Came here from vid of Jack Black talking about his different roles and how he got these guys to write the final tune for School of Rock after seeing them open for the Strokes. Indeed, rock lives on.
Seen these guys around 2002-2003 when this album came out at Fletchers in Baltimore. Seen a lot of big bands, Rolling stones, Pink Floyd, etc..this was by far the best concert I’ve ever seen ☝️
i was 16 years old, suburban kid in my town in nj. with my first payment from working as a porter at stop and shop, i bought this and white light/white heat. shit. changed me
Saw a double bill with Mooney and the Hives at Club Soda in Montreal when this album came out. Mooney took down the Hives that night. That was saying something. Too killer live bands
Their manager is pretty funny. He should seriously think about a career in front of the camera. I can totally see him as, I don't know, maybe a funny substitute teacher or something.
As people have said, they do sound like the MC5, and some of the playing sounds right out of Kick Out the Jams. Still, this is a great song even though it's probably not the most original.
@Chipwilliams77 how can it not be as good when it's obvious they were heavily influenced by MC5 ~ the original is always best, but it always leaves room for those that come after to take it and add their own flavor. Sometimes it good and often times it's not ~ in their case it works.

Theyr are actually in the movie practicing in the background back stage in the final show scene.
Damn. This band is so underrated. I love this song.

Fletcher's was an excellent venue to see bands. Plus, the jukebox downstairs ruled
I love through the whole Jack Black spiel they are trying so hard not to laugh.
Easily one of the best live shows I ever saw. Spring of 2003, in the Ascot Room at the Quest Club in Minneapolis. The sweat was indeed electric.

Fuckn white light/white heat!! What a great song/album
Charming “coming of age” tale bro.
THIS IS THE BAND THAT WROTE THE FINALE SONG FOR SCHOOL OF ROCK!!!!! SOOO AWESOME!!!!
I really enjoyed the guy on the left trying but failing not to laugh through the entire car ride scenes
I saw them in Santa Cruz on this tour.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I think the MC5 were very underrated. They never got the recognition that they should've had.
