My mom went to nursing school in her late 30's, and graduated when she was 40 :) It's never too late. She's still working and she's almost 70, and loves what she does!
Sometimes I think they have age discrimination when hiring. They can't ask your age but they can ask when you graduated high school. I think you should be able to do nursing as long as you can efficiently.
Congrats!!! I hope all is well with you in your career!! I'm just starting and I'm 47. I am freaking out but I will go through with it for me, my children, my family and love to help people. xo
Thanks y'all for the encouragement, I just turned 46 and before starting my family 21 years ago, my passion was to become a nurse. The last few years I've felt too old to become a nurse. But I am healthy and in a really good place right now, and I think I'm ready to take on this challenge. 😘😷👩⚕️🙋
THANK YOU for the support Ms. EmpowerRN on this topic!!!!!!!..... at 55 I am in the process of applying to local colleges an universities........ you are never too young or too old to learn!!!!
WOW, I've been blown away with your response, God bless him, please let him know that he is my new hero, he has just changed my life, via your response to this video. I'm 56 years old and I'm going to go for my lifetime dream!! Thank you for sharing, God bless!
Jeffrey Down You’re too old to live your dream if no one will hire you or if there are no jobs in the field you want to work in. Don’t give people false hope with platitudes.
@@janewright8249 well, proving to yourself that you were able to do it at a later age is already a milestone and employers will definitely see that and put a person above the mediocre ones
I know this is an older video. but I love it. I'm 34 and will be 37 when I become an RN. feel alone when I see all the young ones and think why had I not made the choice back then. but I was not ready. now I am. thanks for sharing the statistics of your viewers just goes to show we all still want something more in life. no matter our age.
Currently 39, and I’ll be 40-41 attaining my LPN but I’ll be 43-44, attaining my BSN. I was ready in middle school but other people didn’t think I was ready.
Hi Caroline, I am 55 years of age and commenced nursing in a Sub-acute unit a few months ago. At times I have gone home after a shift thinking 'Am I too old to master all the skills that I have learnt'? Your video's have always managed to inspire me and to keep me pursuing my goals. Your inspirational talks along with working with some wonderful caregivers, encourages me to continue on this fulfilling journey. Please continue to post as you are a God send to all nurses and caregivers!!
Thanks so much for your encouragement. Im 52 and was just accepted into nursing school. It's been a journey just getting to this next part but so worth it. I love your videos and I take away so much info about what and what not to do. You keep making the videos and I'll keep watching and learning.
Diane Hansen Hi Diane!! So nice to hear from you! Congratulations on this new exciting phase of your life!! Thank you so much for letting me know that you like the videos!! I will do my best to keep them coming :) Looking forward to seeing you on here again soon!! Much Love, - Caroline
I'm 72 and want to become a nurse!! Did the career in software, became a vet tech, wildlife rehabilitator and yoga teacher...but I always wanted to be a nurse....
I’m 52 and I passed my NCLEX-RN last month. I got a job immediately. Go for it (provided you are comfortable with consistently working hard and you love people).
nurse wacky Hi Love! You are definitely right about that! Life experiences is still the best teacher.Palliative care is challenging specially in the aspect of emotion. Thumbs up for you for I know you do a great job. Can't wait to see you here once again. -xoxo!!
Thank you! I always had a special place in my heart for palliative care...losing my mum young to cancer and other family members...it is a privilege to care for someone at end of life, and it means their whole family is part of that care...It is a very special time in everyones life, and i have gratitude for being able to provide comfort at what can be a very heartbreaking time..it was for me as a family member, that insight has influenced how I nurse...we are never too old to have something valuable to offer :)
You know I watch your video about 3 year ago, and since then the term " life is so short" seem like it has amplified. But every single time I hear it I remember you, saying that life can be very long too. I chose to stick with long life instead. It's amazing how much your video have impacted me. Thanks!!
I am just beginning to pursue nursing at the age of 44, and I don't feel as if I am too old. I have ALWAYS thought about becoming a nurse, and when the opportunity arose for me to go back to school....I knew that I had to try it!!! Thank you for all the wonderful videos that I KNOW will answer most of my questions and keep me inspired!! I will keep you updated on my progress!! ;)
Awesome!! So glad to see that you have a youthful attitude... I really believe that it is necessary :) I am looking forward to updates!! xoxo - Caroline
