The women must be petrified. How can she sleep at night knowing this man could be breaking into her house at anytime. This government needs a vote of no confidence and stand down now
I am a probation officer and have dealt with many DV cases over the years. Given the nature of this mans offending, level of risk and length of sentence, I find it difficult to understand why he might be released early, he clearly should not be eligible. He would also have been flagged as a DV perpetrator in case records and risk assessments (OASYs and Sara ) etc
It’s disgusting, I thought prison sentences were about the threat to the public, the Grandad who was protesting made no threat. This government is crazy.
@@Adam-hf7hn These people have been so brainwashed into thinking all of the UK's issues are to do with immigration, they could turn a report on the weather into an immigration problem
How about they actually use the ones already built, like the prisons which have stood vacant for years. I’m located in South Oxfordshire and we have an abandoned prison not far from us, it was fully functional until 2014. Despite numerous plans the building remains vacant with the MOJ forking out over £20K per month on utilities, security and upkeep….it’s an absolute joke!
Hugs to this lady, she has my deepest sympathy. Fortunately this was many years ago, but for a period of time, I had to go underground due to a violent ex stalking me. There was no help from the police, I had no family in the city I lived in - but fortunately I had friends who helped me. I know this fear, you carry it around constantly, raw fear for you life - and NO PROTECTION, NOT A PRIORITY? REALLY?
They should get house confinement/ or curfews and an ankle monitor, if they are released early to complete their sentence. The victim has now become sentenced to anxiety and fear for their life every day onwards.
This is just utterly terrible, disgraceful and I don't care how many of these excuses they give. We all know if they wanted those prisoners to stay there they would
Out of curiousity in the Scottish Courts we have something call an aggravator charge - so someone could get charged with assualt and then a domestic aggravator charge which indicates the context of the crime - is that not a thing in England?
If a jail is fuĺl then why can't he be transferred to another jail they cannot all be the same, but then the justice system is round the twist letting all crminals run riot.
Maybe let go those who are there for nonviolent crimes? Maybe build more prisons? Maybe create more rehabilitation programs so the people do not coalition crimes again? This problem didn't happen out of the blue. The government just didn't bother to react to the increasing prison population.

And an ex army officer, poor lass must be terrified
She should be scared. He will leave that prison an angry man. And likely seek revenge. Disgusting

whats the point of probation. trust me. threy dont care about the talking. nobody cares
That poor woman... How is her husband deemed safe enough to release????
Get this Prime minister OUT -- hes a joke!
Think you should blame the last crowd for building no prisons, Labour is just trying to pick up the pieces of a broken and neglected Britain.
why you all voted then!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Restraining orders are no guarantee that it will be upheld by the perpetrator.
These offenders aren’t given enough time in the first place and to cut it short is disgusting and dangerous!
Justice system in this country is knackered.
They are letting these evil criminals out and they send a grandad of 61 for protesting to jail
Well that grandad is a racist inciting violence and hate on our streets. So don’t down play that

How many of those are in jail becsuse they didn't pay their fines or didn't pay their tv licence.
In the upside down world of Labour, Prisoners before Victims, Migrants before British Citizens, Unions before Pensioners.
How about building more prisons?

I'm surprised he went to jail in the first place.

At least they serve some time in the UK. In Australia they get a slap on the wrist and no jail time at all.
