can't put the snares on as tight as I'd like. Known issue? fixes for it?
The metal piece that the screws tighten into might be bent, that was the cause on my sonar force 3000 snare from the 80s
very good!
Have you ever heard of the close up shot?? Can’t see the important details that I was seeking
Is there a top and bottom of the wire? What side goes up? Not showing someone who never did properly.
Never knew snare drums had wires
So do bras.
thank god, without em every song would sound like st anger
thatßs why snare drums are called snare drums
How about Dyna-sonic snare wires?
I'm having a problem when I switch off the snares ther is a buzz when I hit the drum. Is that supposed to happen?
In my experience, it usually means that you have the wires angled too tight to the drum. You DON'T need to take the wires off, but there should be a knob next to the throw-off instead. Find whichever way 'loosen' is on your drum, and adjust it to your liking.
(Hope this still helps, I see this is a few months old :)
I have this very specific problem, the tensión rod of the wire doesnt work, it doesnt spin
Wondering what that piece of fabric/cloth was between the snare wires & bottom head?
That was most likely there to negate the buzz from the wires in general as this was a shelf stored snare, which you don't want buzzing in case anything happens in the room
@@adamnagy2166 OK, Do you know what its made of/or is?
@@mrmoon1469 I don't know specifically, i'm just assuming simple cloth, that does the trick just ok
My favourite wires aren't Canopus, puresounds are just too dark sounding for me.
When you say “make your tweak” I wish you would have explained what you are trying to accomplish .
Weird Camera Angle
this guy looks like a dollar store john lovitz..
Uh...snare wires have a top and a bottom...this should have been shown.