We love your channel, I am 52 and a senior in a university program. I am pursuing my lifelong dream, and everything you said about age is true...just do it folks, because you can if you want to. It is a seriously difficult course of study, but worth it for the knowlege you will gain to help others.
Lisa Michelle Stiller Hi Lisa! Thanks so much for this sweet comment! You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others :) Stay in touch & I really look forward to hearing from you again soon! Much Love, - Caroline
Caroline, I agree with you that you can become a nurse at any age. In my RN program we have people of all ages. So if people are wanting to get into nursing as a second career, they won't be alone when they go to school. People who have children will have a harder time in some ways. But knowing that I have to do well enough to get through school and get a job to support my family is a big motivating factor for me.
That is so true Jeremy! There were so many students in my nursing program who had children too! Many times, they were the top students because they were to driven!! Thank for the comment! Looking forward to seeing you on here again soon! - Caroline
kimberly route Awe hi Kimberly!! I'm so glad to hear that you are following your heart :) I know you can do this!! Keep in touch & please let me know if I can help with anything else!! xoxo - Caroline
Yvonne Spencer Wow!! I admire you :) You are so welcome! I wish you all the best and blessings of God as you start the program. Can't wait to hear from you again. -xoxo!!
Just came across your videos and LOVE them! I'm 45 in my first semester of nursing school. I have no previous experience in healthcare (ie: CNA) whereas most of my fellow students do; so I feel very behind and inadequate next to them. I have a lot of anxiety issues now since starting school, so I'm so glad I found you. Thanks for your videos!!
Thank you for this video. I just turned 40 years old and there is SO much changing in my life. I really want to become a nurse. I have to complete my science pre-reqs so it will be a moment before applying to program, but I am so ready to live my life the way I always felt in my heart and nursing is the start of that goal. Thanks again!
Loved this video!!! I know its being a while since you made it. But thanks for the words, the encouragement. I'm 47 and started nursing school this semester. Looking forward to walk that podium and start changing lives xoxo
Anthony Pringle Hi Anthony!! So awesome!! Go for it!! You will be surprised how young you are when you become a nurse!! Life is too long not to go after what you want ;) See you soon!! xoxo!!!
Amen! 29 years old and served 8 years in the military and am now in my second semester of nursing school. Takes work but if you really want it you can definitely do it, especially if you have survived the military! You got this!!!
Thank you so much for making this video. I'm in my late 30's and was worried that I've run out of time to change my professional path and become a nurse. I really appreciate your attitude. I've been scared about being much older than the other students. But the worst thing I can imagine in life is getting to the end of it and regretting what I haven't done or tried to do.
I am here November 9, 2020 Amidst Pandemic here in the Philippines. I graduated back in 2009 my degree I nursing, got pregnant and had my family. I graduated BSN but since 11 years ago that was the peak of nursing career here and thousands of student nurses who graduated few were shifted their careers and I am one of them. I worked as stock analyst in the pharmacy, call center jobs but since I have kids already and I am now 32, I kinda have this feeling to pursue my career. I am a single mom now, and working as well in BPO industry, I am now motivated to go back to what I should've started 11 years ago. I know it's kinda hard but with the right time management, I believe I can do it! December 2nd week is the start of my review classes or refresher course. Thanks for your added enlightenment, nextyear june 2021 soon I am going to take the nursing licensure exam. Thanks and Godbless!
I will be 54 in 2 months. I was a Medical Laboratory Technologist for 20 years until I had breast cancer. My life long dream was to be a Pathologist. Medical School is definitely out of the question, though. Getting my BSN and then becoming a Nurse Practitioner is all I can think about now. I am so very excited. To me age is a frame o mind. If you can dream it, you CAN achieve it!!! God Bless!
After becoming a nurse Austrailia - I have realized just how "young" we really are! Your a baby love!! Follow your heart and you will stay young forever! Study hard & stay focused!! xoxo - Caroline
Watching this video made me feel so much better. I am in my late thirties, and just now starting my prereqs. This question went through my mind constantly... and now after seeing your video, I feel soo much better! Thank you!
Hi Misty! Really glad to hear that! After working in the hospital for such a long time, I have realized that age seriously is just a ### Just follow your heart. Challenging yourself constantly is what keeps you young ;) Looking forward to hearing from you again very soon!! xoxo - Caroline
