With practice, even with a heavy pack it works pretty well. Another thing I used to do in really deep snow was attach a long cord to the tip of each snowshoe and an adjustable loop ( prussick) in the other end which went to each hand ( which also had my ski pole). Thus, it would help lift each shoe with its heavy load of snow. Somewhat tiring on the arms(!) so I could adjust the loops to slackness to give them a break. Excellent job on a first roll on the titanium stove pipe. So many UA-camr reviewers jack them up. I am doing a solo winter accent to McLaughlin this weekend. Flashy red snow shovel you have. I still use my Chouinard aluminum snow shovel I bought in the early 1980's. Sending you good vibes from Central OR. Thanks for another well executed video!
Best video I have watched! Thank you for exerting the effort to film all of that. I just did my first video to help inspire men battling prostate cancer and my wife helped film because I am still to weak to have done it all. I can't imagine how difficult it would be if I had been in your shoes. When I get stronger I would absolutely love to find weather just like you did. I prefer hammock system myself. Really liked seeing the possibility of combining it with stove! Awesome video and audio. Hope you had a peaceful and energizing time overall. Again, thank you for the massive effort it took to film it and bring me along.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it and appreciate the effort. I prefer hammocks too because of how comfortable they are. Having a stove to heat the air where the hammock hangs was great! By the way, I just watched your inspiring video and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures!
I've never been big into camping but after all the BS I'm seeing over social media; this inspires me to get myself some camping gear and enjoy nature in peace and quiet.... the way life should be.
Love your videos and I appreciate all the hard work you go through making them. I personally couldn't sleep in a hammock because I roll around too much in my sleep and I can't sleep on my back. It would probably be a cot or sleeping pad for me.
I've thought the same thing, but I imagine the hammock sort of hugs you and lets you kind of roll around without going anywhere. Might try it before abandoning the idea. It's less gear than a cot, and it gets you up off the ground, which is a big factor in staying warm with what you carry on your back.
If this is your thing of using a hammock set up then great for you. I love winter camping in a hot tent but not with a hammock or a tiny stove. Those small stoves have to be stoked so often it gets annoying. I enjoy a bigger stove where you can enjoy a nicer and longer burn. More room to cook on the top and where I can put my camp oven. Getting in and out of a hammock is hard for me so I will leave hammock camping to summer or warmer temps. I respect you for just getting out there and enjoying the outdoors. Thank you for sharing your video. It educates folks on what options are out there for camping. I’m sure there are folks who love this type of camping but I will stick to winter camping with my tent and stove. I enjoy my blowup mattress bed just fine. It’s all about getting out there and to find what fits your preference.
I think I could really get behind the hammock idea! Might make finding a good spot for camp a LITTLE tougher, but the result is awesome! Absolutely love your videos. Makes me want to get out more in winter!
I just can't get into the groove with hammocks. And I even have a Hennessy Hammock, where you lay diagonal and "flat". Just can't move around as much, and my aging body doesn't appreciate being in one position all night long. However, hammocks can be easier to find a place to set up, compared to a tent, especially in areas where difficulty finding any flat land that isn't a flood risk presents itself.

Awesome! Thank you for watching. I need a bigger stove like you have. I let mine burn out when I went to bed because I didn't want to keep getting out of the hammock every 45 minutes lol.

Beautiful. The quiet. Winter has always been my favorite season

LOL! Winter "camping" in the back yard... you go Grizzley!

I bought a quality hammock last year and I have had some of the best sleeps ever in it. And typically I toss and turn and roll around too
Great setup. Thank you for including the product descriptions as well. Continued success for you and your channel.

Have the same tent. Works great for me here in northern Canada hunting and fishing. Made my own stove with a large ammo crate so I dont have to feed the fire quite as much. Great vid. Love to see you getting out there.
Awesome! Thank you for watching. I need a bigger stove like you have. I let mine burn out when I went to bed because I didn't want to keep getting out of the hammock every 45 minutes lol.

If you see this I have a couple of quick questions : 1) Weight of your pack for this trip? Was it lighter than the pack you carried the cot? I would think maybe JUST a little. 2) I have never used a little titanium stove like that... how long do you have to wait for cool down to pack up? Thanks again for the awesome videos!
Titanium has low thermal mass. Cools very quickly
I would question using Tupper ware for food much better ways with out the bulk and weight. Love your setup for a very short period thats close to more food resupply .
