It is good but it's also a little win-more. Any game where Frog stays on the board for multiple turns is a game you're probably winning anyway, because by definition you're drawing 2 cards per turn while they don't have either a counterspell or a removal spell or a combo-kill. But sure, Loam and Frog are both good by themselves, and their synergy is a nice little cherry on top.
I know my format knowledge is getting better when I was thinking "wouldn't stiflenaught also have tundra and daze," I mostly have watching these videos to thank for that!
Saying a word until it stops feeling like it has a meaning is called "Semantic Satiation" ... which is also something you can say 5 times and stops feeling like a word.
I know the term semantic diffusion in IT as described by Martin Fowler: "Semantic diffusion occurs when you have a word that is coined by a person or group, often with a pretty good definition, but then gets spread through the wider community in a way that weakens that definition. This weakening risks losing the definition entirely - and with it any usefulness to the term"
Holy crap Bosh just before 4:40 I paused the video, did some chores, and as I did I thought to myself about how the word engine kinda loses its meaning when you say it too much, then I sat back down, unpaused, and listened to you go on the exact same rant I did. Wow lmao
I really liked the inclusion of Field of the Dead in these Nadu decks. It just seemed to make winning so trivial. I'm curious about your thoughts on it
It's probably just a bit too win-more, because any game you're drawing a bunch of cards with Nadu is probably a game you're winning already. And it's not a painless addition, because this is already a 4C deck with 7 colorless lands, 1 Bosejiu and 1 Karakas. You can't just keep adding sweet utility lands forever, at some point you need real lands that cast spells. But yes, this is like the sad part of being a spike: you feel that you have to make the disciplined call to not play Field of the Dead, even though it's really sweet and fun.
Nadu Stasis--I think that if you say that three times in a mirror, the deck appears behind you. We used to call Rescaminator the boogeyman, this sounds like an actual monster given flesh and cardboard. Stasis decks are the stories told 'round campfires by Lantern Control players when they want to scare one another. Now it has a sequel with a unplaytested velociraptor. Play it on Halloween, is what I am suggesting.
Based on what he said in match 5 he said you cant tap insect tokens in mtgo to bluff. Does that mean u can do it irl at a tourny without getting in trouble for randomly tapping and untapping ur creature?
@@Izamathanosreally? I mean I get that brainstorm makes landing miracles easier but a 5/5 lifelink is that good? That it’s worth all that effort? I guess I can see it. I presume it’s because lifelink is a really relevant keyword.
@@viviblue7277 The important part of Triumph is that when it dies, it gets shuffled back into the top six cards of your deck. Decks without Swords to Plowshares can't permanently kill it. Against Delver, a UB or UBR deck that relies on steady chip damage, a 5/5 with lifelink that keeps coming back is everything they don't want to see.
Well, as he explained a minute later, the Nadu + Shuko combo that he discovered earlier in the video is quite good. One of the reasons he even cares about the construct is to target it.
Match one game two (about ten minutes in) why did you force the drifter pitching nadu. Seems like it would’ve been better to slam nadu and start drawing with your shuko you then got with your saga. Could allways trade after if you wanted. Not saying one line is obviously better and any other argument is stupid, just genuinely looking to learn.
Okay, whos gonna be the sicko who will donate for the Nadu Stasis league?
You…you must step up and do what you know must be done

I still want veteran explorer + flare of cultivation 😭

I hadn't really considered just how good Loam and Frog are together, that's insane

Same!
Literally exactly my thoughts when he said breakfast.
My first thought in the match was "If this is nought I don't want to play into daze"
That was exactly my thought because we have a Stiflenought player in our meta, so it was my first guess.
Oops all engines

Haywire Mite clearly has the vibe of something that would mistakenly wear one of the Lavaspur Boots on its 'head'.
"It's plus says draw a card" amazing evaluation of a good card this is why i love this channel

At about 4:30, that's called semantic satiation. Saying the same word over and over so many times it starts to lose meaning.

The deck feels overall pretty weak to me, the engines are powerful but don't work that well with eachother...