Needed this thank you. I'm about to retire from the military at 38 years old and I want to start nursing school. I don't really understand the different types of nurses... I just want to help people
Hello Caroline, thank you so much for your posts. I am studying to take the LPN admission test. I would like to tell you that your post have been great for help for me. This one has helped me to lift my mood as I am afraid that I won't have time enough time to prepare for the test. I am two months to prepare for it. Thank you for being such a positive, giving and sweet person. You have 100+ videos. Soon I will be buying your books.
Thank you soooo much for this video. Your story in the beginning actually had me balling b/c I've been so afraid to start all over again w/schooling but realized that I need to live like I'm going to live until I'm in my 100's. I'm currently 35 and have been a CNA for 1 year and love it but know I'm destined for more. I have the heart for it.
I am in my last semester of the ADN/RN program and I began my nursing career at the age of 50! I graduated with my LPN first the transitioned and will be 55 when I graduate in May of 2018!! God is so good. Thank you for the videos they are so helpful and I love the fact you make the study guide to go with the videos. Makes studying a lot more enjoyable, and your right this is a second career for me :-)
Thank you started my journey in 2009 but was enable to continue. I am now continuing my education and have chosen to take the LPN program then work part time and work my job full time. After I acquire enough experience go to school LPN to RN. I am in my forties. I have been an MA and love helping people. I am so excited. Thank you again i have subscribed to you. God bless
I'm an EMT student and have had patients in their 80s and 90s that I SWEAR look 20-30 years younger. It's pretty crazy! I'm turning 30 this year and considering nursing school. This video was so inspiring. You're absolutely right - we have no clue how long we have left. Might as well go for it ;-). Thank you!
When I see this video all the time, it motivates me even more that I made the right choice to become a nurse and to stay healthy. Thank you again Caroline.
Im 59 and will be starting nursing school in August.I'm very excited and energized.I need to work but I didnt want to work retail.I wanted more meaningful work to do.I worked as an Lpn 34 years ago Now I'm going after my RN. Youre only as old as you feel.Ive met 30 year old who act like they're 70.
D Reid Hi Reid!Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it.I'm glad you find this video. I hope it will help you in some ways.hope to see you real soon. keep in touch!xoxo!!
Wow...where have you been in my life on youtube??? Thank you so much for your genuine delivery and candid approach! You are so special! Thank you for this!!! :)
Lindy Metzger Hi Lindy! I know, youtube is absolutely amazing!! Thank you for letting me know that you liked it :) I honestly think that we all need to hear this & also remind ourselves constantly that our age does not define us :) Our liveliness does :) See you soon I hope!! xoxo!
I'm 30 and watching this video. I don't think it will be the right choice in my life right now, but it's nice to hear even if I wait until I'm 40 it's all good. As long as I'm in good health anyways. Thanks for the video.
thank you so much for this! I'm 21 years old but for some reason i feel like I should be rushing things and figuring out what I should be doing with my life. I'm currently an LVN graduate thinking about going for my RN. i now know that I shouldn't have to rush things, things will happen when the right time comes. Thank you again.
Wow! That’s pretty amazing! I came on here looking for encouragement because I submitted my application but feel like I’m making the wrong decision cause I keep thinking & rethinking the nursing work load, clinicals, etc and I just turned 53. 😬 I’ve been working in medical field (medical interpreter) but I’ve been wanting this (nursing) for a long time. Thank you!
+EmpoweRN thank you for this videos I've always wanted to be a nurse since I was little but always been brought down by comments that I wasn't good enough and depression due to life's tragedies I admire what the nurses did when my dad passed away. I've been unhappy at a job where I was over worked and when I mentioned my goal of becoming a nurse again I was looked at like I was ridiculous or to too old. Iam 30 years old and I can't wait to begin school next year!! your video just made my day and it hasn't even started. I've been watching all your videos since I've found your channel.Thank you !!!!!!!!
Love your video! I'm 43 and just made the decision to give nursing school a try. I have to take my prerequisites first, and I start microbiology in January!! Feels great reading all of the comments from people in my age group!
I agree with all the other comments that are on here. I too was a unit secretary in the hospital and when I got around the nurses I had such a joy and interest but when I got fired for attendance that was (another) story. Anyways while I was there one of nurses ask did I ever consider being a nurse before that incident and I contemplate it. But when I decide to commit to it I got fired. Some 11 yrs later at the age 44 and visiting some of my ex coworkers, I said that I am going back to school for nursing starting next year and I am very excited. Thank you for this encouraging video.
