There are a multitude of factors at play when it comes to the performance of a drum so it’s easy to overlook something like the snare system. Both the strainer and the butt plate can have a relatively dramatic effect on whether you consider the drum to be your “dream snare” or just an okay option. This week, we’re remedying some issues with a snare that almost got sold off by way of upgrading the snare strainer and butt plate.
