- This book by Ryan Holliday details the inner working of online media. As architects, you are leaders in society, and it is important that you are not swayed by clickbait article titles.
The purpose of the news is not to inform you, it is to get you to watch more news. This can also be true in the world of architecture blogs. Be smart.

Thank you for sharing this book and the view. What you said remind me of this book called ‘Steps to Knowledge’ by Marshall Vian Summers. Through practice, we can be more clear about our real inner knowing, our mind and the influences of the world.
Underrated vlogger... Your channel is good man 👍 thanks for all of the information you share, colleague.
Thanks for the support!
The digital canvas allows for more criticism and greater reach of information than before 💞💞 but it can also lead to unneeded cookie cutter projects that lack thought and merely focus on visual. Can't believe this digital age brings new opportunities within to the field of design like fighting back against unpaid internships 😢🔥🔥
I don’t think the computer is to blame for cookie cutter projects. I think it’s people’s desire for certainty and stability. I don’t like when people blame problems indiscriminately on technology.

very , VERY nice video🌟
Can you make a video on starting an architecture firm and becoming an architect without a degree?!
Thank you for being you🤝
Hi, I have an unrelated question. In your opinion, which one of your architect classes was the hardest?
My third year design studio was the hardest for me. But that was because of my schedule that year. As for the rest of the classes, I don’t think of one of them as being harder than the rest. Maybe structures. The math is pretty basic. The formulas and the charts just seemed more tedious than they needed to be.
@@DrewPaulBell thanks!
Great video and book review Drew. While I was aware a lot of writers are not paid well I was not aware that writers who work for big blogs get paid per click. Now the sensationalism makes so much sense. I will check out the book as I am also really interested in creative Marketing campaigns and the stories behind them. One recent marketing campaign come to mind that I felt was clever. There was a musician who took out ads on billboards that stated there was a warrant for his arrest as he owes 2.3 million in child support. Apparently it worked really well and got people talking about him. Anyway looking forward to your next video.
Haha yeah sounds like the kind of story they talk about in the book! Be careful though. As they say in the book, if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. But it’s good to understand the system.
@@DrewPaulBell You are so right. I don't think I'll be using any of these marketing techniques for myself for I do find them interesting. Again thanks for sharing.
Hey, thanks for an interesting discussion. I like your honesty. Do you have any other good pr book recommendations?
I recommend any other book by Ryan Holliday. But the one I recommend the most is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig.