I am looking into starting as a Personal Support Worker and branch off into Nursing Possibly. I currently do respite care and I love it! I have been doing Personal Care for some past people I provided support too.
loving all your videos!! I am a nurse from the philippines but when i transfer here in south africa with my wife, i wasnt able to practice because of the processing problems here.. But your video gives me the motivation and confidence to review again and regain my lost confidence towards nursing..
I'm 48 years old and life has kept me from going back to school. i too, want to pursue nursing. i have no financial support frm family so i guess loans are my only option. i can't thank you enough for the encouragement your videos give women like me. You have videos on so many different levels. Please, keep them coming as you think of them. We will use your videos as our LIGHT through a very difficult tunnel. A Nursing is a career will be my journey through retirement, helping where the need is great. Thank you, again. You make me feel I still have a chance!!!😁
Thank you so much for your encouraging words I am 37 and was really struggling with whether or not I should continue to chase my dreams of becoming a nurse due to my age . I have always wanted to be a doctor or a nurse is I was seven . I had to give up that dream when I became a mother at 19 then again four more times Lol . I devoted my life to being a stay at home mom. I know now I have been called to be a nurse :) Thank you also thank you for the scripture Jeremiah 29 :11
Janet Cortorreal Hi Janet!! Anytime! Honestly 37 is so so so young! You have no idea how many of my patient are well into their 80's sometimes 90's and still very active & high functioning. You have to go for it ;) Thanks so much for the comment & letting me know that the video helped :) Looking forward to hearing from you again soon! Much Love, - Caroline
+Janet Cortorreal We have similar stories. I also became a mother at 19, and now I'm a mom to a 5 & 8 year old at 43 years old!! Feels like I've been home forever, and I just made the decision to finally go for it!! Good luck to you!
+Tara we do have a similar story small world Lol. Thank you for your kind words :) Good luck on your new life's journey you have encouraged me to continue to move forward. :)
Hi. Great video! Thank you! Am 37 and I've been thinking of doing nursing for a while. My age has been holding me back. Just kept on thinking I was to old. This video has helped ease doubts about myself. Thanks so much. Take care. :-)
Thank you for all your videos! You are so inspiring and the videos have helped me tremendously. This video was so perfect for how I was feeling returning to school to pursue nursing via an accelerated second degree program. You are so encouraging and thank you for sharing your wisdom and passion!
Angela Ginanni Ohh that's so sweet of you! Thank a lot for letting me know. I really appreciate it. Makes all the effort worth it. Can't wait to see you here again. -xoxo!!
Thanks for this video. I'll be 49 in a month and you've given me the extra boost of confidence towards completing my BS in accounting after 25 years of putting off.
Patrick Gaudin Hi Patrick!! So nice to hear from you! You are so far from alone!! Life is about going for what we want... so glad to see that you are doing that :) Please keep in touch & let me know if I can help with anything else!! Much Love, - Caroline
Omg I totally needed to hear this. Your videos are helpful, motivational, and inspirational. I am 21 and have question myself if I will be too old to become a nurse. I am currently trying to finish up my classes so I can get into the nursing program and be an RN and go back to school to get my master's in neonatal nurse.
Chyla Allen Hi Chayla! Don't worry! You are not the only one :) I created this video due to a lot of request. I'm glad to hear that it helped you!! Keep in touch!! xoxo - Caroline
Thank you! I needed this today. Finishing my 2nd semester and questioning if I'll have enough energy to do the job once I graduate. I love my clinicals but I worry about "competing" with other, younger, nurses once I am in the workforce. Thanks again!
Inspirational, im 42 today, and preparing my self to study nursing in the very near future, despite i don't have any academical back ground, but i will do it. Cheers. Peace.
Thank you for this. I'll be 35 in May and am just now going back to school. I like your motto. This was very encouraging. Nice to see those stats. Thanks again.
I know!! I'm was 24 and I was doing the same thing!! lol We all do it I guess!! But, if we are going to live to be 90+ years old... we are all just babies lol!! Thanks so much for the comment!! xoxo
Willam Bennett Hi William! Your so welcome! When you see people in their 90's up, active and living a fulfilled life... makes you rethink this age thing ;) Stay driven! xoxo - Caroline
Wow. Great video, i don't usually comment but here i go. I wanna go into accounting and I'm 32. I been thinking I'll be almost 40 when i sit for my cpa and this video was just what i needed, really changes my perspective. Thank you so much
