- Failing the Architect Registration Exam sucks, but it's not that big of a deal. Don't have an ego about it.
Go check out Michael Riscica's video here:
Your a Loser if you FAIL the Architect Exam

Great Video Drew! I understand how it can definitely be frustrating after multiple attempts and failures of a test. You might feel like you WASTED all that time studying, you WASTED all that money, But every minute and dollar you SPENT on that last attempt is only getting YOU closer to YOUR pass.
Everyone is different, learns at a different pace and has their own problems and impediments. YOU need to do what gets YOU to that finish line. If your buddy did it in 75hrs and you need 500hrs, that doesn't make you any better or worse than them, because you have other things that make YOU great.
I hate it when people start comparing themselves to one; listen if you did it with a month of studying good for you, how much of that do you actually remember?
I always have the same mindset when I go into anything, If I fail I only have to work harder the next time. If I have to spend more money then I'll spend it, But the only thing you're wasting is FOCUS if you sit down and give up.
Quitting Is the real waste of time and money.
Very true! It’s important not to forget that all the time you spend studying for a test you failed still counts towards your next retake. When I spent 2 months studying PDD before passing it, it was really months 2 and 3 because I spent at least 1 month studying the first time around. It all adds up. And comparing yourself to others doesn’t help much if you’re doing it for your ego. If you want to look at how much someone else studied to pass, that might help you estimate. But as soon as you tie your ego and self worth to that, you’re in all kinds of trouble.
Hey drew! We used your video and your thesis as our case study in our own thesis and we passed! Thanks very much we would just to let you know. Haha :)
I love it! That’s great! Thanks for letting me know!
Hey drew!
I Will start my NCARB soon , and i have a few question if you can help me to start my NCARB please replay
Thank you
On the topic of failing- I’m not used to failing things but I know it happens. I think I would feel judgment or shame because how can I fail a test that decides my whole future ? There’s so much pressure on those things. We are not taught it’s ok to fail.
You can’t really fail a test that you can retake.
Drew Paul Bell hm honestly very true! I’m so used to the one and done with classes, you fail the final of a class that’s it game over.
imagine thinking test taking skills have major cross over. there is no universal way to make an exam. The SATs are one way, ARE are a complete other. the book 'intelligence and how to get it' is a great research book that opened me to how there are different kinds of intelligence and the different ways to test for it. Getting upset about failing the ARE is laughable. That shows low EQ ;)
Yeah I feel like every standardized testing system is unique. I think it’s normal to upset about failing at anything but it’s important to avoid putting too much importance on it.
I'm just here trying to make it through school 😂
Me too man! :'(
Perfectionism and ego can still get in the way in school. Stay humble and keep going!
@@DrewPaulBell I never really had much ego. Perfectionism I gave up on years ago because it made me too slow. It comes out occasionally... then deadlines snack that in the face. 😅