I am 45 years old and an in the second semester of the nursing program. It really upsets me when I see nurses my age that have been in the field for 25 years that now have more desk type jobs. That could of been me if I would of started my nursing journey right out of high school. So frustrating! One of my friends who started the RN program this fall actually got a gift card for being the oldest beginning RN student ;)
ezymk69 Awe that is so cute that she got a gift card! I'm so glad that you are going after your dream!! I really think you are going to love it :) Keep in touch! Looking forward to hearing from you again soon! Much Love, - Caroline
I'm 56 years old (57 next week) and I've been an RN for 33 years. I find your comment interesting. I must ask, what appeals to you about "desk type jobs"? Is that what you are looking for? I have stayed at the bedside because I love my work. I love to teach but my first love is to be at the bedside so I will be there until they drag me away :)
Thank you, Caroline, for your channel. It is giving me the support I need at the end of nursing school. I will graduate in three months, at age 52. I don't feel I'm too old to be a nurse. However, I am wondering if prospective employers will view me as too old? I hope I can land the position I want as a NICU nurse in California : )
Hi Angela! So nice to hear from you! I'm so happy for you that you took the steps to follow your dreams and have also succeeded!! I work on a tele floor and I see people being hired at all ages... I do think that looking healthy and vital helps, because the job is physically demanding, although NICU will be much less physically demanding of course. I know that I've overheard other women say things that will help them look younger in order to get hired, like dye their hair or wear a little more makeup that day... but ultimately I think it just comes down to looking your best! Perhaps in the interview when they ask you personal questions, make it a point to share some personal information that shows your interest in health and exercise. 52 is pretty young, especially if your healthy :) I hope this helps!! When you go through this process why don't you post another comment and let me know what your experience was, maybe I can share it with others!! Talk to you soon! God Bless :)
This is so true! People who are in their 40's and 50's will show all the bad stuff they did in their 20's. I always say the 40's and 50's are the kill zone and if you can get through those two decades, you can live to be over 90!
so helpful! ! I'm 46..mom of three under the age of 11 and have always wanted nursing! because I've always was told how hard it is. ..I didn't pursue it. I earned a BS degree in pysch that I don't use. ..I love following your videos because your not intimidating. .your real..you don't instill fear...I've already applied to one university. ...waiting to hear back and applying at two others...could you speak sometime regular fourvyear bsn versus accelerated programs for someone like myself who already have a bachelor's? keep smiling :) Jen
+Jennifer klein Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for letting me know that you like the channel! It is easy for me to encourage you to pursue nursing... of course it's hard... but it is really interesting! It is also such a nice career. I really think you will like it! Thanks so much for the video request! I will see if I can talk to some other Accelerated BSN grads & compare & contrast for a video. Looking forward to hearing from you again very soon! xoxo - Caroline
NOPE ! I became an RN at the age of 37, I am now 45 and have grown so much, I say as long as you have determination and health the sky is the limit! Go for it . You will find haters on the way , but let God be your guide. my motto is "failure is not an optionn" but if you fail a class get up and give it your best again !
Thank you so much for sharing this! I know it will help a lot of people believe in themselves :) You are a great role model!! Looking forward to seeing you on here again soon! Much Love, - Caroline
Can you make a video on how you handle weak stomachs? I'm interested in nursing but feel as though I may not be cut out for it because a few things upset my stomach (mucus, vomit, poop)
Thank you so much Amy!! I love making these videos for you guys!! So glad that you find them helpful! Thanks so much for posting a comment & letting me know!!! See you soon!! xoxo
Dear Empowern: can you cover the fact that some nurses get abused by their spouse ? how would that affect their care for an Domestic Violence patient? It was appalling that nobody seemed to be aware of this. my professor asked us to write a paper about it and I found NOTHING.
I know this video is old but I'm 32 and I have decided to pursue nursing being in class with 18 year olds made me ask myself am I too old to become a nurse and the answer is clearly age isn't a factor.
My mom went to nursing school in her late 30's, and graduated when she was 40 :) It's never too late. She's still working and she's almost 70, and loves what she does!
Awesome Catherine!!
I have met several other nurse working in their 70's too!
And not because they have to :)
Thank you for sharing!!

So how is it being a nurse now?
THANK YOU for the support

i understand about the not being ready when younger.

Are you doing the prerequisites in community college

Hi wonderful ❤, how re you doing today greetings from 🇺🇸...
Wow Kathy that's quite a resume. I think you can be a nurse. More power to you. I think you will be proud to have accomplished this endeavor.
I’m 52 and I passed my NCLEX-RN last month. I got a job immediately. Go for it (provided you are comfortable with consistently working hard and you love people).
One of our nurses decided to become a nurse at 43.She was a fantastic nurse
just graduated at 47 years old, life experience has given me many skills in my field of palliative care :)

I really believe that it is necessary :)
I am looking forward to updates!!

You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others :)
Stay in touch & I really look forward to hearing from you again soon!
Much Love,
- Caroline
I started nursing at 44 yrs old, im 67yrs old this year and still nurse two days a week and will carry on as long as I can .
- Caroline
Thank you I'm 46 and you young lady just inspire me to go for it. Blessing from you to my heart.
kimberly route Awe hi Kimberly!! I'm so glad to hear that you are following your heart :) I know you can do this!! Keep in touch & please let me know if I can help with anything else!!

Wow! Thanks for the video. I am 50 years old and I will start the program this Fall.
I'm with you kk. Am starting a nursing program at 50. I hope we do not face age discrimination. Many of the instructors say no, but I do wonder.
How's the journey go? Update please?!
Excellent. I am 39 and I am thinking about nursing after 18 years of serving in the military.
Anthony Pringle Hi Anthony!!
So awesome!!
Go for it!! You will be surprised how young you are when you become a nurse!!
Life is too long not to go after what you want ;)
See you soon!!
xoxo!!!
Amen! 29 years old and served 8 years in the military and am now in my second semester of nursing school. Takes work but if you really want it you can definitely do it, especially if you have survived the military! You got this!!!
Thank you for your channel. I'm in the upper age group. 56yrs.old.
We have a nurse working at my facility who is 86 !
That's very inspiring, thanks for sharing 😀
I will be 54 in 2 months. I was a Medical Laboratory Technologist for 20 years until I had breast cancer. My life long dream was to be a Pathologist. Medical School is definitely out of the question, though. Getting my BSN and then becoming a Nurse Practitioner is all I can think about now. I am so very excited. To me age is a frame o mind. If you can dream it, you CAN achieve it!!! God Bless!
thanks , i am 40 and i am seriously wanting to make this change to nursing. you really help me in my decision . Thank you!
After becoming a nurse Austrailia - I have realized just how "young" we really are!
Your a baby love!!
Follow your heart and you will stay young forever!
Study hard & stay focused!!
xoxo
- Caroline
Thank you.
How's the journey? Update please!
Watching this video made me feel so much better. I am in my late thirties, and just now starting my prereqs. This question went through my mind constantly... and now after seeing your video, I feel soo much better! Thank you!
Hi Misty!
Really glad to hear that!
After working in the hospital for such a long time, I have realized that age seriously is just a ###
Just follow your heart. Challenging yourself constantly is what keeps you young ;)
Looking forward to hearing from you again very soon!!

For sure!! 35 is so young!
Really, who knows how long we will live... but it's not about living. It is about feeling alive!
You can do this ;)
I am in my last semester of the ADN/RN program and I began my nursing career at the age of 50!

Lindy Metzger Hi Lindy!

Thank you for letting me know that you liked it :) I honestly think that we all need to hear this & also remind ourselves constantly that our age does not define us :)
Our liveliness does :)
See you soon I hope!! xoxo!
UA-cam is okay. It's all you girl!!! Thank you again!
Thank you!
Ryan Evren hi 👋🏼 It’s going great thank you for asking! How are you?
Hiii dear
I really appreciate the time you have taken to make such helpful, informative and inspiring videos! You are truly an angel. Thank you!

Looking forward to hearing from you again soon!
Much Love,
- Caroline
+Tara I'm 44 and I'm just starting....good luck to you.
I'm 43 as well, and doing exactly the same! Good luck to you!
How's your journey? Update please!
Are u an RN now?
I`ll be graduating when I`m 48. I only have two more months to go. :)
Hi wonderful ❤, how re you doing today greetings from 🇺🇸...
Yes, keep them coming Caroline. You are such a helpful gal.
You have to go for it ;)
Thanks so much for the comment & letting me know that the video helped :)
Looking forward to hearing from you again soon!
Much Love,
- Caroline

Take care. :-)
Thank you. Your video bring people with testimony to share 🙌
Thank you for all your videos! You are so inspiring and the videos have helped me tremendously. This video was so perfect for how I was feeling returning to school to pursue nursing via an accelerated second degree program. You are so encouraging and thank you for sharing your wisdom and passion!

Please keep in touch & let me know if I can help with anything else!!

Keep in touch!!
xoxo
- Caroline
You are just a sunshine and inspiration!!!!So much wisdom!
You are too sweet!!
Thank you so much for the encouraging comment!!
It means a lot!

How about 63 yrs old? I worked as a PT for 26 yrs. I'm sharp and active.
+Vicki Vela 63 is so young! Follow your ❤ 😘
Go for it!!!
Your video was very encouraging to me
Thanks
I am 45 years old and an in the second semester of the nursing program. It really upsets me when I see nurses my age that have been in the field for 25 years that now have more desk type jobs. That could of been me if I would of started my nursing journey right out of high school. So frustrating! One of my friends who started the RN program this fall actually got a gift card for being the oldest beginning RN student ;)
ezymk69 Awe that is so cute that she got a gift card!
I'm so glad that you are going after your dream!!
I really think you are going to love it :)
Keep in touch!
Looking forward to hearing from you again soon!
Much Love,
- Caroline
I'm 56 years old (57 next week) and I've been an RN for 33 years. I find your comment interesting. I must ask, what appeals to you about "desk type jobs"? Is that what you are looking for? I have stayed at the bedside because I love my work. I love to teach but my first love is to be at the bedside so I will be there until they drag me away :)
You are gorgeous! Thanks for the advice coming from a 41 year old just trying to get into the nursing program.
Man and I’m here over thinking that starting at 25 is too late. I needed this.
Thanks sometimes hearing this awesome histories is what you needed ! I’m 40 and studying audiology 💕
Hi wonderful ❤, hope you safe greetings from 🇺🇸...
thankyou for your video. I am a woman age 47 thinking of becoming a nurse and you have really contributed positively to my decision. so thankyou
thanks for the video I a 32 and I thought I was too old to start
Melissa Warner
Not at all ;)
Go after your goals, no matter what your age :)
And 32 is so young!!
xoxo
- Caroline
I earned a BS degree in pysch that I don't use. ..I love following your videos because your not intimidating. .your real..you don't instill fear...I've already applied to one university. ...waiting to hear back and applying at two others...could you speak sometime regular fourvyear bsn versus accelerated programs for someone like myself who already have a bachelor's? keep smiling :)
Jen
+Jennifer klein
Hi Jennifer!
Looking forward to hearing from you again very soon!
xoxo
- Caroline
awesome video!! i totally agree!
+Shelley Hillier Thank you so much for letting me know!
I appreciate it so much!
xoxo
- Caroline
Thank you.
I really want to do nursing. I am good with people. just scared at 42. do to the fact of hardly having any family support.
I know it will help a lot of people believe in themselves :)
You are a great role model!!
Looking forward to seeing you on here again soon!
Much Love,
- Caroline

Love your videos. We all appreciate you :)
Can you make a video on how you handle weak stomachs? I'm interested in nursing but feel as though I may not be cut out for it because a few things upset my stomach (mucus, vomit, poop)
Hi Sierra!!
That is something that does deserve a video!!
I have placed the request in the folder!!! Stay tunned ;)

I'm 33 years old and I want to start Nursing school in September or next year in 2018.
Wow!!. You're so on point. Great info. Btw, you're also cute, smart, and inspiring. Keep up the good job.
I just turned 30 and was feeling like I was to old to be in school, but it's better late than never!
+Candace Marie Very true ^_^. Good luck!
You take my breathe away. Too bad I'm an old RN. ❤️❤️❤️😘
Dear Empowern: can you cover the fact that some nurses get abused by their spouse ? how would that affect their care for an Domestic Violence patient? It was appalling that nobody seemed to be aware of this. my professor asked us to write a paper about it and I found NOTHING.
Hmmm,
I could certainly try :)
I will also try to find some information!!
Looking forward to seeing you again soon!!
Much Love,
- Caroline
I know this video is old but I'm 32 and I have decided to pursue nursing being in class with 18 year olds made me ask myself am I too old to become a nurse and the answer is clearly age isn't a factor.
